We were seated right away. The staff was very pleasant and friendly and attentive at first. The place is a little on the pricey side but we expected that. We ordered some charcuterie which was fine. I got the halibut and it was plated nicely but severely lacked any salt. There wasn't any on the table and the staff were all too busy to stop by and ask us how our food was. We celebrated my aunt's birthday today and everything was amazing! First of all, walking into the restaurant we were greeted very pleasantly by the staff. The chandeliers and decor is beautiful. We started with calamari and mozzarella- both very yummy. As for the main dishes, they were ALL good but the Lobster Ravioli and the Seafood Zuppetta are a must try! I struggled with the 3 to 4 stars for Sunday morning brunch. I really did. Upon our arrival, my husband asked the staff if the oysters were freshly shucked and was told no. They were shucked the night before and kept moist. The sole reason to only 3 stars was the fact that the oysters were not shucked on site...that morning! I love raw oysters but I'm not comfortable with eating dead ones! Everything else seriously deserves 5 stars. From the classic but ordinary omelet station to the pate` to the sushi with at least a dozen toppings including salmon caviar to the incredibly tender lamb chops. That and lets not forget the made to order Eggs Benedict. No soggy english muffins here! The quality and quantity of flavored butters for bagels as well as smoked salmon was equally as impressive. My boyfriend and I ate here last minute on Saturday night! We had reservations for another restaurant in AC that we ended up not being able to make, so we got back on the Open Table app and this was the only restaurant that had a wide range of available reservations last minute. This made me a little bit nervous because all of the other well-known Italian restaurants were completely booked because it was a Saturday night in the beginning of summer. We walked in 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. It was pretty fancy inside, with strange Italian paintings on the walls. The view was gorgeous if you sat in the back part of the restaurant near the huge windows that looked out on the beach/ocean, however from table we did not get to We had a few different waiters come over to get our drink menus and explain specials to us. As a matter of fact, we had about 3 different waiters the entire time we were there. Normally I wouldn't like this, but there was always one of them nearby which was nice. We each ordered a glass of wine. I ordered a pasta dish and he ordered a filet and soft shell crab with lobster sauce (something like that!) Funny Thing about Hotel / Casino Restaurants either they make it or they don't no in between. Either its a main stay that has been there forever or it doesn't last a year. 35 Plus years Capriccio has been churning it out at Resorts and finally I found out why they are still there. Arrive to a never have been renovated I'm told Gorgeous Italian architecture designed elegant dining room that overlooks the boardwalk and beach and ocean. It must be something in the summer but on this cold December night it was still very nice. Well designed everything from the Tables, chairs, flatware, china table cloths you name it, in short impressive. Quickly greeted by a bevy of servers with water, and some of the best restaurant bread around. Mix of Semolina, french, some flat bread sticks with top shelf Olive oil, cheese for dipping poured table side. Butter offered but declined. Some drinks ordered, a carafe of wine and we are off to the races. Appetizers Delicious Fried Calamari lightly done, with Marinara for dipping. Top Shelf. Stuffed Long Hots with Pork and breadcrumb stuffing with melted provolone on top absolute home run. 2 Meatballs with Marinara ok this was an epic failure unfortunately as they were ice cold not very tasty and sauce put over the top of them as they were not cooked in the Marinara "Sunday Gravy" ... in short this is the reason for the missing 5th star. Entrees House Special Veal Osso bucco was a MOUNTAIN Of Veal Shank and I don't say that lightly very tasty with delicious Risotto. A 10 Grilled Lamb Chops 4 really good sized double cut chops as fresh and tasty as anything I've had out. Veal Francaise ok simple right well hands down without question the best I've ever had in my entire life. Two very large veal Scalapini pieces with the perfect amount of egg, butter, with some sort of LEMON KICK that I've never tasted. I'd fly back just for that. Sides of Mashed potatoes and sting beans were average. Passed on coffee and desert as we were off to tee the show. Summing it up a stunning room, fabulous service, quality presentation, food and flavor on just about everything. Already spoke to the meatballs as the knock there will go with 4.75 Stars :). The restaurant overlooks the boardwalk and it's beautiful inside. Staff was very welcoming-- when we arrived. When they gave us our bread they forgot to bring our olive oil and salt and pepper so we had to wait a while before we could even touch the bread. We ordered wine and beer. When the beer came out for my boyfriend the waiter was preparing to bring over the beer and dropped the bottle and beer spilled out. I waited to see if he thought we wouldn't see it just to see what he would do-- and I was right; he picked up the spilled bottle of beer and proceeded to bring it to our table and pour it. I stopped him and asked for a fresh bottle and he responded "I wasn't going to charge you for the next one". First of all, it's not about the money, it's about me having a full freshly poured FULL bottle of beer and second of all how do you know if we would even want a second bottle of beer??? He thought we didn't see he dropped the beer and was not going to tell us. When we finally ordered, we waited a terribly long time for the calamari appetizer... except the appetizer never came and they sent out our meal first. The waiter offered to "put our calamari in real fast and will come out in 5 minutes" but my party of 5 was no longer interested since we had our main dish in front of us that we waited for almost an hour for. The Seafood Zeppetta was very good-- seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, . The only problem is it had about 10 noodles. Most people complain about not having enough protein/meat in their dish--- they had a lot of seafood but not enough pasta. Also, no one came back to ask us how the food was and how we were doing. Advice to the restaurant: just because we are a large party engaging in conversation doesn't mean we're not looking at the clock waiting on our food, nor that we're not too busy talking to not be asked how we're doing. My friends had the sea bass special which I tried and had barely any flavor. The sea bass seemed fresh but I wouldn't order it again because it didn't taste great. They also took 15 minutes to bring our bill back-- said there was a problem with the machine. Really, overall, it was too long of a wait and the service was subpar. We chose this place for dinner during a business trip and drove all the way from NYC to Atlantic City, I am underwhelmed. read more

Located inside the second floor of the Resorts Casino, Capriccio is tucked away Italian restaurant that caters to a lot of regulars and hotel visitors. While my experience with the restaurant's decor (old looking chairs, strange dessert display by check-in) and service (5 minutes to get seated, about another 10 before I was able to order after being seated) is substandard, but the following rating will have complete focus on the food ordered. To summarize before going into details, my experience is simply of one visit and of 4 menu items. Capriccio has fresh ingredients, but the menu items can be hit-or-miss, but definitely does not follow through their their online website statement as the "Best Italian Restaurant". Going to Capriccio for my first time, I decided to select a menu items representative of standard Italian course menu with emphasis on different highlighted cooking ingredients. I settled on getting the Shrimp and Crabmeat Antipasti, Halibut Soup, Veal Parmesan, and a Tiramisu dessert. Of the dishes, I could divide the following dishes into two categories: 1) Deliciously standard, but uninventative. 2) Preparation style compromises the main ingredient. While these two categories may come off as quite negative, Capriccio was not necessarily a below average eat - the food was amazingly fresh, but provided the pricing and how they are selling themselves off as the 'Best Italian Restaurant' if searched on Google, diner expectations are heightened. To start off with the positives. I liked the tiramisu, it had a great texture with a good combination of espresso and sweetness. At least from my experience with the tiramisu, this might the reason desserts are showcased in the front because they are good and ended the dinner on a good note. The Shrimp and Crabmeat Antipasti was fresh and the endives were a fun addition without tampering with the seafood's freshness. Those two dishes were in my opinion above average in taste, but prepared in a rather safe, textbook fashion (aside from the endives). Having started with the Shrimp and Crabmeat Antipasti and noting the freshness in the seafood, I was looking forward to the Halibut Chowder seeing there are near unlimited ways one can create chowder providing the restaurant the opportunity to display culinary excellence. Unfortunately while the halibut was fresh and quite good alone, the chowder base of hot tomatoes and strong herbs that might of been more suitable for a pizza if the base was thicker heavily masked the halibut's flavor leaving only the texture of the halibut for eater's to discern its freshness. As for the Vitello (Veal Parmesan), the veal is a huge, but thin cut. From the quantity perspective, the veal was spot-on, but due to the cut's thinness, the amount of breading to meat ratio was quite larger which was a problem because of how simple and unappealing the breading was. A thicker veal cut of the same quantity would of made the dish better, but the breading which can be defined as breaded butter was not very appetizing and overwhelmed the flavor of the veal. If you replaced the veal with a similar cut of chicken, it would probably taste similar. And while I understand that a Veal Parmesan might not be the best dish for displaying culinary skillsets, it is a standard menu item within an Italian restaurant and can be very telling if done poorly. Ultimately, Capriccio is good but not great. A recommendation more suitable for convenience than for an Italian eat. read more

I don't know how to review this place as an Italian restaurant for I dined here as a Sunday Brunch Experience. Once you look past the Fancy Retirement Home-Type Decor, you realize your sitting inside a Brunch-Diamond in the Retirement-Home Rough. The brunch was spectacular! As soon as you walk-in you see the Tack of lamb sitting next to the Prime Rib which is next to the waffle maker that is a couple of stations down from the Omelettes. That's just the intro. Because you literally don't get to walk past the bar before you see that love affair. Once we got to the bar the staff was very friendly and made a great impression on me. Not to mention the fact that I was surrounded by desserts as I spoke to the bartender and he poured me a nice Mimosa. The view of the Ocean is Spectacular and the Brunch follows suit. If the decor could be updated just a Tad, I would have given the restaurant a raging 5 stars but the food selection and quality kept this place at a 4. But definitely pay them a visit and MAKE RESERVATIONS. read more

I came here with my family on January 18th I had planned to celebrate my Birthday there. But, we had a terrible time. The waiter came over to take our drink order and I think he was upset that 3 out of the 4 people at dinner ordered club sodas. I said I was going to drink the plain water, because at that time I was sure if i was eating fish or steak and I wanted to get a bottle of wine that went with the meal. After, I drank the water I realized it was like drinking the ocean water. I then asked for a club soda. It took him 20 minutes to bring it to me after the table asked for it three different times. Then we ordered and I ordered shrimp with angel hair, it was one of the specials. It was so bland. I had to add salt, pepper and grated cheese before it tasted half way decent. The restaurant itself has a beautiful decor. But, when the waiters and the chef can't get it right what's the use of a restaurant looking good? So I came here for my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. We made reservations for 8:00PM, but we showed up early and managed to get a table by 7:30PM. We booked a table by the window to see the beautiful view. We ordered and while we waited they served us some free bread, which was pretty good. Our appetizer came out pretty quickly, although the main course did take quite a while. Must try their lemonade, it tastes so fresh, best lemonade I ever had. We also had the best service. Shout out to JOSE M and JOSE V. They are the funniest waiters. They really communicate with the customers, and we just felt so welcomed. Omg lets me tell you, I took my family for Father's Day dinner just the the three of us. I originally made reservations for 1 o'clock but anybody who ever stayed in Atlantic City knows you oversleep (from staying up to late), then my son wanted to go to the pool so that pushed us back a little. I called and pushed the reservations to 5:30, which gave us time. When we arrived I forgot the brunch is over a 3:30, I knew that I made a mistake so we wind up staying for dinner. I must say I don't know how the brunch was but my dinner was so good I forgot to take pictures of it. My husband had to surf and turf and I had a seafood pasta dish with all my favorite seafood in it. I had shrimps, scallops, lobster, and crab meat also muscles it was so good. My sons pasta dish was amazing too. The waiters and service was excellent the maître d' was nice and the place is gorgeous. I would definitely return in the future. My husband ordered an $18 stuffed artichoke and it was stuffed with plenty of bread filling but no artichoke meat on each leaf. Extremely Disappointing! He had chicken Marsala which was very good. This restaurant is such a hidden gem and well worth trying. We were looking for a foodie's dinner experience before a concert and boy did we get it. From the moment we were greeted by the manager - we felt special. The decor takes your breath away and the warm and attentive wait staff are the best. We tried the Fettuccine Alfredo with vegetable primavera and the Salmon. Both were absolutely delicious. The Fettuccine was light and perfectly seasoned. My father & I went to Capriccio for his 85th birthday. We were greeted and then sat by George & Elvie. They couldn't have been friendlier. Our servers were so attentive and friendly. We started with a fantastic antipasto that included the most delicious fig jelly that we spread on the toasted thin sliced Italian bread. Dinner was Linguini with red clam sauce which was loaded with succulent clams and Chicken parmigiana over linguini. The pasta is home made and the best I have ever had! For dessert they brought my father tiramisu with happy birthday written on white chocolate with a lady finger with raspberries and a delicious cream on top. He said it was scrumptious. I used to come here every time I went to Atlantic City. A beautiful setting with excellent food and service - it was - until we came for a pre fixe dinner on Thanksgiving day. It included a soup, turkey entree and a dessert for $45 p/p. The soup was OK, the dessert was OK, but TURKEY was the most horrible thing I've ever tried! It was dry dry dry and no amount of gravy and cranberry sauce could make it edible! The potatoes and stuffing were dry as well! And on top of this I found a RUBBER BAND in the turkey! Of course, this entree was comped, and they gave me a free dessert, but I am not happy! The rest of my family had the same horrible turkey! It totally destroyed my family's Thanksgiving dinner!
