This is a typical tourist trap catering to visiting tourist and wannabe locals wanting to be seen at a supposedly fine dining restaurant. The quality of the food was perhaps a one star with a five star pricing structure. As an example the short ribs were more of a pot roast consistency with canned salted gravy. We had a table of six diners and all but one had a poorly cooked and presented meal. The wait staff are poorly trained with little guidance on table management and diner interaction. We commented to several wait staff members since we didn't have an assigned waiter about the quality of the food and were directed to a gentleman having a drink with another person at one of the front tables as the owner and that we should speak with him, we passed on that for obvious reasons. If visiting Rincon for dining you would be best served avoiding this restaurant and the poorly prepared and overpriced food. I'm only writing a review to save you from an overpriced and awful experience. I would not even categorize this as an Italian restaurant. They make most of their dishes using sweet peas, carrots, and a knock off version of Alfredo sauce. We were lured in by the amount of people at this place on a Saturday night and the reviews below, but please please stay away. They couldn't even execute the basic pastas such as carbonara and linguine with clams. For $32 a dish, I expected much more. Nice staff but ultimately very dissatisfying and inedible food. read more

I did not eat here so cannot talk about the food. I tried but as I was alone I was told I could only sit outside, alone, like a dog!!!! I left no way to treat a paying customer. Solos are people too....we are all subject to being alone one day. I hope other places do not treat you like a second class citizen simply because you partner died. read more

In the beginning I was not exited about having "italian" food in Puerto Rico and I'm extremely glad we did! This is an amazing place, we were a group of 20 and everyone was sharing multiple appetizers and every single one of them was delicious. My favorite appetizer was the ravioli which was not overly cooked and the sauce was very flavorful. My main entree was the skirt steak which was to die for... it was very tender you could cut it with your fork, you can really taste all the spices with a hint of garlic. The menu is very diverse including ostrich, deer meat, kobe (american of course) and they age their own steaks. Recommend to reserve ahead of time since is a small establishment and it was very packed all the time. Highly recommended, I'm definitely coming back on my next trip to the island. read more

My silverware was dirty and our food was cold. The waiters were very nice in trying to fix things but half way through the dinner the owner came and asked why we needed so much attention. This place has been our must go to place for delicious food and great service for many years. The place had somewhat of an uplift. Can't say it was for the better because the tables are very small and not very comfortable for 4 people. Much to our disappointment today the food was delicious as always but the service needs an uplift. The waitress staff was not friendly nor courteous. We had to sit at a table not to our liking only because dique their application for reservations picks your table and they cannot accommodate you elsewhere. WTF! If this was part of the uplift, I'm sorry it's not patron friendly. As the waitresses. I take that back one of them was very nice. Again much to my surprise also the tall blonde woman behind the bar also must have been having a bad day. Nasty! Just nasty! I can't remember the Chef's name we met him there twice and he is awesome. This is the BEST restaurant we have ever been to all the way around! Everyone works as a team. There were 4 of us on vacation passing through on Valentines Day with NO reservations. We are restaurant owners in Upstate NY and we know what it takes! The matradee's name was Arion who greeted us and was immediately accommodating, considering the place was packed and there was a line out the door of reservations & walk-ins. He immediately had a table cleared off outside for us and sat us within 5 minutes. We were immediately greeted by a lovely lady with water and delicious garlic butter rolls. Another beautiful lady named Christina (wanda?) came & took our drink order & told us the incredible list of specials, which she had completely memorized. Every staff member had the most professional, top of the line, classy uniform we've EVER seen. We felt like we were in a 5 star resort the way the restaurant is run. I ordered the seafood stuffed eggplant and pasta with alfredo sauce and my boyfriend ordered the lobster special with veggies. Both our dishes were delectable. Our friends ordered chicken marsala & Kobee steak. All dishes were succulent & cooked with perfection. Presentation on EVERY dish brought from the kitchen were award-winning! We did not have dessert, as we were too full however, again the desserts and presentation were the best we've seen anywhere (and we travel a lot). Lastly, the final touch was perfect...our bill brought to us in a brown suede treasure chest with the name of their restaurant on the box. Inside with our bill were cute mints. This was the best restaurant in ALL of Rincon and we happened to "stumble upon it" for our Valentine's Day dinner so I want to share it with all of you! To start, we had a 7:00 reservation. when we arrived the restaurant was full and we could tell most tables did not have food. we were concerned about the wait and asked. Told appetizers pretty quick. That was the only response. We were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. When our drinks arrived we placed our entree orders. Bread was brought to the table so we did not order appetizers. The bread was delicious. Then we sat and sat and sat waiting for our food. We asked about our food. Our entrees we're delivered at 9:30. we ordered 2 chicken piccata to split between 3 people. The chicken was tough on both orders. The other person had the eggplant. She said it was very good. also ordered a Caesar salad. It was undressed and bland. The server was pleasant. Atmosphere of restaurant basic. It was not a good experience. Walked in to try the restaurant twice... First time they were too busy (but no one was there) second time we sat for 20 minutes without service. There is no wine list and all the wine that was opened sat without a cork. The smell of garlic was overwhelming... we left due to the unorganized feel.. also a woman was complaining about the food and we decided if it's that bad it's not worth waiting for... Capriccio Tratorria was the first restaurant to catch my attention walking into Rincon's central plaza. A "chalkboard style" outer wall displays a list of original dishes and specials available on which days of the week. Seafood stuffed Eggplant and Alfredo lasagna are some of the most apparent selections. My family made reservations for 7, about 20 minutes before walking in, and were seated without a hitch. A seemingly systematic, yet welcoming series of people greeted and directed us to our seats, where ice water (somewhat of a rarity in Puerto Rico) waited atop white linens. A sharply dressed man wearing all black presented the night's specials with a soft Spanish accent, matching the restaurants soft lighting. Soon after, a charismatic character named Fred introduced himself as our waiter for the night, and recommended a handcrafted drink from the bar. We left it up to the bartender, asking for "something different, with whiskey" and waited for the results... Out came a series of cocktails, each one unique, layden with fresh herbs or vegetables and an enchanting amount of alcohol. To start, we ordered the larger appetizer platter; I was not previously familiar with a single item on the 2 foot long white plate - the way tapas should be. Everything was handmade, from the chicken stuffed sweet peppers, to the shredded ham and cheese salad with alfalfa sprouts. In all honesty, this meal was our "big splurge" as a family, but the generous portions and high-grade ingredients made the prices seem low, and way less scary to my mother. The parental portions of our party stuck to the sea with their orders; a lobster stuffed sweet plantain and that day's Red Snapper in a white wine sauce. While the kids sampled a variety of pastas; Primavera vegetables with herb oil, Carbonara Alfredo, Seafood Alfredo, and Tenderloin steak pasta - All at prices close to what you can expect at Olive Garden for a similar dish, except instead of sauce from a bag, Capriccio alfredo is made in house. Our waiter Fred, a master wineasaurous, who honed his skills working with Royal Caribbean and their top-deck guests, selected their house cab as a compliment to our meals. Fred says, "good isn't good enough. We only tolerate excellence" (or something like that, the drinks were taking effect at that point of the story). His claim was hard to argue when he offered up a sample of his personal recipe hot sauce, in a little Johnny Walker Black whiskey bottle. Why not go totally over the top? Puerto Rico is technically part of the States, so we figured a flaming Baked Alaska was appropriate for desert. Small Argentinian-Italian style food in the middle of Rincon. It has an extensive menu, good daily specials and vegetarian choices. The pizza, fish, lasaña and risotto are amazing. Stir away from soup, chicken Marsala, bacalaitos montaitos, it's nothing special. The service is ok, but if you are going for dinner make sure to make a reservation and get a confirmation for it on the phone. We were a party of 6 made a reservation a head of time and it wasn't registered, so we ended up waiting an hour. Ambiance is ok, but they really need to cool it with the Enya crap running on a loop. Wine list is limited but acceptable. Must try the house desserts. It's on the expensive side, portions are small, if you know what to order their food and wait can be worth it. read more

This is my second visit to this restaurant and I have to say it is getting better and better each time. I had a red snapper fillet which came with a delicious sauce, pasta with pesto as a side. We also shared the spinach strawberry salad which was very good. The presentation for all the meals was exceptional. The waiter and all the servers were very professional, courteous and pleasant. My husband had the tuna, medium rare, which he said was delicious. This restaurant has plenty of ambiance, romantic lighting, attractive interior. Prices are very reasonable. The line was bit long and the service was unorganized in terms of asking how many you had with you, putting your name on a list etc. You just have to stop a server and let them know really. This place could use a hostess since they get slammed and the servers are busy as heck. Once you are seated though, the menu doesn't do justice for how delicious the food was! I had the fruta de mare linguini and it was filled with octopus, mussels, huge shrimps, and large chunks of fish and calamari. I had it with armadillo or something spelled similar, which was lightly fried plantains and they were excellent. Completely devastated by this place. Went with my family including my two year old and 2 month old daughters. As we were leaving the restaurant one of the waiters accidentally opened the glass doors pinching my two year olds hand. He saw what happened and kept walking without saying a word while she desperately cried. My father pointed out to him what he had just done and that he did not even apologize. The owner started screaming at my father minimizing what had happened to my two year old (she was still crying and holding her little fingers) and told us to leave his restaurant.
