    Lowcountry seafood chowder soup

Joe's Bar & Grill is an absolute favorite of my father-in-law and his wife, so we've been here several times over the years. They always want to sit in the Raccoon Cove bar out back, which has a great fireplace for cold nights and a food stand that brings the local raccoons by for dinner. You can also watch them from the sunroom-style dining room if you'd rather stay inside. The indoor decor is fun too (Ace Ventura would call it a lovely room of death) with all the animal trophies on the walls. The pork ribeye over sweet potato mash isn't going to win any beauty contests, but don't judge that book by its cover because it was very tender and delicious. It's definitely a new favorite! The Steak Au Poivre is another one with a sauce that elevated an already well-cooked (but not well-done!) steak. My wife's Seafood Alfredo was wonderful, including the bites she let me steal, and the Lowcountry chowder was excellent. Her other favorites are the Filet Neptune and the Mahi-Mahi. The Thai BBQ ribs are also a big hit with the family, but somehow I still haven't gotten to try one. Next time. This is the "good" Joe's. They don't serve hamburgers here, but they do know how to cook a steak. The food is excellent, the service has always been good, and they've nailed the local upscale-casual restaurant and bar vibe. The only real downside is the tiny parking lot. You can park at the ice cream place too (overflow lot), but Joe really needs to make friends with the beachwear megastore next door because their back lot always seems to have plenty of empty spaces!

Our party of 18 came here and we had the best service. Scarlett's our server was so amazing and she did a great job. Service was so fast and we were in and out under 1.5 hours. The food was so good and fresh, and the raspberry martini was out of this world.

The food is pretty decent but there is room to improve. The house salad Lettuce was very wilted either from being preplated or being old. We ate out at the back bar and enjoyed it way more than sitting inside. Staff are friendly. Make reservations or come early. Its a popular place. 2beer, 1 cocktail, 3 entrees =$172 with tip

My friend got steak medallions or something like that & some frozen strawberry drink.

Introduction: Representing 2021 in the alphabet series, J is for Joe's Bar. I've taken 2 Myrtle Beach trips under a friend's timeshare in 2020's in August 2021 & September 2024. Technically, 2021 was more of a North Myrtle Beach trip and 2024 was Myrtle Beach proper based on where our stays were. These were different trips as most of the time spent was in the cities we were staying in. I just realized on the map, Joe's is across the street from Barefoot Landing, which I liked that place in 2021 & in 2024 my girlfriend & I got tickets to a cover band there from timeshare friend. Joe's Experience: On our 2nd of 3 nights there, we wanted a nice sit-down restaurant with either seafood, steak, or something nice. We were committed to going to a Pirate show on the last night, which came with a meal. Wow, Joe's did not disappoint. We walked in to this fancy lodge setting with white tablecloth. I got the prime rib, which came with potatoes, and I think maybe a side salad. While it was expensive, certainly no where near the most expensive for a prime rib, it was worth it! This is one of the best prime ribs I've ever had, definitely in the top 3. It was tender & succulent with a fair amount of the fatty portions, which I really like too, but a good sized meat. The potatoes were great too. Service was nice & efficient. I'd come back here for that prime rib again in the future.

Best steak I've ever had! Great ambiance and service. Beautiful water view of the marsh. Make sure to call ahead to reserve because it gets busy quick during the summer.

Great food and service. Server was Gary. He is a wonderful server with great presence and knowledge of the entire menu and specials. Food is always excellent. I haven't had a bad meal while dining here. The environment is inviting with regular dining room seating, bar seating and patio seating with stunning views. Must stop dining if in the area!!

Grouper bites, steak bites, scallops in bacon, shrimp and pasta.

Found the cute bar in the back. Open air seating. A couple tables overlooking the marsh. Got the Joe's Sampler and a drink. Everything was perfect.

Excellent meal and service. Called the day of to try to get a reservation and hoping that someone had canceled as we had tried a few days ago, but they were fully booked. Thankfully, they were able to take us. Overlooking marsh Lake area Russia feels very homey yet it is jazzed up with white tablecloths. Lovely, indoor dining area as well as casual outside. We started with the ribs and clams appetizer and both were phenomenal. So full of flavor. We actually debated about ordering a second round of ribs, but thought that may be a little too much. For our dinners, we had one of their fish specials topped with blue cheese sauce, prime rib, kids cheeseburger and the New York strip with mushrooms. We devoured everything. Our waiter Gary was also amazing. Huge props to him for making our meal extra special.

Lightly blackened mahi mahi with shrimp, scallops and bernaise. Absolutely delicious!

Our first time visiting and it's already a favorite! We both had seafood specials, one was the blueberry balsamic salmon and the other was the lightly blackened mahi mahi Neptune. Both dishes were exceptional, as was the Southern Peach Martini. Our server Ryan was very attentive and excellent with his recommendations. We plan on returning very often! Thanks for a great evening!

We each picked a couple items, and at first I was skeptical about how well such a mixed menu would come together. That skepticism didn't last long. What's impressive is how they manage to cover different cuisines and still execute them well. The shishito peppers came perfectly grilled and paired with an amazing sauce that really elevated them beyond a typical appetizer. The meatballs felt like something straight out of a family kitchen comforting, rich, and reminiscent of grandma-style cooking. The shrimp scampi was another standout: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overdone with butter or garlic. But the real highlight of the night was the pistachio espresso martini so smooth, creative, and easily one of the most memorable cocktails on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot for sharing plates and trying a little bit of everything. It turns what could feel like a scattered menu into a fun, consistently solid dining experience.

The outside is great for families or for a date night. They have a section where they have an outside bar so you can be by the water. They also have a small stage that I'm sure they have music outside. So we started off with drinks and some appetizers. We had the calamari, street corn dip and the margarita. We had the steak with a side order of shrimp, had the Big chill burger with an extra side the Hawaiian pasta salad and the Big Chill Island salad with chicken. Service was good. The apps were tasty and if you like spicy hot it was good. The steak and shrimp was good and flavorful, the burger was good but not the pasta salad. It was not good, that even my daughter didn't like it. As for my Big Chill Island salad was also a disappointment. Not sure what it was but the flavors just didn't go well together.
