Hands down the best dentist office I've ever gone to! The hygienists are very friendly. They spend time with you to help you understand any health changes and any new changes in the mouth. They ensure you are comfortable and have a comfort menu. They explain everything. Dr Gantos is fantastic and so down-to-earth. She is honest about what I need to think about in my dental needs in the future. She's also told me about mouthguards to buy from Amazon instead of trying to sell me a $500 mouthguard like other dentists have. You can tell the folks in this office like their jobs! My dental hygienist on my last visit was Stephanie and she was so friendly and thorough! I also got to watch Netflix during my cleaning. They are great with my kids too. Not many offices want parents joining the kids during their cleaning. This office is totally fine with it and even have a chair for a parent to sit in without trying to make the parent feel like they are in the way, which is the reason we left out last dentist! read more

After going to this practice for almost 4 years I had the most terrible experience in my life two days ago. I was scheduled to extract 2 wisdom teeth on the same side with dr. Meredith Gantos. In the the beginning everything looked fine, the assistant was very nice and caring. Then the doctor came to do anesthesias and on the third pinch I felt so much pain going through my cheek, ear and then whole head. I had a lot of anesthesia in my life and never experienced anything even close. The pain was so strong I started to moan, but I heard only "you are doing great", and after that she did two more pinches and left the room. In a couple of minutes the assistant told that I need an x-ray. So we went to do so and I started feeling not well. When x-ray was in the process I felt that I'm about to pass out and I sat down on the floor to prevent fainting. We went back to the room and I felt worse and worse. The doctor came to ask me if I ate, which I did, and if want to eat and then left the room. Later I started to puke and shake. After that I felt better, huge thank you the assistant and the lady who cleaned after me. The doctor never came back to ask if I am ok until I asked to talk to her. When she came I wanted to hear what and why just happened (the dosage was too big for me? I'm petite, weight less than 100lb, or she did the pinch in the wrong spot? Or what?). She kept saying that she cannot finish the procedure because I don't feel well and nothing about why this happened. She said take your time and left again. I left the building and she didn't even check if I am ok, didn't check my blood pressure, knowing that I'm going to drive home myself. My mouth was numb from 10 am to 6 pm that day. Today is the third day and It still hurts to open my mouth widely. This practice will call you numerous times to reschedule your cleaning appointment but not even once to ask if you are ok after you almost passed out in their office. The hygienists are great, this one star goes to the doctor who didn't care about me and took zero liability for what happened. read more

I called GDG back in November to schedule a consultation for lip repositioning surgery. I told the office I did not want an exam and asked if I could transfer my dental records. They told me that was fine and they scheduled me for a complimentary consultation. I met with Dr. Gantos and she briefly discussed the procedure with me and took pictures in case I decided to proceed with the surgery. I also met with the patient coordinator and she discussed financing options for the procedure. There was no mention of any other charges before I checked out of the clinic. Last week, I received a text message from the clinic informing me that I owe them $98. Note this was FIVE months after my appointment. I called the office to get an explanation and the receptionist told me they never offered free consultations. She said she would leave a message for me and someone would call me back the following day. I didn't receive a response so I contacted the office again. This time I was told that the charge is not for the consultation, but instead it is for a service they termed a "limited exam." I wouldn't go so far as to say that this is a dishonest practice, but they definitely need to be more transparent about the cost of their services. read more

The online portal made forms and scheduling so easy. They reviewed insurance coverage and any possible cost ahead of time which was very appreciated. The office space is beautiful, modern, and inviting. I had the pleasure of being seen by Allison. She was kind, timely, gentle, and gave me amazing tips, tricks, and helpful feedback. I had my first appointment here the other week. (I had to find a new dentist since my old dentist wasn't taking proper Covid precautions.) Wow - extremely impressed!! Air purifiers, double masks, face shields, device to prevent extra aerosol, etc. they have it all down and take Covid seriously. The dentists here are excellent! Everyone is super nice and the facility is spotless. As someone not leaving the house right now, I definitely felt comfortable taking my mask off for a checkup and cleaning. This place is nothing short of amazing. I absolutely loved my visit. The office is beautiful, sparkly clean, and super chic. I was a new patient - I was greeted warmly and offered a beverage. When I was seated I was given a warm neck pillow and a massaging attachment to the dental chair (I felt so pampered). The assistants were extremely kind and genuine. When Dr. Gantos saw me, she was extremely kind and explained every thing she saw in my mouth. Most importantly she listened to me and acknowledged my complaints and worked with me to find solutions. Went there to get my teeth cleaned. I was expecting a 30 minute visit. Even assuming a full dental exam this should take an hour or hour and a half tops. My appointment lasted over 3 hours! Furthermore, my teeth were sensitive like crazy for close to a month afterwards. I couldn't drink anything cold for the longest time. I have never had that type of "cleaning" before. read more

I went to Meredith Gantos for a teeth cleaning and whitening treatment. Upon arrival, I couldn't help but notice the multitude of awards, certificates, and educational achievements Dr. Gantos has earned and achieved being displayed on the wall. The hygienist, assistant, and Dr. Gantos herself were extremely insightful, friendly, fun, and made this dental experience the best I have ever had. One of the first things I noticed when I laid in the chair was a "Comfort Menu" on the wall. This menu included free perks to help make your experience relaxing and enjoyable. The menu included things such as: headphones to listen to your own music, a movie from Amazon Prime to watch while being taken care of, various neck pillows, and even a professional hand holder. Typically, when I've gone to the dentist, I feel rushed, anxious, and ready to run out the door before the appointment even gets underway. On the comfort menu, it informs the patient if at any time they need a break, just to raise their hand and the session will stop for as long as the patient needs. No rush! The dental hygienist, Amanda, walked me through the entire cleaning process and kept me informed about every detail she was performing in order to expand my wisdom of the cleaning process. If I felt any pain, she never hesitated to apply more numbing gel to make the experience more enjoyable. Extremely knowledgeable, bubbly personality, and gentle! The assistant, Derriece, took care of the whitening portion of my visit. Very kind-hearted, knowledgable, and stuck around during the entire whitening process to ensure my comfortability, and to attend anything I might need. D was constantly smiling and full of positive energy. Dr. Gantos, came in and went over my X-rays with me before the cleaning and whitening began. She pointed out various problems with my teeth that other dentists have overlooked such as cavities under my fillings that have been building up for a little bit of time. Its extremely obvious that this office takes their time with you so you're not rushed, looks at the finest of details, and greatly cares about your overall experience with them. I seriously love this office. It had been more than two years since I had a cleaning and they were so nice and non- judgmental about it. I got my new patient exam (no cavities, woot!) and my cleaning done in the same visit. My hygienist was super sweet and kept asking if I was on any pain (they have a numbing jelly they can put on your gums) and Dr. Gantos came in, did my exam, was very personable and down to earth, and showed me a few potential problem areas they would keep their eye on. After getting a worse ever dentist experience with this doctor I looked at the mostly positive reviews here and I had to admit that at the beginning I was very impressed with this doctor. Would I wrote immediately my review it was also positive. I have also admitted that this doctor made the very first visit very impressive including a lot of attention, long conversations, albums with pictures from her free cure in poor countries. However, I waited for a real visit when I needed help. Below is a summary: 1. Nobody told me in advance that they are not with Cigna. As the matter of fact they are only with Delta. Apparently, providing a full information during the first visit is not a standard in this office. This is unusual and suspicious. 2. Dr. Gantos delegates to her assistants too much work that must be done by herself as a doctor and as one of the results her assistant wrongly assigned the color of my crown. The other hidden mistakes may not be seen at this moment. 3. She worked with me unprofessionally too quick. She explained me later about emergency situation which was not truth (I only lost a crown that was not seen). I was required to pay her "normal" high fee despite I did not receive a normal care. 4. In a very standard situation for very painful pre-crown tissue treatment she did not even suggested me anesthetic that was her obligation. Even her assistant in the office was shocked to hear this. 5. While I was in dental chair I was pressed to sign the payment obligation which was very offensive. 6. Her fees are unrealistically high while the service is lower than average. As the result all my family refused to visit this office. As the result I suggest avoiding this doctor as I believe that there are many much better doctors around in Naperville and near. read more

I have had a few dentist's throughout my life, but Dr. Gantos is by far my favorite. They offer complimentary WIFI and refreshments in the waiting room even though my wait was not long at all, while the staff is very professional and friendly. After my cleaning Dr. Gantos recommended a night guard for clenching which I am very pleased with, it has removed all the pain and discomfort I was experiencing in my jaw. I saw all of Meredith Gantos' good reviews and I really wanted to like Meredith Gantos. I gave so many opportunities to like her and she just threw them all away, just like my money. First off I tried calling her multiple times during business hours and her office never picked up. I then assumed she was busy so I gave them the benefit of doubt and I went in person to schedule my first appointment. It was a little hard to find her office but it wasn't that bad. When I came back to my first appointment I was "SO lucky" to have the first office with the view of the receptionist desk. It was not very professional looking on the other side of the door. They then decided to do at least 20 x-rays of my teeth which felt like I was going to get gamma poisoning. I have honestly never gotten that many x-rays ever in my life. I then got my gums checked and they were prodding like they were searching for gold. It was so rough that I was trying to grin and bear it because, you know "doctors are the professionals". The assistant then wanted to take a picture of my tooth in the back so she had a metal pick and a camera on a special device and she jammed that metal pick in between my teeth which hurt but I could deal with it. She was struggling to take a picture and didn't even ask to get help. Then she accidentally hit the metal pick and impaled my mouth. I winced in pain and wanted to cry. I thought I was going to get my teeth cleaned and polished the very same appointment. However Meredith Gantos said it would be best to do a laser cleaning of my teeth, which would be two separate appointments. Innocent me said ok. They sent me on my way saying they'd check if my insurance would cover it. Fast forward one week, I try calling again on early Friday afternoon, because I found out that the laser cleaning was going to have a co-pay of $500+. Guess what happened, I got sent straight to voicemail, surprise surprise. So I drive to her office to find out she's closed. I go online and find out she's pretty much only open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Great. I get a call Monday, I respond early Tuesday Morning (8:00ish) and asked if they could do a normal cleaning instead of the fancy cleaning. The receptionist said she'd have to wait until Meredith came in. I waited, and waited, now it's like 4:00pm and an hour after my scheduled appointment there. They said no they cannot do the normal cleaning. I tried to say that I only want the normal cleaning and nothing else. They refused to do anything with me unless I paid $500+. Charging a college student this much money and refusing service is completely unethical and rude. They were unwilling to help saying that there was irreversible damage and that the only way to fix it was with the $500 service. I quote "it's like putting a bandaid on a broken arm." They make you feel self conscious about your teeth and that everything is your fault. I then found a new dentist a week later, that I had to pay out of my own pocket because Meredith charged my insurance already and wouldn't clean my teeth. Had my cleaning done at the different office with no issues and laughed at Meredith the entire time because we all thought she was out of her mind. That or she had a new toy that she just wanted to try out on everyone. TL:DR - New Patient here. Wanted a standard cleaning. Could not get a hold of the office ever. Wanted to charge me $500+. Said no, I want a normal cleaning. They refused. I walked out. Told my entire family about it. They lost a family of 6 because of her stubbornness. read more

Dr. Gantos and I are extremely good friends, but that's not why I'm writing this review. I'm writing this because Dr. Gantos and her staff are phenomenal. I was greeted by a friendly face as soon as I walked in. They had free coffee, tea and water in the waiting room and service was speedy and very personable. When they bring you back to the room, they put on whatever Pandora station you want, they take you on a virtual tour of your teeth, which I thought was pretty cool and you can just tell from the get go that this staff absolutely cares about your dental health. I did not have a good experience with Gantos Dental. I had gone in two times in a year. The first time for a check up and x-rays, and when I left they gave me some paperwork recommending and scheduling me for a bunch of procedures that I really wasn't interested in. I did not want those procedures so ignored it. A few months later, I made an appointment for a regular teeth cleaning. And when I left they charged me $1200 saying that it was a "deep" cleaning. And yet one side of my mouth still had staining from tea that could've been easily removed! I can see where they cleaned the area around but must have missed those three teeth. I think this was because they were in a rush. As a self-paying person living off Social Security this was devastating for me. I had to put it on my credit card and I'm still trying to pay it off. Not to mention during my entire procedure they were apply a lot of high pressure sales tactics. If you're a nice person, or have good insurance, they will take advantage of up charging for anything they possibly can. read more
