friendly service, limited menu, nice location on the water. For a seafood place, I was disappointed. The only 'fish' offered was flounder. The server did say she thought the 'fish bite' appetizer was a fish called 'Sway'' kind of like grouper she said. I ordered the fish bites grilled. What I was served were greasy, mushy bites of fish. I ate a few botes, but then became concerned about food poisoning. I would not return to this location. read more

First time here. It's a fun place for a group. They have happy hour snacks and drinks. The live music was a great addition to the atmosphere. We had the Tito's lemonade for our cocktail and I tried the peel and eat shrimp. Honestly I wasnt impressed with the shrimp but my drink was very good. Went on Taco Tuesday and got the Low Country Broil Shrimp along with three tacos. The tacos are good and a steal so I highly recommend going on taco Tuesday. There was live music that was good and was an overall nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the food was good. My only complaint was my shrimp were hard to peel. read more

I have been there many times but the last 2 were different. To my delight the kitchen was shined. It almost glowed. The food was good as it always was. To my dismay this was back to the bar status it always was. People were packed into the bar area. There was no social anything except party and no one...Batrtender or waiter were wearing masks. After reading the mixed reviews we were a little hesitant to give Captain Archie's a try. No need to worry, as we had a wonderful meal. First of all our server Savanna was outstanding. From answering any questions we had to always making sure everything was alright. We ordered a wide variety of menu items including a fried oysters platter, Philly cheesesteak, pulled pork sliders and mozzarella sticks. All were excellent. The only downside was it was pretty warm inside for some reason. Next time we go back we might choose the outside dining. read more

The first night we ate there was great. We had the best waiter. The steamed shrimp were some of the best I've ever eaten. The hog wings were a nice surprise as well as the flounder. The second night was not as great. If Heather is your waitress then ask for someone different. She is not organized enough to keep up with multiple tables. The worst thing for a waitress to do is never give you refills and complain that she has too many tables. We were told every twenty minutes that our food was coming up. After an hour, you are tired of hearing that. She definitely lacked in the courteous department. Wish we would have had the same cook as Friday night. read more

The food is very delicious. The place has a very friendly vibe to it. Will be bringing back the whole family to come to their karaoke nights, and enjoy the live bands in the future. Being able to see boats passing through is a nice touch, and the waiters are very friendly and helpful. They have been able to bring us our own pitcher for refills at our own pace. Their customer river spot with rocking chairs adds that personal vibe that many places cannot dreaming of obtaining. A little tricky to find but worth the trip up North Myrtle. If not for Yelp, I never would have found this place. It's tucked away, but definitely worth a visit! We went on a Monday night and trivia was just starting when we came in so we definitely joined in on that fun. It also happened to be happy hour so all of the appetizers with a circle beside them were $5 each. There were 3 in our party and we all opted to get two appetizers each. I had the fish bites. I asked for them to be blackened and even though they were really tasty, they weren't blackened. They seemed to be just sauteed in butter. I also got the fried green tomatoes. I liked them and for $5, you can't beat it. The atmosphere is very laid back (more bar than restaurant), but the service was great. Our server checked on us often. I'm so glad we tried the restaurant and we'll definitely go back the next time we're in the area. read more

This place was damn good! Visited after we finished our fishing charter. Hush puppies were so good We ordered and entire order. We ordered the Friday fish special and it was delicious. TRUE TO ITS ROOTS Captain Archies describes itself as a "laid-back waterfront hub," and that's exactly what it. The relaxed 'beachy' atmosphere and friendly service make Archie's a great place for a casual lunch, happy hour or dinner. The food is generally good (they don't pretend to be gourmet or haute cuisine), reasonably priced and served with a smile. The Tuesday night Tacos are a bargain at $1.69 each. My favorite Happy Hour special is the "Hawg Wings" - tangy, tender and tasty. I also like their Cold Plate which features a surprisingly good chicken salad. Other items worth trying are the Peel & earth Shrimp, Fish Bites and Fried Bologna Sandwich. Sometimes the beer is not as cold as it could or should be, but your server will put it on ice for you upon request. Archie's is best enjoyed outside (the inside dining area is a bit depressing). The live music is usually quite good, but can be overpowering if you are seated close to the musicians. Try a night out at Captain Archie's and you'll feel like you've really been to the beach. read more
