Read this before boarding your dog here, if you care at all for their well being. I'm sorry, it's long. My first issue with this place is their pricing is not at all transparent on their website. Their website says $45 a night. This is grossly misleading. My dog is incredibly anxious and takes medication to help with that. They charged me to give her her meds that I provided for her. $95. Ninety five dollars to give a dog one and a half pills once a day. Not once did they mention this either on their website or when I was dropping her off. I shrugged that off. Irritated, but those meds keep my dog safe and I will pay ANY amount to keep her safe. And then I got home. Whereupon I noticed two large injuries on her front paws. One swelling abrasion, and one puncture wound. Naturally concerned, I called them to ask about it. The manager that I spoke to was very helpful and apologetic and said that he'd discuss with his staff and get back to me. He was polite and overall a joy to speak to and deserves a promotion. He said that he didn't notice any injuries on my dog during his time with her. After the call, I received a call back from the owner. He was condescending and short with me, blaming my dogs swollen paw on a grass allergy. Plausible, right? No. She is a mostly outdoor dog and we regularly go on walks in grassy areas. Beyond that- get this! He said during my dogs nail trim, he noticed the abrasion and thought nothing of it. His exact words were "it's like a kid at daycare, right? Sometimes they get hurt." Which absolutely makes sense, but the difference here is the kids parents would get a call, an incident report, anything to be like "hey this happened FYI." And if I had gotten a call I wouldn't be so angry. When I brought up the lack of communication (which, btw, I called 2-3 times to check on her during my trip and this was NEVER mentioned) he said "oh do you want me to make a note of that in her file to give you a call if something like this happens again?" (That should be default. Call the owner if something happens to their dog, what the crap?) And I said "no thank you, she won't be returning so that won't be necessary", and instead of working with me to find a solution, or at the VERY least offering to cover veterinary bills or refund the $95 that they didn't tell me I would be paying, he offered a very condescending goodbye and promptly hung up on me. Also please note that NO ONE NOTICED THE PUNCTURE WOUND on my dog over the course of her stay, when it was visible enough that we noticed within ten minutes. I respect that this is a family owned business and appreciate the work that went into building this, but the negligence and lack of communication and transparency is not acceptable. Not to mention the absolute lack of any solution offered besides "put Neosporin on it". TLDR: they did not disclose pricing, were very condescending, and my dog came back injured. read more

Captain Creek Ranch is the number one place for boarding grooming and daycare. I know if I take my pets here they will be loved taking care of and properly handled. There is a great staff that make sure that every pet is where they need to be. I love that I can get on Facebook and see daily photos of my pets while I am away also knowing that I can get add-ons such as peanut butter Kongs nature Trail walks playtime cookies for my baby's and even Sunday brunch I love that there's a trainer there as well so if anything needs to be done with my Pets, it can be worked on while they're there I know dropping my Pets off at Captain Creek Ranch. So glad I decided to use Captain Creek Ranch this last year. My dogs love it, the staff is amazing and the facilities are clean. My dogs don't go often but when they do they know exactly what road we are right before we get there. They can't wait to get in and see their friends! I would not waste time and money here. The owner has biopolar disorder. He was super nice to use at first then became a complete ass to us. He threaten to charge me to a service that he did not provide under no contract. Then pushed a monthly service on are dog then started charge twice what we where paying at the time. We where paying $120 to $130 for are small dog witch is 30 lbs. To $180 to $200. Dan Hover is a compleat dick. Since the there a new dog virus going around in 2023 that is killing dogs I did ask to quarantine my dog from the other dogs and he went on a rampage and told me he not going to build a hold new building for my dog witch I was not asking. I just told him to keep my dog from the other dogs to keep my dog safe. This guy only care about money and not your dogs safty. Keep placing the blame on me that I had issues. I would find some where different and find a place that care about your pet. read more

Pet Parents...wanted to share our experience. We took our dog to Captain Creek Ranch to board him for two weeks while on vacation and when we came back (mid January) our dog had a broken leg. He was picked up and we knew quickly he was having issues, he went to our vet that same day and the x-ray showed his leg was broken. When I called back to CC to talk with manager to find out what happened, no explanation was given and the manager got very defensive and told me that we signed a waiver....wow. So today April 5th he finally has cast/splint, wraps off his leg (it did not heal quickly). He went to the vet weekly to have leg re-wrapped on splint, several x-rays and over a 1,000 dollars to mend his leg. Needless to say I will not take him back there nor would I recommend anyone else to do the same...just saying. read more

Always a great experience over the last year. I have two very active dogs that have been at other dog day care in the area and this has been by far the best! Always happy and have had plenty of exercise when I pick them up They now know what day of week they are going. Excited to get in car and get there every week. I have also had my son's Siberian Husky groomed there multiple times when they are back from Colorado as they do such a great job and he always looks beautiful when done. Just sharing my experience... my golden doodle came back from grooming twice with the top of his nose bloody and bruised. He had a hard time walking as well. (The report was that he bruised his nose on the kennel run trying to get out. ) No explanation for his difficulty walking or standing up. I thought maybe it was his hips and spoke with the vet about it. The last time he came back from grooming there, he laid at my feet whining and was very slow to move the rest of the day. Since discontinuing grooming service there, my boys hips are not causing him any trouble. Again, just reporting the experience I had with my dog. read more

Captain Creek Ranch is Louie's 2nd home. He comes for daycare once a week ( for over a year) .He has so much fun playing with his "fur friends" and spending time with his " human friends " ( the wonderful staff ) .Louie has also had many "sleepovers " at the Ranch . when I was a kid, we lived close to Dan Hoover. He would feed my dog laxatives and scraps if it came into his yard and one day he called my mom, who was recovering from chemo, and said if she didn't come get our dog immediately, he would shoot him. So my mom had to go over there, super sick, and get our dog. We then built a fence to keep our dog in, but I cannot believe people trust their dog with this guy. read more

our doodle girls (one reasonable at 9, the other a happy-crazy 2) both love their daycare adventures at captain creek ranch. and because of a schedule snafu with their regular groomer, we were able to sample the talents of captain creek's grooming staff. the doodles look beautiful, of course, but even more important: their cuts really complement their personalities. going forward, i'll never use anyone else. the entire staff are great. read more

I have been a grooming and boarding customer of Captain Creek Ranch for seven years. My dog is an only child and gets stressed out when around other dogs and a lot of activity. He is never stressed while at Captain Creek. He eats and takes his medicine, where at other locations he would not eat for days while being boarded. The facilities are always spotless and being continually updated. Dan and his staff truly care about my baby and treat him like he is their own. They go above and beyond to make sure my dog is happy and healthy. My husband and I are not easily impressed; Captain Creek Ranch is incredibly impressive. We have moved from the area but still make the drive to Captain Creek for all of our grooming and boarding needs. read more

ALMOST KILLED MY DOG. DO NOT GO HERE! while staying there, my dog got a hold of a piece of a tennis ball that was lying around the play yard. He was unsupervised long enough to ingest the piece and it became lodged in his intestine. He was rushed to the vet where he required emergency surgery that was followed by 4 days in the ICU. Not a phone call you want to receive when you're on vacation and expecting to leave a member of your family with people you think are responsible where he will be safe. I had to fly home immediately while I stood by on his status. This was an extremely financial and emotion burden for me. The contract Captain Creek Ranch has you sign gives up your right to seek restitution in any incidence. After writing a letter to the managers and the owner, they came back and refused to make it right and still made me pay for his stay! DO NOT GO HERE. There are several other facilities in the area that are safe, reliable, and most of all looking out for the best interest of the pet and the owners. read more
