The dental assistant, Jasleen, was extremely rude and rushed through my daughter's cleaning in less than 2 minutes. When the doctor, Dr. Gangaji, came in and pointed out food particles still on her teeth--Jasleen half-heartedly claimed she "tried."It was clear she didn't put in any real effort. If she had, the teeth would have been cleaned properly. My daughter had just come from school, so we hadn't brushed her teeth beforehand, but that shouldn't have excused such a lack of thoroughness and care. Dr. Gangaji didn't remove stain from her teeth, that was the main reason we were there. I had to insist that the stains be removed, and after a second attempt, the teeth looked brighter but still not perfectly clean. It's clear that this dental clinic is not equipped or prepared to handle children's appointments properly. They should not even offer appointments for kids if they can't manage them with the care and attention required. I would not recommend this clinic to any parent looking for quality dental care for their child.

I've had dentists who pushed night guards, and other add on services. Now I'm sure each had positive therapeutic benefits. But I also know many of these things are 80%+ profit margins. Dr. Spencer proactively tailored her dentistry to save money and even removed a service that was on my invoice that didn't need to be there. After doing much research, I found The Dental Studio and was impressed by the many great reviews. I've had lots of work done since then, and the combination of sedation, nitrous oxide and their gentle hands have made my appointments enjoyable. Today, I had an appointment for a checkup, and I honestly had ZERO anxiety before the appointment. I no longer dread going to the dentist! And, I also appreciate how their office does not feel like a sterile medical office; it's cozy and decorated like your friend's home. They also think of every possible comfort for the patient, including sunglasses to alleviate the glare of overhead lights, a weighted blanket, a tv for watching any favorite show during your procedure, and more. Even more important is that Dr. Erica and her wonderful team take time to explain everything, including what they are doing and why. They want you to be as comfortable as possible. And there's a complete lack of judgment. In the past, I've had absolutely no control over my dental experiences. The work was performed with very little concern for my pain and comfort. I've even experienced being held down during a difficult procedure with no painkillers and the same thing happened with my son when he was three. Marathon Man, anyone? At The Dental Studio, I feel that I have regained that control and that I am more than just a number. It is truly a patient-oriented experience here. Dr. Susan Mazzei is the kindest, most compassionate health care professional I have ever met/been treated by. She cares so much about her patients - beyond anything you could possibly hope for in a dentist! She's incredibly knowledgeable and skilled of course, but it's the way she truly cares and goes the extra mile for her patients that makes her so great. For example, I had a "Marilyn Bridge" that another Dr. put in as a temporary fix and was always breaking off, leaving me with an embarrassingly ugly missing front tooth until the dentist could see me. When I started seeing Dr. Mazzei, she gave me her personal cell phone number in case I ever had an "emergency" - well I was home for holiday break from college and the tooth broke off on Saturday night when I was set to fly back to school in rural Pennsylvania on Monday! I called Dr. Mazzei to get her advice and she insisted on coming in ON A SUNDAY just to fix my tooth!!!! Seriously, what dentist or doctor do you know who would do something so kind and generous?!? Also, before we got married, my husband and I had our smiles transformed quickly and painlessly by Dr. Mazzei! First, my husband had lived with a big gap in his front teeth his whole life, which he HATED and made him self-conscious. His previous dentists had all said he would need a full set of braces and/or caps/veneers to fix - both options were too expensive/painful/annoying, so he just lived with the gap. I suggest he visit Dr Mazzei before we got married and she found a perfectly creative and inexpensive solution - that day she put one bracket set on the BACK of his teeth (so no ugly braces) and a set of rubber bands and in only a couple of days his teeth were perfect, just in time for our big day! I think it only cost under $100 (compare that to about $4k for braces he really didn't need!) I was born missing one front adult tooth and the other a peglateral, but you wouldn't know it to look at me, thanks to Dr. Mazzei! For my crazy teeth, Dr. Mazzei and her excellent surgeon colleague did an absolutely fantastic job replacing my bridge with a permanent, sturdy dental implant, so I could smile with confidence on my big day! Prior to this, all the dentists I visited said that I couldn't get an implant or that if I did, I would have to have an implant with no fake tooth attached for at least six months! Well Dr Mazzei found a way and the procedure was even about a third of the price of the other dentists I had gotten consultations from! 9 years later and the implant is still perfect and my husband's gap is still closed! Dr. Mazzei's new colleague, Dr. Esposito is also amazing! My 3 year old son, who is very sensitive, had a wonderful first cleaning with her! Office staff are top notch! Great scheduling and billing help. They always work with us to get appointments all at the same time etc. and no long wait times. Dr. Cheung is the "main guy" there (having succeeded the original owner) and has proven himself to be dependable, professional and truly concerned with helping all of his patients. We have also had experience with his associates, Dr. Rafikova and Dr. Regan. These are caring, friendly, professional people who concern themselves with not only being able to do top-notch dental work, but with putting the patient at ease. Example: last week I broke an old crown. They got me in the chair and fixed up with a new crown that afternoon! Maybe I got lucky, but they did it and the crown is great. The professionalism runs through the entire crew as well: hygienists and office staff as well. I never met the janitor, but I'm sure he (or she) is professional also!
