8-17-24 Late Lunch Let's cut to the chase this place I had bookmarked and it had many reviews so I thought it would have been a winner. Sadly it was not and joins the group of one and done. We parked very close by and once inside waited for the hostess. She appeared in a matter of seconds and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. Since we could see from the outside it was screened in we chose outside. Unfortunately with lack of air movement it was warm and the smell of fried fish hung in the air. After we ordered our drinks I ordered a Moscow Mule as none of their specialty drinks sounded too interesting to get. Hubby got a Miller Lite in the bottle. After reviewing the menu he noticed a lack of non seafood items. I told hubby we could go after we get our drinks but he insisted we stay. So he chose fried pickles for us to share and a burger that said 8 ounces but was really 3 ounces after cooking which came over cooked without condiments requests ie mayonnaise. Due to the late hour he just grinned and beared it. The fried pickles were ok I have had them before at other restaurants. They give you a generous amount as we didn't finish them. I ordered the Fried Flounder platter. Note you can only get fried I asked, or grilled not broiled. It came two big pieces of fish on top of French fries and two hush puppies. Flounder has always been my favorite fish this dish was ok nothing memorable about it. I think if it was broiled in butter it would have enhanced the flavor more as I really didn't quite get the flavor this way nor did the hush puppies. My drink the Moscow Mule was meh and so was the flounder platter. Disappointingly so therefore we won't be back. It's not like they could have made it better other than air circulation, cleaner table, ketchup bottle full ours was empty but the fries looked lackluster so I skipped. One and done.

What a great place to go to get awesome service and delicious food! We were greeted and seated very quickly. We came in for lunch and we were looking for some delicious seafood. Our waitress was kind, attentive and friendly! We ordered hushpuppies for appetizer and they were delicious and big! For our entree's we ordered grilled shrimp with green beans and fried shrimp with fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. The grilled shrimp entree also came with red potatoes but I did not want potatoes, so she offered to give me extra green beans which was so great! The inside has many tables, the outside is covered and filled with many tables as well and they also have an upstairs! The bar area is small but I feel like that is not a problem at all. When we are around this area again, we will definitely be coming back!

We were seated fairly quickly on this busy Sunday, and met with friendly service. Hubs was starving so he ordered their corn bread muffin app. and fried squash appetizer to get the ball rolling. The muffins were a disappointment because we don't care for sweet leaning cornbread, but that's our taste preference. The fried squash was a home run with almost a tempura type batter over yellow squash spears. They were fried to crispy golden, the batter stayed on, and the buttermilk dressing was a wonderful accompaniment. I could have eaten the plate full for lunch and stopped at that! Their breakfast and brunch menu is extensive, but I settled on their 2 piece Fried Chicken with 3 sides and opted for mashed potatoes, stewed okra and tomatoes & fresh cucumber salad. Delish! Hubs thoroughly enjoyed his fried pork chop, butter beans, mashed potatoes and creamed corn, also. Their Peach cobbler was a perfect end to a yummy meal. No canned peaches used today! Fresh sliced peaches with the perfect amount of cobbler topping served À la Mode was very yummy! The decor is fitting with vintage advertising signs and painted farm animal artwork. We could hear the rooster in the nearby coop and see their crops growing in the distance. A working farm AND a working restaurant all rolled into one. We will return!

It was full of flavor, juicy, and perfectly paired with ranch dressing, lettuce, pickles and incredibly ripe, fresh tomatoes. The atmosphere is nostalgic with beautiful decor that adds to the charm. The service was excellent! Everyone I encountered (from the staff to other customers) was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Even the restroom was spotless, which says a lot about the care they put into the place. I also grabbed four ears of corn to go. They were freshly picked and only 75 cents each! Such a great deal for such high quality. There were also other plants and veggies for sale! I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. I will definitely be back!

The manager was more than just nice - she was warm, friendly, patient, and kind. She was BUSY. Phone calls, long line, deliveries, and she handled them with ease and without a drop of sweat. She was kind to every person she spoke to, including her staff, and I love that leadership. The women who brought out our food and snagged our dishes were also kind, funny, and they just knew how to best make that restaurant sing. People smiled at them because they've come here 100 times, and each time they were treated with kindness and familiarity. The FOOD. The value for dollar is HIGH here. $10.99 for a monster meatball sub with delicious meatballs and plenty of tomato sauce and cheese just melting all over this delicious sandwich. Every cheesy melty bite was amazing, per my kiddo, and when he couldn't finish it, my husband happily finished the sandwich down to the last bite. We got the Philly sandwich on a great gluten free bun and the Power Bowl with shrimp. Both were WONDERFUL! The Philly y'all. ALL DAY. The peppers, the deliciously seasoned beef, the great bun, all fabulous! The Power Bowl was filling, fresh, and I loved all the plump shrimp! I also appreciated that they put the dressing on the side! Cappy's Allergen Friendly Bakery sells their cookies here, and do NOT sleep on the Iced Oatmeal cookie. Some may hesitate because it is soy, dairy, nut, and gluten free, but that may have been one of the best cookies I've eaten ever. Perfectly balanced and chewy, not overiced, and the cinnamon in there was perfect. I savored that cookie for as long as possible. Cap all this off with some unsweet mint tea, and perfection! We will absolutely come here again - I am so impressed by the people and the food, and I cannot wait to see their continued success!

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
