All in casual conversation, I described my interests and concerns, and she raced around the shop bringing things to try on; a lot of sets and pieces I loved that I never would have imagined myself in. Brett offered fitting services, but she really provided a safe loving environment for me to explore and find new dimension and affirmation inside and outside the bedroom. The brands are well-made and much of it surprisingly reasonably priced. I love it here.

They have helped me when I've had a couple of hours, and they have helped me when I have had just a few minutes to spare. They are interested in being of great service and helping you find exactly what you need. I don't have any idea how the buying is done at the store, but they managed to seemingly not have one million different brands, but just a few, but something for everyone. Although it is definitely true that you cannot go in without making an investment, the quality of all of their pieces is extremely high. For example, I bought a pair of pajamas here, some years back, that are still an amazing condition, even though I wear them effectively every day! They also really believe in old-fashioned service and in _really_ helping you figure out the right size, which might change over time ;). Saluting Maddie, in particular, and the entire team who works here. I believe the person who helped me most recently, was named Chelsea, and she was also incredibly knowledgeable. This is a store to make investments and I have never regretted a single one! Although it's true that since I have known it, I have not gone in more than once every couple of years (in my next life, I can go in more frequently!), each time it has definitely been worth the wait! In that way, I would say the value is very high, despite wincing just a bit when I walk out.

I was checking out some of the wares in the front case when the older employee with short hair and glasses said to me, in the most condescending tone might I add, "These are expensively priced. Maybe you admiring the case itself?" It was so hilariously rude that I had to write it down here on yelp so other people could laugh with me. I'm not sure what kind of day she was having, but as a teacher, I'm always telling my students to stand their ground against bullying. Mind you, it's never that deep. I'm browsing. You work in an empty underwear store. It cannot be that serious. If you come here, make sure you're wearing a hat with a big luxury logo on it or something so the employees don't get scared. Someone in another review for this same store said that Dark Garden at 321 Linden St has better customer service, and their yelp reflects that, so I'm going to make sure I stop there tomorrow. A few months ago, I was in DG being fitted for my Beau Brummell corset (absolute work of art) when I started having lower back pain. I left that day wearing an off the shelf signature waist cincher and the pain disappeared. 2 x-rays and 1 MRI later, I discovered my back problems were actually being caused by significant lumbar spinal damage (Surprise!) It is hard to leave my house/travel by car because of pain & discomfort right now, but what makes movement bearable is how I wear this waist cincher every day. I'm a very fit & active person, but put my hand to God when I say my DG cincher works better than PT, strength training, opioids, and everything else I have deployed in my arsenal to combat chronic back pain. It compresses perfectly & outperforms the (cheaply made) back braces you see on Amazon, not to mention other (non DG) corsets I had in my collection. I can wear my cincher for long periods of time without it digging into my skin or riding up uncomfortably. Self lacing is easy and fast. I am deeply thankful to Autumn for noticing my back pain & selling me this cincher as I left our appointment that day. It allows me to have an almost normal range of motion and improves my quality of life. It's also keeping me from having major surgery. The added benefit is looking beautiful as I navigate serious injury. This matters because having high morale during a low point in life is also important.
