I helped fix a problem they had with their billing computer!! They were very appreciative! I ordered a Martini; half gin, half, vodka, dirty, three olives. Ten minutes later, our server said there was a problem. What? The bartender told her there was no entry on the computer for a drink with both vodka and gin. She tried to steer me to another drink. I told her that I and others have been drinking a split Martini for at least 50 years. I told her that wasn't my problem, it was theirs. They figured it out. Also, they were embarrassed to report that they had no crab dishes of any sort. This was January, so, while I understand that live crabs are still sleeping at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay (that the restaurant sits on the edge of) we all know there are many sources of crab meat. Even if frozen properly (not in a frost-free freezer) the crab will not suffer a lot. Then, there are also crabs from the Gulf of Mexico. Other than these two challenges -- one solved, one not -- it was a nice first visit. I did find that the lighting over the bar -- individual unshaded bulbs -- were hard on my eyes from our table in the dining room, but I just moved to the other side of the table. Problem solved. This is a great little restaurant right on the water at the north end of Chesapeake beach. We met some friends there for dinner last night. The restaurant is part of the Herrington Harbor complex. It's a neat waterfront property with some tables overlooking the harbor. Although it was very cold outside, the restaurant was warm and inviting. Our table was ready right on time for our reservation. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. We started with fried pickles and crab dip. The fried pickles were very thick, which made them unique. The crust seemed to be cornmeal based, and was extra crispy. The crab dip was very cheesy. It was delicious, but I wish it had a little more crab. My wife had the meatloaf. Tasty, plenty of beef, and a different take on meatloaf. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was excellent. Crispy and saucy at the same time. The grilled cheese and crab soup looked good - I'll add them to my must try list. Service, food, ambiance were all top notch. Get out of the city, and drive til you hear waves for a great dining experience! read more

09.13.25 My wife and I decided to head to Ketch 22 for an early dinner. When we pulled into the parking lot, it was completely packed, which worried me since I didn't think we'd need a reservation before 5 p.m. To my surprise, when we walked in the restaurant was only partially filled, and the bar area was empty, so we took seats there so we could also watch the college football games that were on the tvs. The bartender explained that she had noticed the same thing when she arrived -- the lot was full, but it turned out there was a wedding reception scheduled next door later in the evening. We already knew what we wanted before we left home: the pork tacos, which are a favorite of ours. My wife ordered hers with cucumber salad, while I went with the fresh-cut fries. Both dishes came out just as good as always -- flavorful, fresh, and consistent. Between the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and even some live music outside, it made for another enjoyable visit. We'll definitely be back. read more

Great view, great service and great food, what more can you ask for on a Saturday afternoon. This spot is located inside of a resort, however you don't have to be a guest to enjoy the good eats. Let me start by saying the server was very attentive and knowledgeable. I started off with an orange crush, which was tasty. Then followed up with a crab cake entree with rice and Caesar salad which was all tasty. I do think the price was a bit high for the platter--I feel like the cakes could've been a bit larger I would recommend the platter if don't mind paying $59 for it, however it can be a meal for 2 if you make it. read more

Ketch 22 was a go to for water side dining. We were quickly served and attended to like we were the only patrons in the restaurant. I had an appetite for light fare so I went for crab dip, Ahi Tuna Taco and a side of cucumber salad, which I loved by the way. So much so the manager Andrea gave me the recipe (sometimes it's the little things). My waitress Emily K was on point with her other menu suggestions and responsiveness. Food, service and ambiance was definitely a 10! We referred family there and they had the same experience! Can't wait to get back! read more

Quite frankly, the atmosphere made this place worth coming to. We will go back. However, our shrimp was overdone, the crab quesadilla had about 2 teaspoons (not tablespoons) worth of crab sandwiched between an extremely flat (thin) and tasteless cheese. It was the smallest quesadilla I've ever seen. My husband got the pork tacos, which he thought were also overdone. It could've been that it was a very busy day, but flavor wise it was exactly what you would expect. The service was good. Our appetizer (quesadilla) came out after our food. read more

My perfect foodie bestie and I always get into something cool on the weekends. He knows I love the water so to end our weekend with a bang, he brought me to Ketch 22 for Sunday Funday! Oh North Beach, what a gem! Cute neighborhood spot, people had their boats docked, and were literally coming just to dine off their boats. We got an outside table, people near us were cool. We started off with deviled eggs, they were yummy! Had bacon on top. Good! Crabcake sandwiches hit the mark, comparable to some of Marylands finest I've had! Stopped in for a quick drink before a rehearsal dinner on a Friday evening! The interior is clean and the bathrooms were tidy. I liked the outside bar you have a wonderful view and there is both indoor and outdoor dining areas. While I only tried to drinks, the food looked amazing. My friends ordered the fried pickles and they relayed that the pickles may have been cut too large. The service here was awesome. Multiple outside bartenders and many of them helped when our friend passed out from the heat. They were calm and followed policy which I appreciated! I definitely recommend Ketch 22! read more

I use the term "Catch 22" all the time so when I saw this restaurant use that play on words we had to try it out! Sitting smack on the water in North Beach, what a cool chill vibe on a warm Sunday afternoon. Just 35min from the crib, Ketch 22 was well worth the drive. The menu is pretty standard for waterfront restaurants in Maryland so we both chose the jumbo lump crab cakes. They were delicious.. All meat and very little filler. The bacon topped deviled eggs were just as delicious. Service was outstanding and the patrons were super friendly. I'm re-discovering North Beach/Chesapeake Beach. Eventhough I loved everything about this place, I have to try other restaurants before I come back which is the proverbial "Ketch 22"..lol read more

We done here fairly often, have been for years. Rarely disappointed, I often get mussels, always a great choice. Fish and chips is another. Eating outside on the patio on a lovely day watching the boaters activity, nothing better. As the summer season comes to a close you still have time to dine outside. We came here at 5:45 on a Friday night and was told the wait was 20 mins. We waited 45 mins until we went back in and asked about a table. They told us we needed to wait even though we saw people come in after us and get seated. They said because we had a party of 6 (5 adults 2 under 3yrs old). We asked if they could put two tables together or even separate our group because it was going on an hour wait. They managed to find a table right then to sit all 6 of us. I ordered the shrimp tacos without the strawberry toppings and the tacos were good. I didn't care for the hard and soft taco that it came with but some might. They forgot the cream sauce on it but after they brought me some, the taco was delicious. I absolutely loved the fries and my Desert Rose drink was pretty good. My fiance ordered the fish and chips and that was really good. It tasted very fresh. The atmosphere was really nice. The place looked very clean. I liked the indoor and outdoor seating. The food did take awhile I guess because there was a large party there as well.i would come back and try other menu items! read more

I have eaten here 5 or 6 times now. I have never been disappointed. It is a favorite place Io bring out-of-town guests. Especially when the weather is nice enough to eat outdoors. Service has always been friendly and timely. There's usually plenty of parking across the street. The Chesapeake Sticky Wings are a must-try. I am also a fan of the Steak Tacos although their level of tastiness has not been consistent (different cooks, maybe?) I would still order them again. read more

I came here to celebrate my 52th birthday. This was my first here. And I was truly amazed with the lovely view of the marina and the water. We ordered brussels sprouts and the crab dip for our appetizer. Which was truly divine. for the main course, we ordered a crab cake sandwich with a side caesar's salad and a bumping burger with fries. The flavor on that crab cake blew me away. It was delicious. Ketch 22 is a cute restaurant. Open, modern and fun. My bestie and I sat in the bar area. Service was good. My 50 1st Dates drink was okay, on the sour side. Fried pickles were delish! Thicker cut pickles, breading seasoning was yummy. Our crab dip was good, nice amount of crab, creamy, but not hot enough. The accompanying bread was so yummy, it saved the dish. From the chic dining room to the picturesque landscape that it overlooks, this place is a paradise. Even on a rainy daylike it was when I visited for lunch with dear friends. I will most emphatically be returning for a repeat experience. I had the margarita flight, the last available that afternoon (lucky me!). It was refreshing and tasty and stylishly served. 5 out of 5 stars. The whipped feta cheese appetizer fresh and flavorful, 5 out of 5 stars. The fish and chips hot and tasty as was the shrimp tacos. One of the best places to eat in North Beach! The menu was recently updated. Some of my favorites are: the half and half soup (half cream of crab and half Maryland crab soup), the ahi and Atlantic cod tacos, and the fried pickles. The Maryland crab soup is made with a rich beef broth base and country ham. The fish tacos are hand length and stuffed to capacity with goodness. The ahi tuna is topped with pickled onions and the Atlantic cod is topped with a cabbage-crema slaw. One of the unique side options is a blue cheese coleslaw which is a must try.
