Super friendly and personable staff, everyone was always checking in on you to make sure you are doing well. Day one on our adventures in Kauai kicked off with Captain Andy's. Book in advance. We decided on the catamaran particularly because it's still winter season and the pacific can be very choppy. The raft vessels I was wanted can be very jarring on your back. So glad for our choice! Tour was about 5 hours and included drinks and dinner. Our dinner included appetizer (crostini and shrimp), salad and filet mignon. The chef cooks on a grill at the back of the catamaran. Do keep in mind there's still A LOT of adventure. We had waves up to 5-6'. We ALL got drenched. Back of the boat is less intense. We sat up front in the seats with backs for support. There were times it felt like we were having a communal bath because the water came up to our heads and fully immersed us. Water proof clothing can help cut down the chill from the wind that follows. Absolutely loved our experience. Guides ensure your safety and double as photographers. If you're expecting a leisure cruise, please move on. If you're looking for part theme park ride with the most amazing views in the world, you found your place. Second time sailing with Captain Andy's and again an overall beautiful charter. Motored up the Napili coast with tons of turtle and dolphin sightings. Food was good cooked right on the boat which is much better than some other vessels that serve a pre-prepared box style lunch. They changed up a couple things since our last time limiting the cocktails that can be ordered, but still plenty of booze to be had around. I reviewed and asked quite a few people about sailing cruised along the Na Pali coast. I didn't hear one bad thing about any of the vendors. I did however choose Capt. Andy's based on a recommendation by a friend that travels to Kauai ofter and has family there. The Cruise to Na Pali is spectacular! My family did the sunset dinner cruise. The sights and the food were amazing. I will say that the staff on Capt. Andy's is top notch. They are friendly and ask if you need anything multiple times during the cruise. They are also very knowledgeable about Kauai, the coastline, history, wildlife, etc. The food was better than I expected. They passed around hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and the fillet mignon with accompaniments were nicely prepared. I had a great time and would do this again. Can not recommend this boat tour enough!!! We went on the morning ride on a day where the water was going to be too rough for our original route, so the crew pivoted and took us to the south side which was amazing. Everyone on the boat was so fun and attentive, they knew our names and made sure we always had a drink in hand (if we wanted!). We swam in a couple of great spots and they had good food and music playing the whole time. We even saw several turtles and whales and captain tom had tons of cool fun facts for us. I would recommend this for people of all ages, and it was especially fun for a family of 5 with three adult children. The best snorkel and Sail tour ever!!! No need to think twice, if you want to see The Napali Coast from a boat then this is it. We booked the morning snorkel and sail. The crew was super nice all the way, the boat wasn't super crowded. We felt like we had enough room to move around, enjoy the views and use the restrooms without any hassles. Snorkeling and sea life spotting: the first stop after you leave from the marina is south shore for snorkeling. There weren't too many varieties of fish but we did see a few turtles. After snorkeling, as we were sailing towards the Napali Coast, we saw Spinner dolphins frolicking in the water. Everyone on the boat was super excited as we got to see them pretty up close in their natural habitat. Food: The breakfast spread was decent, I loved the lunch though. It's so awesome that they have thought of vegetarians and provide great food options. Things to keep in mind: 1. They will take your shoes away right as you onboard the vessel. They are all put away on shoe racks. You get them back as you disembark. 2. You will get wet from the sea spray. So, even if you don't plan on snorkeling, water/bring a bathing suit and bring extra towels. 3. You could get sea sick, so take your medication before you get on the vessel. It'll just make your trip more pleasant. Reserve your spot! It's going to be one of the best memories from Kauai. read more

We had a great experience on Capt Andy's catamaran dinner tour. We left from Kapaa to get here and wasn't too far of a drive, there is plenty of parking when you arrive and a nice waiting room inside. The guides introduced themselves and were all great. They helped my 90 year old grandfather around the boat when needed and were all animated and great to talk too. The boat does take some time to get out to the coast so be prepared to be here for quite some time. We saw spinner dolphins and some great sights from the Napali coast. They also served steak and shrimp as the dinner which was great along with cocktails that were baked in the tour. The only downside if it even is one was the waves were huge the day we went out and it also started to rain on the way back. Not Capt Andy's fault as they cannot control the weather. We had SUCH a fun time on our Na Pali Raft Day Expedition with Captain Ted and Jordan! We arrived for our tour and received a quick safety brief, as well as some large water proof bags to store our belongings in. Our raft had about 15 people (including staff) and we all fit comfortably. The raft ride was incredibly fast and bumpy (expect to be sore the next day from holding on to the rope and bouncing around), but a great time. We got to see several caves and some gorgeous views of the coast. Captain Ted took us under a few little waterfalls, Jordan took some excellent photos of us, and both taught us a lot about the sights we were seeing. When we arrived at our lunchtime destination, we went snorkeling and then were served a buffet-style lunch on the beach - chicken, beef, rice, fruits/veggies, and a cookie for dessert. We then had a brief walking tour of the area, where we learned about the local plants, animals, and Hawaiian traditions. We then had a speedy ride back to the starting point, accompanied by Captain Ted's stellar Spotify playlist. Expect to be exhausted after this (we were so tired, we missed our dinner reservation), but in the best way imaginable. Highly recommend this experience! read more

We were able to sightsee (plenty of time for photo ops--both sides of ship end up getting a clear view of the cliffs), see dolphins, and of course have a relaxed ocean view dinner aboard the boat. There was a time we saw both the moon and sun clearly, which was awesome. We took Dramamine about 1 hour before boarding, had no problems with seasickness. Among the very best experiences I had during an amazing visit to Kauai was a tour of the NaPali Coast with Capt. Andy's cruises. Prior to my trip, I had researched different experiences on Kauai. The one vendor that nearly everyone recommended by name was Capt. Andy's. So, I was excited to book my excursion. For anyone else who is traveling solo who may be hesitant to enjoy a Capt. Andy's trip by yourself, please use my great experience to overcome that concern and book your trip! I was a solo traveler and had an amazing time. The crew was accommodating and friendly and the other passengers were easy to enjoy the experience with. I was fortunate to visit in August. Our excursion was on a beautiful calm down and we were able to explore the entirety of the NaPali Coast. The vessel was well equipped (and new!). Dinner (steak and shrimp) was prepared on-board and delicious. I really enjoyed the captain's (Larry?) confidence that he conveyed through humor and knowledge of the island that, I think, would serve well to calm anyone that has any anxiety about being on the water. Capt. Andy's handles logistics well. We departed on schedule, waivers were able to be signed online conveniently, and boarding passes were issued digitally. Plenty of parking in the vicinity. The entire trip lasted from arriving at the point of departure around 2:30 to returning back to port after 8:00 p.m. I highly recommend this experience. I intend to return to Kauai at the end of the year to do more hiking. When I do, I plan to join another Cpt. Andy's adventure! read more

We recently went on the Star Snorkel BBQ Sail and we had a blast! The entire tour was definitely worth going on whether or not you've seen the Napali coast line before. It was a beautiful and relaxing cruise as well as interesting to learn about the history of various locations along the way. The conditions permitted our group to stop for snorkeling. It was fabulous to snorkel in a spot that's only accessible by boat! We also had the pleasure of seeing some dolphins on our way back. Our crew was fabulous! Shout out to Captain Kyler, first mate Shelbie, second mate Makana, and chef Deon! They went above and beyond to make sure we had fun but most importantly that we were safe! Lastly, the boat is very clean and well kept. The bathrooms are spacious and quite luxurious actually (especially for a boat)! The food and drinks served were all delicious. Everything is freshly prepared on the boat which is awesome! This is not just a "box lunch" that is stale. My husband and I have been to Kauai twice and decided this time around to take a boat tour to the Napali coast. After reading the reviews of all the boat tours, we decided on Capital Andy's. We knew they had great reviews, but WOW, we were not prepared for how good it actually is. Let me preface: my husband Pete and I love a good boat cruise. We have been on many. Upon boarding, we were greeted by Emily and Logan, genuinely kind and excited people. They set the tone for the cruise. Once inside, Capital Dane did the safety breakdown. It was the best one bar none that we had heard. People were listening intently, and he presented the information in a kind and informative manner. Also, reassuring people that it is okay if you get seasick, the crew was there to help. Once underway, we sailed along the coast and made it to the main event, the Napali coast. WOW, what a view! Truly wonderful! I would suggest something to keep your phone in, like a case with a lanyard or something to wear around your wrist. The waters can be rough out there, and having a way to keep your phone secure is important. Captain Dane positioned the boat for Emily and Logan to serve the surf & turf dinner that Chef Garrett had prepared. It was a delicious meal while we slowly cruised back in the sunshine. 10/10 Logan and Emily, you both are phenomenal. Your attentiveness to all members on board, kindness to everyone, and genuine passion for the tour were noticed by all. We thank you both so much for making the trip so wonderful! Finally, a friendly reminder of a few things to bring: - A towel or change of clothes. If you sit towards the front, you will get wet and soaked. Don't be like us, and do not grab your raincoats from your backpack...in the boat's galley. - The ocean has waves. It is not the crew's fault if there are waves, but take Bonine the day before, again that morning with breakfast, and about 30 min before boarding the boat. As someone prone to seasickness, bonine will make you a pirate in no time. I had no issues with the boat rocking. Keep your eyes on the beach, and you will be all set! Originally scheduled with a different company that cancelled last minute, and Andrea at the front desk was super nice and able to help us get a last minute spot on Captain Andy's boat. We were super happy our other company cancelled because we had such a great time on the boat with Thomas as the captain, who was very knowledgable with fun facts. Roland and Tristan made a point to help everyone move around the vessel safely and were just very kind and personable in general. We've done the catamaran tour here previously and my only concern compared to their competition is that the boat wasn't positioned from both the port and starboard at the best photo spots. We were sitting on the port side and expected to get our photos when we turned around but the captain went further out to sea to set sail It didn't stop us from having a good time, even in choppy waters, but something to be aware of. Great view At the stern there are seats in a semi circle facing forward with seats on the opposite side facing backwards. Some seats inside but not applicable for viewing. There are rails on both sides for viewing in front of this area. We were at the stern seats on starboard side facing the coast on way out. The crew permitted three discourteous people to sit on the back of the seats in front of us the entire trip up the coast which blocked our view . Same people switched to port side to see coastal line on way back. I'm sure they thought their trip was fantastic. We eventually stood up to achieve a viewing point that provided great views along the rails like others. But there were too many people on the boat to really enjoy the experience especially when you allow three idiot passengers to block the entire stern seating area. Food was average read more

Hard to believe that our experience is one of few. The sunset dinner cruise was nothing more than a race through choppy water to the Napali coast, spend five minutes taking pictures, turn around and eat (if you were not green), then race back through the rough waters to get to the spot for the hazy sunset. The best part of the trip was then gliding into the harbor so that we could get off the boat. 27 people were on the boat, 4 puked into sick bags and our group of five was not far from losing our stale meal. I posted a reasonable review on Google which was flagged as "Fake". Don't be fooled by the reviews. They will only allow positive comments trickle through. The crew was well trained and they tried to make it a nice experience, but I think the trip is too far and requires racing through the ocean to get there and back on time. On another note, there is an 8" stress fracture on the port side of the craft. As we submerged and surfaced the gap expanded and contracted. You may need to get it addressed soon. read more
