We stopped in for lunch after taking our kids on the Blackbeard Pirate Cruise. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Decent beer list and priced reasonably. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server. I ordered a side Caesar salad and hubby got a house salad. Kids ordered kid burger and grilled chicken sandwich with corn on the cob. Pretty easy order...we waited. 15 minutes. We waited 30 minutes. We waited 45 minutes. We waited 1 hour and the manager noticed others were getting their food and leaving yet we were still sitting with nothing. She brought it to our servers attention. While I couldn't hear what was being said it was obvious she wasn't pleased in the lack of service we were receiving. We never complained...but we appreciated her apology and attentiveness to getting us served our food. The portions are large and the food was decent for a "quick" bite. However our service just lacked majorly. read more

We began visiting when this was Captains Poo's then Ian's and now Captain Archie's. We've ordered many dishes through the years. On this trip, we opted to share the Captain's Platter for a late lunch to hold over to dinner. The waitress worked hard, despite it being very hot, and busy. We sat at a table on the water but had great service as if we were inside. All food the food was GREAT. We tried to go back the next day for lunch and take our granddaughter before her nap. We knew she would so she love watching the boats continuously cruise in/out of channel from small fishing boats to pontoons to cabin cruisers to jet skis. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't open until 3:00 now which is very disappointing. In years passed, we used to make our 5-6 hour trip to the beach in time to catch the flounder basket for the Friday lunch special. read more

We discovered Captain Archie's earlier this summer. We couldn't wait to return to the area to take our son and his family. We were able to snag a table on the intercoastal waterway, so our grandchildren could watch the boats during dinner. The place was busy, but our server was very attentive. We highly recommend the steak bites with blue cheese crumbles. The fish bites were light and tasty. The crab cakes were good. The flounder platter was a generous portion and very nicely done. A friend and her husband visited there for lunch during their stay and said the fried chicken special was one of the best they'd ever had. We have definitely included Captain Archie's on our "must go" list when we're at North Myrtle Beach! read more

This is a fun place, great atmosphere and very casual. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. I have been at dinner and lunch and really love their lunch specials. If you are in town on Thursday, get the lunch special of pork chops, three sides with drink included. Always have a good time at Capt. Archie's, the food is good (not fancy) and the beer is cold, what more could you ask for? read more

The "first come first serve" seating is sub par at best, people are fighting over tables and there is just as many people standing around. The food was okay, but having to fight for a table while hungry is not fun. If they just had someone seat people and a wait time like a normal restaurant it would be 10x better! read more

I finally made it to Captain Archie's after having been coming down for years. What an awesome place! I met a friend there for drinks and lunch and was pleasantly surprised. There were not a bunch of covid-fearmongers wearing face diapers, which was absolutely refreshing. If you are worried about wearing masks while being seated outside...do everyone a favor and stay home. We started out with an order of fried green tomatoes, which were very good. I had the Carolina burger and onion rings, and both were absolutely delicious. The Corona came with the mandatory lime slice and really hit the spot. I'm glad I finally experienced Captain Archie's, and will definitely be returning again. read more

Our waitress Chantel was AWESOME! This deck is pup-friendly outside, as long as you are not under the roof of the bar. We got the Tuesday special - 69¢ tacos! I have been at this location in the past when it was called Capt. Poo's. My friend and I took his boat out on a beautiful day. Since they are located on the Intercoastal and have free docking, we stopped for lunch. We sat on the patio which has high tops with umbrellas which were welcome on this sunny day. Our server, Heather, was terrific. Service was fast and she was always checking up on us for any needs. She has a pleasant and friendly personality and was very easy on the eyes! I ordered the Rueben sandwich which was good. It wasn't served on rye bread though, which would be traditional. It was still tasty. They carry all the usual beers on tap and in bottle. The visit was fun and I will be back again to try out some of the other food offerings. read more

Our first visit today but NOT our last! A really cool place tucked away by the water. We enjoyed our meals to include island shrimp (mango / habanero); steamed shrimp; golden wings, buffalo wings and flounder sandwich. The favorites of the table were the island shrimp and the golden wings. Looks like a good watering hole to for an adult beverage. We will be docking again at Capt A's soon. read more

One of our favorite spots on the intercostal waterfront. It's laid back and the food is good. It was previously Captain Poo's. They have extended to outdoor bar & seating They provide a great atmosphere with live music! They even have a parking area dedicated to motorcycles. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. We got the half pound of peel and eat shrimp and the Captain Island shrimp. First off, the half pound peel and eat shrimp it was not a half pound. Second, the shrimp was over cooked and tasted like rubber. The Captain Island shrimp was even more disgusting. I wanted fried, they gave me breaded. And it wasn't even breaded properly! I got 7 pieces of breaded rubber. I wouldn't serve that shit in prison. Spent $27 on the most pitiful shrimp I've seen in my life. The service was also lacking. The guy on the phone is part deaf and likes to yell at customers, no one knew how to work the register, and it took them almost 10 minutes to give me two to go cocktail sauces. One of the top five dive bars in North Myrtle Beach! We arrived in the afternoon and we're seated quickly outside as requested. Everyone was wearing a mask appropriately and social distancing. Drink orders arrived promptly and our waitress was kind and attentive. My wife had the blackened grilled chicken sandwich and I had the seafood. However when my plate came out the side of fries was very skimpy. The owner happen to be walking around and asked us how everything was and we told him everything was great except for the side of fries. He then proceeded to go to the kitchen and brought out a huge basket of fries that were so hot and perfect. He apologized and then sat down with us for 10 minutes and had a conversation before going back to work. He was first class!!! Definitely would return. We're were here last year and there was a live band that was very good. Highly recommend this place for adults, leave the kids with a sitter!!! Enjoy!!! read more

Went with several of my friends today. We had the rudest waitress and manager. We sat in the new section and the wind was blowing so hard through the building it was cold. Our table and 4 other tables requested for the plastic to be rolled down to stop the wind. We were told the owner does not allow it. It was ridiculous it is April not July. We were planning on spending our afternoon there however as soon as we ate we left. The manager was a complete jerk she was rude and does not know what customer service means. Long time local patrons of the usually consistent Archie's (Poo's) weekly stop for dinner with another local couple. Tonight was way different... Attitude began with the server, from cleaning the table of previous customers drinks and plates to body language that would make most customers leave. Then we ordered food.....after an hour I asked our server if the kitchen screwed up....the response....."all I know is it wasn't me". Really??? I seek out the manager.... yet another unacceptable response. The sad thing is, he's clearly over his head. We ended this unfortunate experience by leaving without being served our dinner. Funny thing is, Archie's really did a good job during their rebirth. Server's were engaged, food was consistent and owners/managers had their eye on the ball. You've slipped folks.
