Shopping can sometimes be stressful, but never when you actually look forward to placing an order with Kendrick.

I twice tried to get the sales price on a product and twice was not able to get the correct price at check out. Unlike all other stores, they require you to "clip" coupons in an app to get sales price vs. just giving you the price when you use your phone number. And when the app did not have the sales price, I was reluctantly given a refund. When the manager came over, she seemed annoyed at me and could have cared less. Unacceptable for such a high end store. I would avoid it.

That impressed me. I had been shopping a lot at Lidl and when I was walking around Giant o saw many of the prices were compatible. I also love how Giant had many local food products including Ben's Chili, Ledos pizza and local bakery items. It's nice walking into a grocery store that anywhere you turn you see a Giant employee and they are always friendly and happy to help. Giant is my go to grocery store now and it has been for the the past year and don't know why but I get excited when I pull up to my local Giant.

So today I ordered from the Tyson's location. The item I received today is now over 2 months past its best by date (05/29/26) and it should've been removed from the shelves. They need to check their stock and remove expired items. The DC store had a best by date of 7/9/26.

Since being acquired by Safeway/Albertsons, the "specialty", in a specialty store, has pretty much vanished. I still do believe that their bistro meals, ordered with care, can be a budget, friendly, yes, I do mean budget, friendly, alternative to fast food (herb, roasted turkey dinner with fingerling potatoes and green beans are $16 and can last for two meals) Their carrot cake, has always been exceptional and remains so The disappointing part is how Balducci's now stocks basically Safeway products and up charges considerably for them. (perfect example is their prepared coleslaw. ) Items like cucumber salad, herring nibs, and other items have disappeared in favor of commercially packaged items. I always found their fish to be fresh and flavorful, but now I have seen a decline in the quality of their fish. Recently , I went to get one of their wonderful cups of coffee and found that that Service no longer is available. This HT is only about a 7 minute walk from my house and I like that they have a garage to get out…read moreof underneath. However, people can come through or out of the street into the garage in about 4 different ways so it can be a little tight around the entrance of the garage. Their cart escalator doesn't work at the moment so you have to go with your cart on the elevator but that's not too bad. They have a Starbucks with a big cafe area with chairs if you have some work to do or would like to enjoy a cup of coffee before starting your grocery hunt! They also have some outdoor seating and have both cashiers and self checkout-- the self checkout line does tend to have somewhat long lines anytime I go though. More importantly though, this grocery store is by far my favorite. They have most of the things that I used to shop here for, minus Arizona ice tea and pasta salad. I picked up some interesting organic kombucha drinks, some graham crackers, and Rotoni pasta. There were a few more things that I wanted to get, but I didn't have a way to carry them to my place.
