The setting on the marsh is definitely the highlight of this restaurant and makes for a pleasant evening out. We sat in the high-top bar area, which was noticeably loud, and while the screened outdoor section offers great views, it was a bit too warm to be completely comfortable. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and the drinks were well-made. My wife ordered the prime rib and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the seafood medley over angel hair pasta. The seafood itself was cooked very well--the shrimp, scallops, and mussels were tender -- but the overall dish was lacking in flavor and could have used more seasoning. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. If you're already in North Myrtle Beach, it's worth a visit for the atmosphere, drinks, and solid service. However, if you're driving a significant distance specifically for dinner, there are several other restaurants in the area offering better food at a similar price point. read more

After a misstep and going to the sister restaurant Joes Burgers, the night before we arrived a little after 5 pm on April 28th only to be told we needed reservations and the earliest would be in two hours. To be fair they had seated a tour bus at 430 with at least 30 people. This place looks like an old school cabin with rustic charm and many stuffed heads around a fireplace We sat at the bar and were served very quickly by Ashley. We decided to order several appetizers to start and they were very good. They were good enough that we made a meal out of four of the appetizers. I do want to return to this restaurant and be seated and properly served. Not in any way reflecting on the bar staff they went out of the way to make sure we were satisfied and well taken care of. It was a very chilly Tuesday in March when Michelle and I met up with my Cuz Reese and his wife Jo for dinner. We always like the experience on Racoon Cove which is not widely known and is something of a 'spot' for locals who know. As we hoped they had a nice roaring fire going which was welcome because it was in the 60's and a little windy! We didn't want to sit at the only remaining table as it was just too cold. We all cozied up around the hearth and fire and had a great experience. I had the Neptune with Grouper, Crab meat, shrimp and scallops, and béarnaise sauce. It was so good and fresh and a great meal. Michelle had the Seafood Medley with gulf shrimp, scallops, lump crab and mussels baked in garlic butter, white wine, lemon and herbs , topped with grated parmesan cheese, served with rice pilaf. I am embarrassed to say we've been coming to Myrtle Beach for over 35 years and never eaten at Joe's B&G. We have eaten at the hamburger place but never the Bar and Grill. The lady taking reservations was a bit grumpy but helped us get reservations on the patio/screened porch as my wife wanted to see the raccoons. We ordered several different types of martinis and they were well made and tasty. I failed to mention our waitress was as good as you will ever find in mid to fine dining. Her name was Scarlet and she was amazing. We ordered the clam app and it was good and full of flavor. My wife and I shared a prime rib and it was cooked as requested and decent cut of meat. By the time we had the crackers and cheese, bread and the clams we were close to full. Overall the food was good, the service was amazing, and the vibe was very comfortable. I travel on biz often and eat out a lot, this place was as good as you would want for a family dinner or just romantic evening with your sweetheart. Well done Joes! Introduction: Representing 2021 in the alphabet series, J is for Joe's Bar. I've taken 2 Myrtle Beach trips under a friend's timeshare in 2020's in August 2021 & September 2024. Technically, 2021 was more of a North Myrtle Beach trip and 2024 was Myrtle Beach proper based on where our stays were. These were different trips as most of the time spent was in the cities we were staying in. I just realized on the map, Joe's is across the street from Barefoot Landing, which I liked that place in 2021 & in 2024 my girlfriend & I got tickets to a cover band there from timeshare friend. Joe's Experience: On our 2nd of 3 nights there, we wanted a nice sit-down restaurant with either seafood, steak, or something nice. We were committed to going to a Pirate show on the last night, which came with a meal. Wow, Joe's did not disappoint. We walked in to this fancy lodge setting with white tablecloth. I got the prime rib, which came with potatoes, and I think maybe a side salad. While it was expensive, certainly no where near the most expensive for a prime rib, it was worth it! This is one of the best prime ribs I've ever had, definitely in the top 3. It was tender & succulent with a fair amount of the fatty portions, which I really like too, but a good sized meat. The potatoes were great too. Service was nice & efficient. I'd come back here for that prime rib again in the future. read more

What a phenomenal find. We lucked into getting a reservation for 8. I suggest calling innadvance of your vacation to get a time you want. If they give you an off time it's still worth going. The food was fantastic. We had multiple apps, their famous house seafood soup, and a mix of seafood entrees and the steaks. There were some clear winners: seared yellow fin tuna and joes sampler were amazing apps. The spicy seafood house soup was awesome. It had kick but not too much. The seafood medley was a hit with a special call out for the crab and the steaks. The filet was prime and cooked to perfection. If I'm back in Myrtle I'm going to Joe's. It's a must. read more

Excellent meal and service. Called the day of to try to get a reservation and hoping that someone had canceled as we had tried a few days ago, but they were fully booked. Thankfully, they were able to take us. Overlooking marsh Lake area Russia feels very homey yet it is jazzed up with white tablecloths. Lovely, indoor dining area as well as casual outside. We started with the ribs and clams appetizer and both were phenomenal. So full of flavor. We actually debated about ordering a second round of ribs, but thought that may be a little too much. For our dinners, we had one of their fish specials topped with blue cheese sauce, prime rib, kids cheeseburger and the New York strip with mushrooms. We devoured everything. Joe's Bar & Grill is a New American restaurant located on Conway St. in North Myrtle Beach. They are open every day from 4:30PM - 9:30PM. My family and I stopped in last night for our 5:00 reservation, and our table was ready right when we arrived. The food was good, service was friendly, and I Ioved the view of the marsh. Complimentary crackers and butter were provided and already set on the table before we were seated. For appetizers we ordered clams, mussels, and bacon wrapped scallops. The clams were sautéed in a rich blend of white wine, butter, and garlic, while the mussels came in a bold, spicy marinara. They are both served with garlic toast. The bacon wrapped scallops were cooked to absolute perfection and served on a bed of rice. They definitely stole the show! For my entree I decided on the steak au Poivre. It consists of an 8oz filet mignon coated with peppercorns and topped with a brandy and Dijon cream sauce. The steak was cooked to my liking, but I didn't love the accoutrements. All beef entrees come with roasted potatoes and a house salad. You can substitute a cup of soup for $2.00, which is what l did. I got the low country seafood chowder. While the flavor was good, there was barely any seafood. It was mostly vegetables and potatoes. Our server, Gary, was great! He was personable, accommodating, and had a great sense of timing. Everything arrived just when it should. Joe's has indoor and outdoor seating. Happy hour is Sun - Thu 4:30PM - 7PM. Reservations recommended. Had a first time visit to Joe's. We made a reservation for 530 we showed up and we're seated almost immediately, which was fantastic considering we had a six year old with us we ordered appetizers drinks and dinner for Four. Food was amazing. We had probably the best server Her name was Joy at Joe's. She was so accommodating for the 6 year-old. Joe's Bar and Grill exceeded my expectations! I had heard great things about Joe's and had been wanting to give it a try. Walking into the bar area, I knew this was going to be a cool experience. The wood paneled walls lined with deer, Caribou, and other trophy animals create an interesting drinking and socializing space. Passing through the bar into the spacious dining room you feel like you're in a place that has been operating since Hemingway's days. The rustically casual charm creates a relaxing atmosphere. The impeccable service is another clue that Joe's is a quality experience. Our server exuded Southern Charm and guided us through the menu. Super friendly and attentive, she added to what was a great dining experience. While ambiance and service are crucial to the overall experience, the food is the star and the food at Joe's does not disappoint. Everything our party of eight had was fantastic. When our entrees were delivered to the table conversation shifted from robust laughter to quiet enjoyment of our dishes. Servings were very generous and are certainly of shareable proportions, especially with a salad and or appetizer. Joe's is situated on a marsh with outside seating looking over the marsh. We were on vacation and heard about Joe's from a local who touted Joe's as the best restaurant in town. We wanted to dine on a Friday during the dinner rush and knew a reservation was a must. The reservation process was a quick call which I prefer over an app based reservation. The ambiance was relaxed. The waiter was very attentive. The Joe's sampler was a meal listed as an appetizer. Our server was great and very patient, especially with the two goofballs i am with. My husband's prime rib was good and cooked to his liking, medium rare. Shrimp was definitely on ice way too long causing it to not taste correctly most likely soaked up the water. The grouper was possibly grouper. The meal price was 175 then 3% for credit card made it 180 with a 30 dollar tip making it 210 and the meal price in a normal restaurant for the quality would at most be around 75$. I ordered the Chicken Parm which was thin as cardboard and did not have much taste to the dish. The salad was OK. You can't say much about having a Pepsi as your dinner drink. If you want an experience like going to a football game at Halftime then this is your place. Dined at 6:00PM $28.00 alone for tasteless chicken. Going back for another try...not in my lifetime. When I was young we used to answer the phone "Joe's Bar n Grill" to actually see a places named this was epic. When we walked in I didn't know if we should be more dressed up or wear hunting attire. Almost like a husband saying he wants to open a bar an grill and the wife said, you need to add some class. Lol. Taxidermy fowl and heads lined the walls and hung from the ceiling. Then there were cloth tablecloths and cloth napkins and a cute crackers and cream cheese ball on the table. Enough about decor. We had Mediterranean chicken and evening special Atlantic salmon wild rice. Very good. Complimentary warm loaf of bread, yum. You will pay more than average grill prices but it was good. Last night I went to Joe's. And today, I sit here on the balcony at the Cove, wearing my white V-neck undershirt and some spank tight bottoms reminiscing about another fabulous meal from my favorite grubbery in town. What is left to say about Joe's that I haven't said in my previous 2-3 reviews? What is left for me to do for this establishment. I'm sitting here, once again on the balcony at the Cove, curly chest hairs erupting from my tight white V-neck undershirt and rump being squeezed ever so tightly in these bottoms, just trying to find more to say. The place is always rockin' and rollin'. There's never a vacant table, and never an empty seat at a single table. This place sells more tickets than the Miami Marlins, or any professional soccer team. The staff are always polite, welcoming, and ready to wait on customers. The guy who changes the tables for incoming guests is a superhero. Literally, a superhero. He comes flying out of the darkness in a cape and mask, greets everyone he sees with a "how are we doing tonight," and within seconds he has a table cleared, cleaned and prepped for the incoming reservation. He's like Bruce Wayne but without the attitude and self righteousness. Whatever this guy is getting paid, he should receive triple. He's the star of the show. The food is always well cooked and delicious. I had steak with shrimp and scallops, and a side of grilled potatoes. Perfection. Every bit of it was perfection. 5 of us locals went early before Alabama Christmas Show. Dinner was good, consistent. No complaints as we've been many times before. However, I asked for simple syrup for unsweetened iced tea and was told "the bartender has it but they will not give it to tables, it's only for the bar patrons". My wife walked to the bar herself and was told the same thing by the bartender who reluctantly gave her some. I must be missing something. Why not?? Maybe the bartender has been in that job too long.
