Fabulous ride, great captain and guide. We sat in the middle towards the font and the view when whale watching was the only downside (looking through people) but the view of the coast and caves was great and the ride was smoother but still an adventure. Truly, where do I begin?! I think my life just peaked on this boat ride. Payton and Captain Makayla (who became ohana by the end) made up our crew on a beautifully sunny Thursday morning. Payton went through the safety specs of the life vests and what to do in an emergency at the Na Pali Riders meeting spot. We all had to re-park our cars at the small boat harbor and pay $20 for parking. Once we got to "Sea Biscuit" (the raft), we took off our shoes and chose our seats! We opted for the most adventurous seats right in front and boy oh boy, we got some airtime. Prepare to flex your arm muscles and hang on! This boat flies FAST! I swear my body was pumping all the feel good hormones as the music was blasting, the sun was shining, and we were all flying on the water. High on life. We saw many dolphins scattered throughout the tour. The Na Pali cliffs never disappoint with their majestic beauty. Makayla and Payton had endless stories to share about their own experiences on island and the history of the locations we stopped to stare at, from beaches, to caves, to waterfalls. They were incredibly kind and genuine people that made us all feel comfortable. Our crew noticed the usual snorkel spot was murky and, therefore, unswimmable. They ushered us out a bit father from the coast to a more clear location and we had a little "pool party" instead where we jumped off the boat with some pool noodles, snorkels and music. After the swim, they provided some cold fruit, juices, water and chips. If you're on the fence at all about this tour, you need to book this experience. Choose Na Pali Riders as they are a small family-owned business. This raft ride truly is now a core life memory for me. They even provide you with a dry bag for all your belongings and snap photos of you throughout the tour. You have the option to review and purchase the phot package back at the meeting spot. Brandon and Cassie were great. They made the trip really fun. The Na Pali coast of course was spectacular. Going inside the caves was amazing. Saw lots of fish when snorkeling. During our trip back, Cassie saw two whales and Brandon took us closer so everyone could see them. We also saw some really playful dolphins, and Brandon stop so we could all watch them for a while. They went out of their way to make sure everyone got to enjoy the natural wonders the ocean was sharing with us. Highly recommend!!! read more

If I could rate them a 12/10 I would! My husband and I did an amazing tour on our honeymoon trip! It was absolutely incredible, and by far our favorite activity we did for our stay! (We are very adventurous, sky diving in Kauai, 8.5 mile hike to Hanakapia'i Falls etc.) Na Pali boat tour was a standout! Our captain Mac and Tom were 10/10 to have together on our tour. So fun! Our family loved this trip. It's more of an adventure than just a boat trip, which suits our family. We really could see how dedicated the staff is; they were so helpful and provided a lot of interesting information along the way. Since we visited in winter we knew the conditions would dictate what activities would be available (snorkeling, etc), and the staff did an amazing job being flexible and providing other options that were fun! WOW. 4th time on the island but first time doing a zodiac raft tour with Na Pali Riders. To put it simply, IT WAS INCREDIBLE. We did a regular boat tour of the Na Pali Coast last year with another company and it didn't even compare to how much fun we had with Na Pali riders! Going inside the caves was surreal and a completely unique experience. We were blessed with a girl crew (Captain Mak and Peyton) who were amazingly friendly and fantastic! They gave great info at each stop we made and made it super entertaining and fun. Captain Mak was funny, joyful, inspiring, and radiated positive energy! We only want her as our captain from here on out! We will be requesting her every year we come to Kauai! We were lucky to have experienced a beautiful sunny day on the Na Pali coast with nice people. The conditions weren't ideal for snorkeling so Captain Mak found us a nice spot to have a pool party instead which was just as enjoyable. We also got to see spinner dolphins multiple times which is our favorite animal so we had the most wonderful time to say the least! The guides were both 5 stars, and the caves were amazing. Truly the views were incredible, and I'm so grateful we got to do this. I'm rating this five stars because it's a small family business and I'm grateful it exists and could not be happier I got the opportunity to go. HOWEVER, if you enjoy not being sore or torn up I'd recommend you sit in the back of the boat or in the middle. We love adventure and said yes to the front but I have the tears on my hands and feet from the ropes and the sore arms and back to prove it. On a calmer day probably not a problem, but I'd enjoy this experience from the back of the zodiac if I were you :) read more

What an awesome time! My family and I recently took the tour of the NāPali coast with the Nā Pali Riders. There were several options to choose from, with different companies in musing catamaran boats, but the this company offered the experience closest to to what we felt we would enjoy. We were not disappointed. It was a relatively small group of about 20 passengers. The captain is a Coast Guard veteran and his wife is a Coast Guard captain. It was clear that safety was a top priority for the crew. This small family-owned business felt very intimate and was very pleasant with us; we had an incredible experience. The coastline is beautiful! We had four separate counters with pods of dolphins that were almost magical. Our captain was a skilled pilot and navigated the caves with ease. I loved my trip with na pali riders! This is not a slow chill sunset boat ride, it's a fast sometimes bumpy ride. It's the prefect tour for a traveler who is seeking a bit of thrill and excitement! If you're here on Kauai for a short time, and want to see the majesty that is the western coast of Kauai, Nā Pali Riders is the hands down best method to do so. I had no idea there were so many sea caves, AND that I could witness the inside of them! I didn't realize boats could be backed in with such precision, but it was only this expertise that allowed my wife and me to witness the rarely seen insides of the caves. The whole time the Captain and the crew (we had Mac attack!) explained so much of the history of the island, including sacred burial rites, movies filmed on island, the geology we were looking at and the igneous rock's stalwart elemental characteristics allowing to withstand the erosion. Amazing experience! The guides were knowledgeable and capable. I would absolutely recommend this excursion. It's not cheap but it was a very memorable day and felt worth the cost. One note: the instructions will tell you that you need a hat, but a bucket hat won't protect your face at all and any other hat will blow right off. Also, all the haoles on our boat got a bad sunburn, even with plenty of sunscreen, so if you have light skin you should wear a shirt on top of your swimsuit. read more

Highly recommend!!! The guides, Brandon and Makayla, were phenomenal. They made the day super fun, informative, full of laughter, and made an effort to insure we all had a great time. We made the trip in the beginning of May. We got to see the incredible coast line, taught about different legends, went into caves (not all the way in some due to low tide but still super cool to see), and ended with a beautiful swim. If you get cold easily, definitely bring a long sleeve water top/warm clothes for after the swim. For reference my mom and sister had half wet suits and we wore sweatshirts on the way out (again we went in May might be different at other times). Snacks and water are provided which was fantastic after snorkeling. I can't stress enough how amazing booking and taking a tour with this company was. Family owned and operated, you definitely get a personal, informative and almost private tour of this island's treasures. 100% would do this again! Disclaimer: if you can't swim, have any health problems, or don't enjoy riding on a inflatable speed boat this might not be for you. We had such a fun and memorable experience. Our Captain, Croix (sounds like drink La Croix), and his crew member, the ever energetic and awesome, Makayla (spelling??) were the best. They were so courteous of everyone's capabilities and offered safety gear through the trip for those that needed it (nobody did). Mak kept us entertained and educated about all the stops and sights and was just so fun to be around. Be Aware: this IS NOT a pleasure cruise. It's wild and wet and fast (@Mak, 250 out of 500 yeah - inside joke) and bumpy. Enjoy it for the experience and don't expect something it's not. The team did offer snacks/drinks and provided snorkeling gear. Mak took pics and video and we took advantage of the package price at the end of the day. Overall it was a great experience and we are happy we chose here over a "pleasure cruise." Lastly, this is a small business, people! Excitement happens here. Let's support and keep things exciting. Best ever! Our captain and guide were great. We sped in the zodiac to the Na Pali coast and made it way down the coast stopping to see the sights and hear about history and culture. We were able to go inside the caves and they were so cool (something you cannot do on a larger boat). We snorkeled. Then we found spinner dolphins and rode along with them for a while and later we rode along bottlenose dolphins. We went on the 7 am tour, as they mentioned that sometimes weather messes up the later one. read more

I HIGHLY recommend going out on a boat to see the NaPali coast! But if the weather is questionable ask for a reschedule!! Brandon and Payton were great hosts but decided to take us out with a storm rolling in. The way out there was gorgeous and beautiful. Unfortunately the waves were too big, and we didn't get into the caves, we didn't snorkel, and it was miserable on the way back to the harbor because the storm caught us. It was cold and wet and wild. The trip was also cut an hour short. In the past, other captains usually let you know and leave it up to you if you want to go out or not; we didn't not get that chance on our ride. So yes, absolutely do a boat tour, but leave yourself time in the trip to rescheduled if needed. And don't be afraid to ask. Don't buy the camera package, pictures are better from the cell phone. read more

Great for the adventurer that is physically capable to hold on & that understands nature determines what you see. The staff was super kind, informative, safety centered and fun! Captain Brandon, Mac and Dakota made sure we enjoyed every part of our experience. Highly recommend sitting on the outside of the raft if you're up for holding on. If you like more of a bull ride style that is slightly more comfortable, sit in the middle. We got to do a deep water swim instead of snorkel because of the choppy surf after the storm. We recommend the $55 photo package before departing - we were able to enjoy the trip with our hands free to hold on and didn't have to worry about dropping our phones overboard or buying a waterproof case - the photos provided captured everything we would have wanted to capture including photos of our group. Definitely heed their advice on only wearing hats with chinstraps - you will be going fast and catching some air. We hope to do this trip again, as every trip allows for different sights of nature and the ability to go into and out of different caves depending on the tides and waves. This small, military family owned business was worth the extras, and we highly recommend to others. read more
