Honestly, this was underwhelming. At first, it seemed like a normal boat trip and then very quickly seemed like the staff did not care to be there and were going through the motions. They seemed to be targeting my group the whole time, as if they were upset we were enjoying the views and trampolines at the front of the boat. They came up and asked our names in a rude way and then when we would ask questions, they'd ignore us or mumble answers as they walked away. When we got to the snorkeling spot, it felt uncomfortable to grab food, snorkels, drinks--overall everything. It was very clear we were annoying them? Surprising for being a company focused so much on customer service. Also they took us to a snorkeling spot where approximately zero fish were swimming--I think people snorkeled for a total of 5 minutes before they realized there was absolutely nothing. I was swimming for at least 20 minutes and didn't see anything. Frustrating to say the least that we were in such a bad spot. Lastly, when my boyfriend asked for a Diet Coke, the crew member Jesse purposely was ignoring him and said "sprite?" And then mumbled "use your words" when clearly he did. 3 times. This guy was also serving other people's drinks with a smile so it wasn't out of place or anything. WTH? We were stared at essentially the whole time and felt so unwanted. For this being one of the most recommended boat tours, I was especially let down and honestly pissed. They were rude and made snarky comments towards us when we did not prompt this. Jesse and Steve were condescending and distastefully rude. I was so uncomfortable and I have never been treated like this on a paid excursion ever before in my life. The highlights were chef rob and phoenix (and the views which they could not take away). Phoenix took amazing photos and was so kind and personable towards us the whole trip. I would not recommend this tour, as you would get better service and island knowledge at one of the smaller tours or literally any other company. read more

Captain Larry expertly navigated this tour to the Napali coast of Kauai. The food was above average for a boat tour and the service was phenomenal. The views we were able to take in were top tier. I saw in some other reviews that it felt rushed. I did not experience that at all. In fact we spent an extra 45 minutes underway. A 5-5 1/2 trip with dinner for 250 is a great value. I will say this, if you have not been on a boat tour or have experienced motion sickness, take dremamine. It's a boat ride, there is going to be some bouncing. 100 percent recommend this adventure to anyone visiting this Island! read more

My family and friends enjoyed this outing a few weeks ago and I would say that overall it was a great experience. Sights - the Napali Coast is absolutely gorgeous and I felt that this was probably the highlight of the trip! The snorkeling was nice, we were able to see some fish but the conditions were just ok (kinda wavy) so some of the kiddos got seasick. We were also able to see a dolphin on the way out and a whale on the way back! 5 stars Food - There were some snacks to begin the tour and then there was the lunch which were 1/2 lb burgers and chicken sandwiches which tasted pretty good in my opinion. My wife thought the chicken sandwich was just ok. Drinks were pretty much unlimited with alcohol being served a little after the tour started. 4 stars. Crew/Service - I think this is probably where the tour shines the most. I felt our crew of Captain Larry, Deion, Donnie and Steve really took care of us and were very helpful in so many ways! They would constantly check in with everyone to make sure everything was good and I really appreciated that! 5 stars for sure! I think the main drawback of this trip is that there is definitely a chance for people to get seasick. I would highly recommend either a motion sickness patch or dramamine because if you do get sick this will feel like the longest boat tour ever! I would say all the kids felt a bit seasick and some adults as well but this is something that happens when you go out to sea so I wouldn't necessarily ding the tour for it. Oh my god what an amazing experience! 10/10 recommend the raft tour! Due to some high swells we couldn't do the Na pali Coast tour that we booked but honestly it was just as amazing! Loved feeling like we were the only ones out at sea. We saw dolphins, flying fish, brown boobies lmao( birds) sea turtles, sheep on the mountain side and more! The girls were so great to be around and were very informative. If you're luckily you might even get a musical performance from the captain! The LUNCH, amazingg, homemade focaccia turkey sandwich with a bacon jam and sun-dried tomato pesto on tortellini. We were racing over waves it was literally the best thing my sister and I have ever done in our life. Wouldn't recommend for people who can't handle getting bounced around. My kids are 4 and 6. They had the most incredible time! I had nothing to be nervous about. The crew was exceptional with the kids. Te (short for tehani I think) was seriously a god send. She engaged with the kids so much. Captain Kyler let the kids sit with him while he drove the boat. Our chef nailed our burgers. Everyone went the extra mile to make sure the kids were safe and having a good time -which in turn allowed us to have a good time- and the crew all seemed to enjoy doing it. We purchased the photograph package from the on board photographer, end total was $170 but honestly the pics were so amazing, I would have paid more for them haha. We had a great time sailing with Capt Andy's Sailing Adventures! We booked well in advance for a sunset dinner cruise to the NaPali Coast. We arrived a little early day-of and we were able to walk around to some of the shops in the area before getting our briefing of the trip and heading down to the boat. We left the dock with two other catamarans at about the same time and started making our way around the island. The crew was very helpful, friendly, and informative. After we got going, they played some music and would tell us some facts as we were cruising around. They were all willing to help us take photos and made sure we were all having a good time. Once we were a little into the trip, the crew helped pass out appetizers and drinks. There were numerous areas to sit, we mostly stayed to the front of the boat. On our way out we saw a whale spray from a distance and some dolphins that hung out near the boat for a little while! We were able to see people hiking and goats climbing around, and get pretty close to the coastline in some spots. Once we reached the other side, we stopped and hung out while we were served dinner. The salad was hard to eat, as every time I would go to take a bite the wind would push most of it off my fork. The steak, shrimp, and corn was good! After cleaning up after dinner we made our way back, stopping to watch the sunset for a little bit. We were able to see some of there raft tours speed on by us on the way out. We were told that the smaller tours go into some of the sea arches and caves and get the high speed tour. I would love to try out some of their other tours and experiences! read more

We were so excited to include this adventure in our last trip and it didn't disappoint! We went on the tour in 2022, so Covid was still a bit of a concern more than I think it's considered by most now a days, I imagine that changed the experience but from an overall standpoint they did a great job, pandemic or not. Chose the sunset cruise and it really was a great adventure. Wanting to see the Napoli coast, couldn't have had better viewing. The number of people on board was very manageable and was easy to get around the ship. We chose to sit at the tables on the bow and had in restricted views of everything. Capt Dave was very knowledgeable and made it an educational experience too. I selected this group also because of the great meals. Filet Mignon grilled on the boat! Drinks were not a high point; only alcohol was in the form of a strange Mai tai kind of thing which did not taste good. Recommend management expand their bar on board. Of note as they warn water in February can be choppy and while no one got sick, we certainly bounced around for 4 hours. Driving back to harbor a pod of spinner dolphins rose in front of to hitch a ride in our bow wave. The crew was amazing and the play list of music was great! read more

Some tips: Dress is casual - from beach attire and up and barefoot cruise (no shoes - leave them in shoe locker on land before boarding) Bring a jacket (windbreaker water proof if possible) as it can be wet at front of boat Front of boat is best place to help avoid sea sickness but see tip one on bringing a jacket / hoodie / windbreaker as you will get wet Take a Dramamine the night before then another 1.5 hours beforehand. The less drowsy one works well. Keep your eye on the flat horizon where ocean meets sky to keep things level and equilibrium stable If you don't like your steak less than medium rare tell the chef that when he walks around to check for food allergies which is cool that he does check. Bring sun glasses to protect your eyes or the salt water spray Bring a cap or hat for sun or to stay warm once the sun sets Wear flip flops as the cruise is shoeless (barefoot) to ensure that you don't slip on decks Bring ginger candy to suck or chew on if you think you will be seasick Trip out might get a little bumpy but once the boat turns around it is mostly smooth sailing There is a bar as well as restrooms onboard You can bring a backpack full of needs and keep it inside. Great cruise line company! Totally professional and very hospitable. Highly recommended! Dock area has restaurants, breweries and gift shops as well. read more

We did the star sunset dinner cruise on 12/24/24. Captain Barron, the crew, Pablo, Cherry and Chef (I can't remember her name thought I heard captain yell Deetz? Maybe at docking) anyways they were all SUPER amazing! They were all very attentive. Always checking if We needed anything. Chef made the best steaks, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Can't get that at a nice steakhouse most times on one steak, and she cooked for the entire boat at once and they all came out same temp. Props!! She also helped tend to my son when he got sea sick. Thank you!! And you made him feel way less embarrassed about it. (Bryson said you were his favorite) I hope you see this! We saw several whales and the views were so beautiful. Went on a dinner cruise last night. Amazing! We were on the "green group" The Captain, First Mate and the rest of the crew were awesome! Very knowledgeable about the Island and the ocean. Slowed the vessel down so we all could get a look at the dolphins, monk seals and even the goats on the mountain. He actually turned the vessel around so everyone could get a good look at the animals. We arrived at the edge of the mountain where we could see the waterfalls and caves. Dinner was coursed out where they served an appetizer of a shrimp and beef skewers, flat bread with cheese and garnish. Awesomeness! Very tasty A garden salad lightly dressed and then the main entree. We had the filet mignon with asparagus spears, roasted potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection! Chef Kevin did an amazing job What was really cool is that all the staff rotated around the ship. Even Chef Kevin would serve drinks. So much fun! read more

My wife and I have been to Kauai several times since 2010, and had never quite wanted to spend the money for a boat snorkeling tour. We finally did the 5.5 hour Na Pali snorkeling tour at the end of October with Captain Thomas, Brayden, Jason and Pablo, and it was amazing. I will caveat that we our experienced was enhanced by unusually good weather and sea conditions for October. We snorkeled along the Na Pali Coast, so the water was a little rougher and murkier than if we had been near a reef. The snorkeling was fine, but the real highlight was the boat ride and the scenery. We rode almost the entire voyage with our 5 year old on the hammocks at the front of the boat. The conditions were so good, the boat was able to make it almost all the way to Hanalei. Our kid had a great time. After we cleared the turn around point, we traveled under the sails while eating lunch. For lunch, I opted for the burger. I was expecting a preformed frozen patty, and was surprised when I got a handmade patty cooked just right. Other than our kid, there were 3 or 4 other kids from one other family. Ours was the youngest. On the way back to port, Brayden and Captain Thomas invited our kid to come hang out at the helm, capping off a fun an exciting day. It was the highlight of the trip. I don't normally write reviews, but Capt. Andy's gave us some family memories we will never forget. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Y'all when I tell you this was the most amazing and fun and adventurous experience of our 'momcation' there is no exaggeration in that. From start to finish our crew, Captain Victoria and her First Mate Devyn(with a Y) were fantastic, professional and fun! Captain Victoria wrestled with the steering wheel from the time the engine started and wasn't shy about making the trip the most memorable for us all. Devyn knew the history of the Na'Pali coast line which made the trip more interesting. From dolphins to snorkeling and making our way in and out of caves, everyone on board our boat had a blast. What an absolutely delightful experience having the opportunity to sail with my wife on a beautiful Sunday afternoon celebrating my 50th Birthday on the Southern Star along the beautiful Kauai Na Pali Coastline. Check-in was super easy. Before you walk into the main building, there is a poster on a stand near the front door with a large QR code that you would scan using your cellphone. Doing this allows you to check-in and receive a boarding pass right before your scheduled trip. Our trip was scheduled for 2pm but we showed-up about 45 min before. Parking is on the dirt-lot across the check-in building. You can hang-out inside the building or anywhere around the deck or surrounding tables with umbrella covers. Shortly before the trip, we all gathered into the building, were briefed with important information, and were then separated by two groups based on what color was assigned on your boarding pass. If you need to use the bathroom before taking off, there is a general restroom behind the business halfway through the main hallway leading to the other end of the building. After we were separated into our groups, we were led down the road to the docks by Captain Lynn to board the Southern Star. Before you board the ship, you need to remove your footwear and place them into the bins as you are going to walk around barefoot on the ship unless you have some medical condition preventing you to do so. I was apprehensive at first leading to the day of the sail because of fear of me being thrown-over and also not knowing how to swim, but those fears were soon put aside after 1hr into the sail. It's not something that I do everyday but it didn't take long until my nerves were settled and I was able to adjust and enjoy the ride. Setting off from Port Allen was a little rough as we were sailing against the waves but nothing to be concerned about. I looked like a dork, hanging-on the front mid-rails surfing with the boat as it bobbed up and down over the waves. It didn't take long until I had some sense to back-up and sit my butt down in a safe place. Captain Lynn was very conscientious, took her time and explained a lot of the major points along our sailing route. She was in great command of the boat and slowed down during rough spots on the water throughout our entire sail and did not plow through like how some other Captains may have done so in that situation. Drinks were served throughout our cruise and it helped set the mood for the evening. I enjoyed the Sneaky Tiki Mai Tai and it allowed me to settle down and become one with the boat. The food prepared by Chef Lita was delicious, welcomed and served at the right time. The steak and vegetables were made just right. and it was welcomed and served at the right time during our sail. My wife and I found an opened table inside the boat and decided to eat our dinner there. Our our way back from the coast, Captain Lynn stopped the boat so that we can watch Spinner Dolphins put on a show for us leaping and spinning into the air. Many folks found their comfort spot and just stayed in the same place throughout the cruise. Not us. We were able to walk around the boat, sit and stand in different places throughout and even went up to the top level and sat on the bench behind Captain Lynn. I really had a great feeling of appreciation and safety watching Captain Lynn take control of the boat on her own, manning all the instruments, making sure we were headed in the right direction. She was in total control and the music playlist she played throughout the cruise fit the mood. Captain kept looking back to see if the sun would break through the clouds but unfortunately it didn't. Everyone knows Kauai is the wettest place on the planet so you'll be lucky if you can get a glimpse of the sunrise or sunset on any given day but that didn't ruin our experience in any way. Great props go out to our crew members Beau, Logan, Chef Lita and the other lady (I apologize for not remembering her name) were all courteous and always, always attentive by constantly asking us if we needed anything to drink (water, alcohol). They were always making sure they took care of us, taking our empty glasses. I think this was a great idea and I think that if someone's glass fell overboard, it would not be well for the environment. If this is your first time to Kauai, I highly recommend this experience. Although you can take the other cruise that includes snorkeling, you can opt and take it easy on this relaxing dinner cruise. Well worth the money!! read more

We wanted to go to the Nepali coast. We just weren't sure the best way or time to do it. We opted for the early morning cruise, which was a bit of a challenge as we were staying in Princeville so it was over an hour drive away. Meant a very early morning! We chose this one because one of the people in our group has a tendency to get seasick, but they took Dramamine and we're fine. I was the only one who didn't take Dramamine and I wasn't so fine. So the lesson learned from that was if you've ever had any kind of motion sickness, take some Dramamine! Now onto the rest, we started off with some fruit and muffins and coffee that were all delicious. It was very cool in the morning and happening. A long sleeve sweatshirt helped a lot, but a jacket would've been better. Although it was also very wet. As the sun started to come out and we got on the move it was just very pleasant all the way around. Lunch was fabulous and finished off with some amazing cookies. Now for the crew. They were fabulous!! We have a ChefTaylor, Roland, captain Thomas, and then the multifaceted captain, chef and first mate, whose name started with an M, but we can't remember! They were all so friendly and so helpful and so nice. They were very friendly and welcoming. It seemed like they were always working, but glad to take a break to answer a question, to take a picture or just check in to make sureyou were OK. We also got very lucky and were able to go snorkeling and see the fish and turtles in addition to the whales and dolphins from the bow of the catamaran.
