I'm writing this review because there was this amazing front counter member I asked her name and she said it was Savannah. She was so nice and polite and she had a genuine smile on her face. She was very sweet and helped me find out what I wanted even though I was confusing since I'm older I can't see stuff well. She also cleans very well and made sure the tables were clean. She also helped the elders by carrying their trays out to them it was so nice of her and she was patient. i honestly think she was the nicest person I met from this captain d's thank you so much Savannah! Haven't had CDs In over 3 years so today I decided to stop at this location while working in the Area. I came through the Drive through and a Woman By the Name Angelina has the worst attitude and tried to charge me $2 for one extra sauce because she said the Deluxe seafood platter in her words "you can only get one sauce and if you want another one you gonna have to pay $2 just one one extra" so I told her no it's fine and then she just threw my card at me and slammed the door. She's white with glasses and has freckles. If anyone who has some type of power over CDS needs to fire her she is the rudest person I've ever came across. And Hey Angelina if you don't like working here then stay at home. It's just so sorry y'all can't hire anyone who doesn't have an attitude. We were traveling thru Alabama last evening. We were leaving Florida in a hurry in order to return to our home in Indiana. We were trying to return before ice and snow covered the roads. We are I guess ..."reverse snow birds." Tried of the hurricanes and floods on the St Johns River. So we wanted fast food. We were pleased to purchase two huge fish sandwiches and fries for less than fifteen dollars. Excellent for fast food! A regular in my rotation. Loaded baked potatoes are a winner, and portions large enough that I usually get 2 meals from a 3 pc dinner.

Did not get what I actually ordered and part of the order was missing. When I got home and saw this I called and was told to bring the food back and talk to the cashier. Not worth the drive back to "try" to fix their mistake. read more

Catfish was inedible, and chicken was undercooked. Fries were soggy, and plain, and mac and cheese was artificial but lacking flavor. A box of Kraft Mac and Cheese would taste better. Coleslaw tasted gross, and hush puppies weren't noticeably flavorful. read more

When it is 8:30 PM and your sign, the lights around the eve of your building and the backlight to your drive thru menu are not turned on, your potential, paying customers will assume that either you are closed, incompetent or would rather not be bothered. This is the 2nd time this week we ate there and last. The big fish combo, Sat 02/08/2020 in the afternoon, the sandwich and fries were great, the fish wasn't as big as Entriprise but still good size. I give it a 3 star 1st time. 02/11/2020 afternoon, 1star, you only needed half the bun, I moved the fish over to the middle of the bun, half of the bun no fish and thin, 12 fries, you got to be kidding me. Lovely people here. My food was cooked perfectly and the proportions suited me well. Nice atmosphere for dining.

First off, let me say I am not a fan of "chain" seafood places, preferring those mom and pops closer to the beach. Second, I am not a fan of fried foods, but Capt. D's has added a complete grilled menu, and what I have tried I liked. Now for what I ordered. Last week I got an order of their lobster rolls just for a snack. They were the perfect size so we each got our own little piece of yummy! It is a salad that does have a bit too much mayo, but every now and then you get a large chunk of tender, sweet, juicy lobster. The rest of salad consists of shredded lobster, still very tasty! These little rolls made such an impression I rolled the dice and tried for a second time.....hmmm. I also ordered the fish,shrimp and crab cake dinner for us to split, along with an order (2) of lobster rolls apiece. I was rewarded with a large piece of whitefish, lightly battered and fried to a delicate crispy finish. The batter was just thick enough to coat, not overwhelm as sometimes is the case. The four shrimp were butterflied and also fried, very crunchy and "fresh frozen", but acceptable for the price of dinner plus 2 sides and pup-4.99. The crab cake was of the frozen variety, perfectly round puck of "deviled crab stuffing", my favorite thing on the menu.....lol! Our lobster rolls were the stars however. Each little sub roll, about 6", with a leaf of what appears the be romaine, and stuffed to overflowing with previously described lobster salad. Let me tell you it was worth the wait of the drive thru!! I do have a fear that my luck here will run out, if for nothing else, it is in Dothan, and every time I get to enjoying something, it either closes, undergoes management change or such. So hurry on down and try those rolls, you won't be disappointed! read more

Let's face it, in Dothan, we're close enough to the ocean to get fresh seafood, but you're probably not going to Captain D's for that. You're going for the consistent taste and, well, friend frozen food. That's not saying it's bad. Oh no, it's always the same good taste throughout the years, and the management here is always good. Stopped by while traveling on vacation. The food was not very good. I ordered the grilled fish and shrimp and my wife ordered fish and fry. We waited about 10 minutes for our food, but it was luke warm and bland. The skewer for my shrimped was burned to charcoal on one end and so was one part of the piece of shrimp on that end. This review is for the location next to I HOP. I go here all the time because it is on my way home from work. Typically the drive through to pick up dinner for me and my partner. The staff constantly complains that they cannot hear my order. I have to repeat it over and over. When I stated they needed a new speaker the staff agreed. My order has been wrong several times when I get home. I always call to let the manager know and never ask for any payback or rainchecks. I just want the manager to know. On this occasion, I ordered two meals but when I got home there was only one. I called to inform the manager and she said, it is no big deal....... That made me mad. it is a big deal. One mistake, not a big deal, constant mistakes over a period of months is a problem. I asked to speak to the supervisor and was initially denied, then told they would be in the next day. seems like the staff at the window is more interested in socializing that customer service. Why not clarify the order when taking payment? I made this suggestion to them before and they did not do it. Now my only option is to not go there anymore. Sad, I like Captain D's. read more
