We recently had our wood deck replaced with a colored, stamped, concrete Patio. The Capozzi crew was hired after getting a very reasonable price. I am very pleased with the way that we were treated and the super quality of their work. Our yard looks absolutely beautiful. Don't hire Capozzi. We were referred to Nick Capozzi Paving. We had a blacktop driveway approach that had to be done. It was scheduled 2 months in advance for the first week of October. This made me nervous being that winter was coming soon but I was assured that since it was a very small area, it would be a quick job and they would do it when they had another job in the area. Two guys (mid twenties) showed up and cleaned off the driveway approach. They removed the loose junks of old blacktop which created big potholes in my driveway approach. Three more men (mid twenties) showed up, looked at the task, and set out all their tools. One of them called in to report they arrived. Another tells me this job will only take a half hour. A truck load of blacktop immediately arrived. The guy on the phone hangs up and says, we have to go to our next job a block away because the customer's upset that we aren't there yet. The 50 yr old truck driver, who's about to start dispensing blacktop, says, "Well this is only going to take us 20 minutes. Let's just pour it and we can leave 2 guys to finish it and the rest of us will head to the next job." The mid twenty-year-old boss says, "Nope, that was Nick Capozzi on the phone and he said to leave this and immediately go to the next job." I said, well how am I supposed to use my driveway now that you pulled all the old junks of blacktop out of it and left huge potholes? Are you coming back right after that other job? The boss responds, No, you'll have to call the office to reschedule. I called the office multiple times. I never swore and I never got hot-headed because this company was referred to me by a close friend. I simply asked for a date to get the work done. NO ONE EVER RETURNED ANY OF MY CALLS. Well I realize that my small black driveway approach, from the street to my concrete driveway, was only a small $1200 job to Capozzi, but once they pulled out the junks of old blacktop, they made my driveway unusable AND winter was coming. After a few weeks of no return calls, I had to call around to other companies. Most of them said, they were no longer accepting jobs for this season because winter was coming. I found a company to do it. I had to pay them nearly double to make a special trip and do my driveway approach. That company stated, they weren't accepting any more jobs for this season. But once I explained my situation and the small size of the job, they agreed to do it. Thankfully it got done before it snowed. To this day I have no idea why Nick Capozzi would have a crew of guys show up, tear out some of the existing broken blacktop, clean and prep the driveway for blacktop, but never finish the job. It was the most bizarre incident that ever occurred. I mentioned this to the guy who referred me to them. I asked, does Nick Capozzi hate you so that's why he did this to me? He had no explanation. Though he said, he will never, ever, refer Nick Capozzi to anyone ever again. So I guess if you want a crew of guys to come out and rip out a driveway for FREE, call Capozzi. But if you want a driveway installed, call anyone else. read more

I just had my 34 year old asphalt driveway resurfaced. Nick did my initial assessment and quote. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in the decision to have the work done. The men that did the job worked like a true team. Jake ,who oversaw the job , asked about any concerns I had and addressed the issues specific to my driveway. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!! In 2018 Capozzi resurfaced my driveway. In 2019 Capozzi sealed my driveway. It rained later that night. Their sealer was so thin washed away from my driveway and onto my house, garage doors and garage floor!! Now I have water pulling in-and get flooding when it rains!! Something that never happened before Capozzi came out. This will not come off!! There was a lot of back and forth-lots of ignored calls. This year- Paul was going to 'make it right' but Nick (who owns the business for 30 years) came out and said he 'wasn't God' and that I was lying!! They clearly don't want to fix the mess they made. Look at the pictures of their work!! Nick said that it's not sealer that causes flooding-if not then they don't know how to grade a driveway!! Nick also said that I should pay to have my driveway re-sealed??? REALLY?? This could be you!! Use at your own risk!! UPDATE: First of all-I shouldn't have to use my own insurance. For the same reason I asked you for your liability insurance and you absolutely refused! Your sealer was of poor quality and washed off my driveway and ruined my garage doors, floor and house siding! The same sealer meant to protect the driveway washed off entirely. Your own workers admitted there was an issue with the pooling I am getting in my garage! You, Nick, are the only person who has been unhelpful and unwilling to make this right!! I have responded to your letter and still have not heard from you. The pictures prove you workmanship is horrible-your letter proves you are not a man of your word and your lack of response proves your business is unwilling to fix their mistake!! read more

Can't say enough about the excellent work these guys do. In 2022 they resurfaced my battered blacktop driveway. They did an amazing job and now it looks like new. This year I contacted them about putting in a stamped concrete patio and they came up with the perfect design for my house and yard. It looks spectacular. Okay. I think the driveway will workout, but the process was grueling. Driveway is 40' x 17', not large. Our mid June paving date was established in early April. Much further out than I would have liked. Nick Capozzi did the estimate. "One day job, no problem". Well mid June came. Paving day was Friday. All that occurred was stripping the driveway, adding some base material. Working the surface with a Bobcat and then rolled with a vibratory roller. They left. Said will be back Saturday morning to finish. Well, they were back around 11:00 to pave the binder (course) coat. 2-1/2". Only brought enough for 60% of the driveway. "We'll be back Monday to finish." Great, one day job I'm thinking. Monday came, crew showed up first thing. This time with two trucks carrying asphalt. The binder coat was finished by hand. Wheel barrels and rakes. Once the hot asphalt was placed, they started rolling. They let it cool for an hour, then added 1-1/2" top coat using a paving machine. Once placed rolling began. Things look good. It's been 3 weeks. We don't park on it as it's still soft. That's me being overly cautious. They said 5 days. I would hire them again if they could complete in one day. Our driveway was left a mess and not done correctly. Nick said he would give us a deal on sealing the driveway because the resurfacing was not a good job. He stated that he would reseal for $165 after months of phone calls to get an appointment and a price commitment, were quoted $300 to reseal the driveway! Very poor customer service and workmanship. I've used these guys for a number of years and have always been happy with their work, if not their main-office customer service. They're typically hard to get a hold of and can be irritating at times. This year they had scheduled an appointment a number of times over the past month but, due to weather or bad communication, I've gone through 5 different days where I've had to juggle my schedule, only to learn that they wouldn't be able to make it. Today I called them to see when they would arrive and was told that they had no idea because the office doesn't know where their crews are. As luck would have it, another paving company was sealing a neighbor's driveway and agreed to do mine, so I called them to cancel. They said that they were on their way to my house..really?...five minutes ago they said that they didn't know where their crews were. It's time to end this dubious business relationship. read more

We had a driveway put in by them. The workers were very messy, left tools and supplies all over and trampled my neighbors flower bed. I was also supposed to have a step installed and at 5 months post driveway I am still waiting for a resolution. I love the way my driveway looks but it has been very frustrating! read more

Unless you enjoy grief and aggravation, AVOID this company like the plague. After scheduling to have a blacktop driveway and concrete apron, sidewalk, and outdoor patio installed, our job was delayed four months past its original start date. Repeated calls were met with more false promises. Fast forward 7 months later, our concrete work has developed numerous cracks. The blacktop driveway is showng serious cracks and loose asphalt, for which I had to hire another paving company to repair at additional cost. I won't even get into the splashed concrete on my newer vinyl siding. read more

In 2014 I wrote: My company was retained by Capozzi to provide a service. After we provided the service they complained that the price was too high. As a compromise I agreed to a trade for services and they were to pave my parking lot. ....well that was two full years and countless promises ago. It makes me sad because the promises sounded so sincere. My update in 2016: We never did get paid. Paul sounds like the perfect gentleman, but he owes me about $4,000 and apparently has no plans of paying it. read more

Horrible people. Horrible customer service. I honestly have no idea how these people are still in business. The Secretary is rude, the "scheduler" who also happens to be "supervisor" is never in. I offer this as an honest warning to those considering contracting with Capozzi Paving. As repeat customers, we are truly disrespected and appalled with our experience, and would not recommend them to anyone. The office staff was negligent with scheduling and response time. We were initially scheduled to have our stamped concrete patio poured on June 10th. I called the office on the 9th and the 10th to confirm the appointment by leaving messages, but did not receive a return call until the 11th. Understandably due to weather, that date needed to be rescheduled again to the 13th; however, no one called to confirm, delaying both my husband and I from work as we tried to reach someone to see if we needed to stay home. I never heard from anyone. I left messages again on the 19th and the 20th and received no return call; however, with only 15 minutes notice, a crew was at our home on the 21st. The concrete was poured and stained on the 23rd and we were told the crew would return within 2-3 days to power wash and seal the concrete. I did not hear from anyone as 2-3 days came and went, and left a message on the 26th. I never heard from anyone until complaints started being filed, as described below. While the quality of Ryan's crew's work was acceptable with regards to the concrete, we were very disappointed in their disrespect of our yard. First, they told us they were unable to remove all of the dirt from the excavation of the patio area and asked my husband if they could leave some of it and remove it the next day. He agreed, but asked them to be careful of our flowers. The dirt was dumped on top of three small flowering bushes. Furthermore, they did not remove it after pouring the concrete, but instead dumped unused concrete on top. It sat in our yard for weeks. Ryan's team also left supplies in our front and backyard after completing the pour and stamp, including a bucket of stain, a wheelbarrow, the wood framers, and a shovel head. They did not notify us or ask permission to do this. Additionally, while we realize that the laying of concrete can be messy, Ryan's crew was careless in their work. Piles of concrete were left well outside the patio area. One was left at least 10ft from the slab and another exceptionally large one was dumped nearby. Both of these should have been picked up once dry before the team left. The team also left garbage in our yard as they worked, including cigarette butts in the excavated concrete area and lawn and a coffee cup in the dirt pile. This carelessness was also experienced when our driveway extension was poured in summer 2013. On June 28th, I faxed a written formal complaint detailing the above information and providing photo evidence of the careless work and materials left in our backyard. On June 29th, I received a voicemail from Nick, president of the company, apologizing and promising the job would be completed on June 30th or July 1st at the latest. No one came either of those days. When I called the office to speak to him on July 1st, I was told he was on vacation for the week and to contact Tony, who completed the sketch and estimate of our patio. For the rest of the week, my husband and I exchanged phone calls with Tony, who gave us excuses and empty promises of the work's completion. One week after the faxed complaint, the job remained uncompleted; therefore, a complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau on July 5th, which is logged on their website. Nick called on July 7th after receiving the BBB complaint, offered excuses, and assured me a crew would come July 9th to complete the work. He refused to offer us any compensation on the job as requested in the BBB complaint. Despite repeated explanation of the incompetence detailed above, he would not consider a discount of any kind, nor any complimentary services. He cited that Tony had already given us a discount as repeat customers, a challenging year, and poor profit margins - nothing to do with our poor experience. On July 8th, Ryan's crew again showed up unannounced. Our patio was finally power washed and sealed and our yard was cleaned up; however, they did not seal an area approximately 4ft x 8in around our hose, as they could not stop a drip. I called and left a voicemail to schedule a time to finish the sealing, as the drip had been remediated; however, Paul strongly told me that they felt that the contract had been fulfilled and would not return until we had paid them. If we wanted it done sooner, we would have to pay an additional cost, even though we felt the job had not been completed properly. He said they would return within two weeks without a cost, but only if we paid first. I closed the BBB complaint, on which Nick responded that I had insisted on "getting something for free" and implied that I had been unreasonable. Far be it from me to expect quality customer service and contracting work, especially as a returning customer who filed a significant complaint against the company. read more

I gave three stars to be fair, because knowing the last review from Andrew K is a completely falsified and dishonest review. Andrew is a tenant of the property; therefore doesn't maintain or upkeep the property. His landlord doesn't maintain much either. I am also a property owner in the area. That driveway has been in shambles and destroyed for quite some time; it is absolutely ABSURD for this tenant to suggest that this company come onto the property and did such extensive damage to that blacktop and left it that way; COMPLETE LIE! The landlord is piecemealing the work and doesn't want to pay for the entire driveway to be replaced so chose only sections. I'm surprised this company even took the job; most wouldn't want to take on a piecemealed job like that.. FOR THIS REASON!! What job looks good when you are picking and chosing sections and keeping older destroyed sections? I wouldn't have wanted my company name on that for the fact that it looks half done; AT THE OWNERS REQUEST! Hopefully they will learn their lesson with this one! Had a good experience with this company several years ago when they did my back patio. Different story when they replaced my front walk from the driveway to the front door. They told me they were coming on Friday August 2nd to do the job, Fine. August 1st, my wife and I had some running around to do so we left home and left one of our cars in the driveway in front of the walk. Came home to find a Capozzi guy there with a bobcat ripping up the old paving stones. No problem with that except no one called to tell us he was coming. Because we left our car in front of the walk, he drove across our lawn with the bobcat and didn't put down any protective wood. Then he dumped all the spoil in the MIDDLE of our lawn. Long story short, we have several deep gouges in our lawn and a big 20'X20' bare patch where he dug up the lawn to pick up the spoil. After calling them numerous times to come and repair the lawn, no call back, no answer whatsoever. I will not use this company again nor recommend to anyone else. I should never have paid the full amount for the work until they fixed my lawn. read more

Years ago, I had a concrete pad put in next to our garage from Capozzi Paving. Wire mesh was on the ground to be placed along with stone under the concrete. In ONE year it was severely cracked and the pavement was slopping drastically.{cracking is normal...they said}. My neighbor said that as soon as I left for work the day the job was being done, the worker threw the mesh back in the truck and never used it on my pad. How could I prove this to Capozzi? Now I am having the driveway and pad replaced. SURE enough NO MESH {which I PAID for} and hardly any stone under the pad {thus explains why it CRACKED and SLOOPED so badly}!! Also I paid the for a 4" pad, the crew I have today showed me it was less than 3" in the center and a little thicker on the sides. Capozzi made it look like it was 4" and it was only 4" one the sides [where you could see the thickness]....NOT in the center or against my foundation!!! NEVER, NEVER USE this company......they are LIARS and CHEATS!!! read more
