To be honest, everyone in the area was ordering this place on Door Dash so after delivering 10 orders, we decided to try it for ourselves. YUM! their breading is SO delicious. The food is big in portion and that is about the only good thing to say. Until about 2 months ago it was a decent place. I don't know if they hired different cooks, but now the food is terrible. I enjoyed it before, after it got bad I tried different things hoping some were still good. Only the burgers are still good, everything else is horrible!!!. The last two times I ordered the fries they were soft. The season the sprinkle on the food is high blood pressure waiting to happen. The fried chicken, tried it twice recently, is dry and tough. A place like this I tend to avoid so late at night. But it was my first night in town, I was just getting settled in for my stay, and I was a bit hungry for some of that good stuff from this part of the world. They had good reviews, so of course I checked them out. This spot is a cozy little late-night diner with an extensive menu. Pretty much anything you might want that late at night after hitting up a long happy hour or after a long day at work. There are a few tables available if you want to stay to eat, but it seems like most people just got their food to go. Decor isn't anything special, but the dining area is clean. I ordered a dinner combo of Grilled Fish (4 pc) & Grilled Jumbo Shrimp (4 pc), with a side of potato salad and hush puppies. Because f**k a diet, right? With a can of Sprite my total came to a little over $15. Not bad at all, especially considering all the food I received. And the wait time was just over 10 minutes. Again, not bad. When I got back to my room and opened the box I couldn't believe how much food I had! Four BIG pieces of fish. I also had some hot sauce and their house tartar sauce (DELISH!) included. I ate it ALL like a total fatty. The fish and shrimp were seasoned well, and the hush puppies hit the spot. I ordered the lunch fish, and it was the BEST Fried Catfish I've had in YEARS!!! I grew up eating at Catfish King, and bc of Captains AMAZING catfish, I've not been back there in years!!! I'm so happy my co-worker introduced me to Captains, bc I've gone there SEVERAL times in the past few years, and I haven't EVER been disappointed. This place is the closest thing to Chicago food for me. The guys who run it are nice and the food is seasoned and cooked well. It looks like the pictures on the wall so you'll know what to expect. My only 2 beefs(pun intended) with them is that they don't dip their Italian beefs and their gyros are "stingy"-- not exactly what I'm accustomed to back home(sliced off the spit, lightly grilled, then packed into a soft, fluffy pita bread topped with a slice of cheddar and tzatziki sauce - onions on the side, of course.) Highly recommend the grilled chicken and shrimp with rice, any of the salads, catfish fillets and the chicken wings. They have cake, too! read more
