Let's start off with how the bread went from a sub bun to that of a brat bun, the filling used to over flow and it was hard to keep them from falling onto the butcher block paper. This was my first time going to this sandwich shop & it won't be my last. In fact will be my sandwich shop of choice over my previous favorites Jersey Mike's & Hungry Hobo from now on! The service was friendly, polite, and answered all my questions about their menu. Me and my wife tried two of their most popular sandwiches. We tried the WAGYU Slaw Be Jo and the Philadelphy Cheese Stake. All sandwiches are on a pillowy soft French Loaf. WAGYU Slaw Be Jo is a cold sandwich with as the name says American WAGYU Beef, provolone cheese & Really good Coleslaw. Next was the Philadelphy Cheese Stake with Sirloin stake (a WAGYU option is available too) provolone & mushrooms and onions on the side (wife doesn't like those) it's all good!! The store is spacious and looks sort of like a New York Sandwich shop. With brick faced walls, stainless steel containers, and black row and free standing tables and chairs. It clean and simple as well. A bit on the price on the pricy side but well worth it. They offer 4 different sandwich sandwich size 5",8",10,&12". Sorry no pics this time. $1.79 for a cookie plus $2.59 for a pop equals $4.38, but if you get the combo deal they charge $4.59. They charge an extra 21 cents for making it a combo meal. I added photos of the menu. Decent food. They were out of soups when I was there. Had the wagyu roast beef sandwich (decent) and a salad of Balsamic chicken. Did the pick 2. Price was fair. Sandwich was slightly small but great flavors. Salad had fresh chicken with good flavors, had some nuts and raisins in there too. Last time in, I came in kind of late, not too long before closing. They were very kind as they locked their doors, and let me and my friend sit in there ,and finish our meals without trying to rush us out. Much appreciated. Service is very good. We have always wanted to try this place and finally got to order two sandwiches. They were pricey, almost 20 dollars for both! No drinks or anything is included... when we sat down to eat, the guy at the cash register said 'so you know, we are closing in 6 minutes' in such a rude manner, asking us to leave even before we took a bite! Unfriendly and super expensive subs! This place was good back years ago until they made their sandwiches smaller and upped the prices! The bread has changed since then too not nearly as fresh as it used to be. Our two favorites are the Bobbie (which is a turkey and dressing sandwich) and the Philly cheesesteak. If you aren't from Dubuque County, Iowa, you might not know about turkey and dressing sandwiches. But these folks do, and they make 'em better than any other place in Iowa. Heaven on a roll. The cheesesteak is amazing, as many other reviewers have said. Portions are on the big side; we don't mind that, because we like to eat half for lunch and half for dinner. Four meals for the price of two. We've been to three of their stores, and the staff is always friendly, even joking. The food gets a 5 on flavor, the appearance and wetness of my sandwich gets a 2, and the ambience gets a 1. I ordered a meatball sub to eat in. For some reason they wrapped it. When they did, they squeezed the marinara all out of the sandwich and it was almost impossible to hold without getting covered in it. The flavor was great. The hand rolled meatballs are good by themselves but when put on the Italian sub with melted cheese it's awesome. While eating, I was the only one in the store. The staff were joking around cursing occasionally and making puking sounds. It got so loud and annoying that I stood up so they would see me there. So I came to this place I know it's a big food chain but I wanted to leave a fast review. This place wasn't terrible, but I've had it a lot better. Today I ordered two different sandwiches. First was The Bobbie : which is a (Thanksgiving Sandwich) inside is shredded turkey and stuffing with cranberry sauce with mayo. It was alright, which I am surprised because I had it here once before and it was amazing , but today it wasn't unfortunately it was just a plain taste to me this time . The other was the Capastrami this one here is my favorite at this place you all should know in my previous reviews I love a good pastrami sandwich, This one is served with pastrami, coleslaw and thousand island dressing, it's a good combination I enjoyed it The service was good and fast they always greet you at the door very friendly . This place still has a good sandwiches it's a Hit or Miss place I guess you can say. I still recommend this place to people when it's good they're food is really good. Capritotti's is one of the few places in the QC that has Vegetarian meat sandwiches!! I was amazed I hadn't heard of this place sooner because of this! My friend got a turkey sandwich and said their turkey was wonderful. For me, I got a Vegetarian Bobbie (forewarning, the stuffing does have chicken broth in it). I also got a Veggie Cole Turkey. Both of these were amazing! I've gone back 4-5 times since visiting them about a month or two ago. The location is the only reason I don't go daily! I don't often do five star reviews - I'm like that pain in the butt teacher who never gives out A+'s b/c really is anyone ever perfect? But Capriotti's was as good as a sandwich place can get. I had the Capistrami - cold. I was trying to recreate an East Coast type sandwich that I love love love. It was delicious. The medium was more food then any sane person should consume in one sitting. Full disclosure - I ate the whole thing. I took one for the team. The pastrami was excellent quality, the bread was doughy, chewy and soft - what a sub roll should be. This East coast gal has found her holy grail of sandwich shops. The price was high, but fair. My 12" was $10 including tax. Next time I will probably just go with a small - oh and save your reciept and do the survey to save $3 on your next meal. Finally the service was excellent. I hope Capriotti's thrives. I was there on a weeknight, at prime dinner time, and there were only two other folks inside. I'm hoping that doesn't continue as this is a top notch sandwich place.
