I have no words! Hands down one of the best fish and chips spots I have been to!…read more Fish is fresh, never dry. Batter is super crispy never overdone or greasy. Portions are generous and the coleslaw and fries are amazing and complete the fish so well. I can eat just a plateful of their fries. Service is great, all the servers are so incredibly nice and friendly. It is always packed at lunch & dinner. Def a local favourite because everyone there knows each other. We tried the haddock, halibut and breaded shrimp! I wish I could have shared more photos, but when the plates are brought to the table I can't resist digging in right away! The menu options are great where you can get 3 pieces of haddock or halibut with 2 orders of fries. Lots of parking and plenty of seating inside. Takeout orders are 5% off. The menu is great with so many options! We first tried Joy's 6 weeks ago - we have been back almost every week since our first visit. When it's time to pay they give you a scratch card with your receipt - everyone is a winner. To redeem the card, spend $35 on your next visit for the free item. Some of the items you can scratch and win are , haddock & fries, halibut & fries, Joys feast special, large plate of fries. I'm sure there are more as these are just the items we have won. Options for fish and chips are very limited in Markham, so I love the option of visiting Stouffville nearby for Joy's Fish & Chips. Until next time...

Perhaps we'll try dine-in next time. Quite spacious in the restaurant with good parking outside. Fairly pleasant service. You get a bit of a discount if you pay by cash.

Tip: The halibut is exceptionally tasty…read more I like visiting this part of Pickering. There are a ton of businesses to explore. I visited Food Basics, Home Depot, and this Halibut House Fish and Chips for the first time in one visit. After shopping at the first two businesses, I was ready for a late lunch. I looked at this eatery, and felt that fish and chips were perfect. I drove over to this eatery. I backed into a spot and walked in. I got Sophia welcoming me, who ultimately was my server. She asked if I was here to pick up an order. Nope, I wanted to dine in. She said that I could sit anywhere. I chose a booth with a window view. It was comfortable. I got a menu. I looked at it. Halibut is my favourite fish. I normally do onion rings as the side. I saw sweet potato fries and went it them. My order: - Diet Pepsi (3) - Halibut and sweet potato fries Sadly, this place doesn't have fountain drinks. I was thirsty, which accounted for the first can of Diet Pepsi. My meal was generous in size, which required two more cans to wash everything down. I like that this place has both Coke and Pepsi products. It was also great to get a cup with ice in it. I liked the squeeze bottles containing ketchup and tartar sauce. They were easy to use without shaking a classic ketchup bottle to try and get the ketchup to flow. No mess. Great! I should invest in squeeze bottles at home. I loved my meal. The halibut was crispy and flaky. Delicious! It was my first time having sweet potato fries at any Halibut Fish and Chips eatery. They were excellent. I'd get them again. Coleslaw was a part of my meal. I loved it so much. It was fresh and had the perfect crunch. I polished it off first. I liked dining here. It's much nicer than the one in Markham. This location is definitely newer. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and tapped. Done! I used the washroom before I left. It was clean. No issues. I look forward to returning for more good eats when I'm in the area. (264)

Halibut House Fish & Chips shop gets my vote for fast casual dining and takeout. It's one of those…read morewell laid out modern restaurants with lots of room for the whole family, good lighting, and nostalgic comfort food at affordable prices. The cod fish was a decent size portion. It came with a heap of coleslaw and freshly cut fries which were served steaming hot out of the kitchen. Talk about freshness! Each table had a bottle of ketchup and a bottle of tartar sauce which was convenient for diners. Very clean and tidy inside. Service was prompt, personable and efficient. Check back for their special offers which are advertised on their window posters.

Been here for breakfast as well as lunch. Easy going diner style feel. Friendly service…read more Great breakfast deals! Very reasonable prices (rare to find in this economy). The sign outside visible off Hwy 7 that shows "Breakfast Special Only $5.95" is not outdated! This deal gets you an egg, 2 sausages, bacon, or ham,2 slices of buttered toast as well as some "homefries" which were just small cuts of potatoes (not your typical crunchy hashbrowns). They also offer breakfast poutine (pictured below) which are tater tots topped with cheese, green peppers and hollandaise sauce - a bit too rich for my liking but definitely tasty. Coffee is refillable. Plenty of parking as this plaza rarely gets busy. Breakfast items served until 2pm Their fish and chips are great as well. Nice, light batter compared with that of a traditional beer batter. Their tartar sauce could be better. It comes in those individual packets so not made fresh in house. They have daily specials - so gets busy on Sundays!

It was a good sized portion, and a good deal for only $14.99. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a light batter. A generous portion of fries, and a vinegar based coleslaw were included to complete a delicious meal. The only thing that would have made this meal better, is homemade tartar sauce, rather than the little packets. If you're in Markham, off Hwy 7, between Markham Rd and 9th Line, check out this place. They offer fresh seafood, and great service, with ongoing specials!
