Awesome store! I love VHS's and this place has a lot of them, if you're lucky, you'll find some nuggets.

Not a great selection of titles, mostly DVDs, some VHS and Blu-ray. Cases feel dusty, felt uncomfortably quiet in there.

It has that nostalgic charm that makes you want to take your time and dig around for hidden gems. The worker inside was super friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated being able to browse at my own pace. Prices were fair, and the selection included everything from well-known classics to more obscure finds you don't see too often. The store is owned by The Record Man next door, which focuses more on vinyl records, so it's a nice combo if you're into all kinds of physical media. There's a small parking lot between the two shops which makes it convenient to check out both in one stop. I ended up finding a few cool items to add to my collection and will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area treasure hunting.

All records in here are just $5, which made buying here an absolute treat. I walked out with 4 LPs for the price of a lunch. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly. They went in the back to look for Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode when I asked, and brought out CDs even though they did not have the vinyls. It turns out they are attached to the neighboring Record Man store, and they suggested I look there for LPs. I would definitely come back and highly recommend!

This may be my favorite used bookstore yet!…read more The ladies working there were so welcoming and friendly. They let me and my boyfriend in a few minutes before opening so we could get out of the cold. So thoughtful. The selection was amazing. I snagged some older titles and then came across a table with some newer titles and all $6 and under. What a bargain. Will absolutely be back!

This place is really hole-in-the-wall basement ish warehouse type feel bookstore. The prices are amazing for the used books. It is incredibly reasonably priced. I found two children's books in very good quality for $1 each. What a steal! For the most part, don't expect finding hot new bestsellers in here. This place is like for book antiques or if you need a used copy of something that might be a few years back. It was good for what I needed since I'm looking for some older historical fiction books about the American revolution. I was surprised to find two books here that I needed and so maybe you'll get lucky too! The couple who owns this place are very friendly. They said hi right upon me walking in. Selection is pretty wide, the books genres are organized in a neat way but the books themselves are scattered. For example, the fiction and nonfiction adult books are alphabetical order by last name but the children's books are not. It made things harder for me to look but I didn't mind since I had time. If you're in a rush then maybe this place isn't the best or just ask the lady up front for help! Overall this place is a gem and the proceeds go to a good cause--San Mateo historical foundation!

I wasn't able to use it online, which was my first issue. I figured it would work better in store, so I delayed picking up a new game (Lego Batman!) so that I could use my gift card on it. I came in today, and they didn't have the game (even though it was released about 2 weeks ago). I was offered the game on a console I don't have. Brick-and-mortar store, you had one job. I eventually settled on buying a Mario Galaxy Amiibo. The first register wouldn't take the card, the second register also wouldn't take it. The employee told me to call the customer service number (vs trying to help me resolve this). I went outside and did it, and the automated system told me that there was an error with my gift card and to go back into the store to resolve it. I had zero confidence that spending more time on this would resolve anything so I gave up. Another thing I noticed was that there were 4-5 employees around doing things but somehow I ended up waiting in line for a long time. Will definitely be avoiding spending my money here. As I was giving up on Gamestop I placed an online order for Lego Batman for pickup at Best Buy on my way home.
