We used to go to popeyes for chicken, but we both have gotten tired of them. We were the only ones there at the time, and it looks like they make it fresh when you order, but not sure if that is still the case when it gets busy. I got a 2 piece combo and my friend had a chicken sandwich. He was a big fan of the previous popeyes chicken sandwich, but not the one now, and he says this one was better than the current popeyes sandwich. I felt my chicken was good too. Taste wise, I felt the flavour tastes very close to KFC, except not as salty as them. One drumstick was standard size, but the other thigh piece was huge. Fries was ok too, they use the bugger ones than most fast food prices. Price, I thought it was pretty standard for like other fast food places. Would come back to try other items.

Something new is about to hit Toronto, that's never been seen before - authentic London Style Fried…read moreChicken. And I got to eat some yesterday during the quiet soft launch before the grand opening this Friday (so there - sticks tongue out). Ok, but much like I was wondering, as I'm sure you are, what's the deal with LFC and why is it different than southern fried. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, in London, UK, the most popular late night/afterbar food is NOT curry chips (fries), that's the late night snack, but the real late night choice of Londoners is chicken. Fried Chicken, London style! While there is breast and leg available, the big difference with London Fried Chicken is succulent, plump wings, battered and fried to a crispy perfection (but not as crispy as say a Popeyes where there's an audible crunch), but let's call it and "approachable crunch", one that gives the mouth feel of crunch, without being overly greasy and yes still easy to bite into with minimal crumbling/mess. The seasoning on London Fried Chicken is both regular and spicy but not as spicy as other southern fried places - but don't be naive there is still some kick. Best of all, the way they season the chicken is that it's not just skin deep, it goes deep into the meat - ughhhhh so deep, it;s so good when the 'seasoning' goes deep. *shudders*. Oops, ok that got weird as I relived my eats from yesterday. I apologize if I creeped anyone out there. #sorryNOTsorry. I went with a 6-piece of wings and 2 chicken breasts. Which might sound like a lot but it was totally manageable and I downed it right fast, best of all the price -UNDER $12 for all that chicken. It's only the soft opening until Friday so they're just getting feedback on the chicken, but as of Friday they will have an assortment of sides, salads and even fried chicken filet burgers! I spoke with the duo responsible to bringing this concept to Toronto and they said their focus is on keeping prices affordable while bringing the best quality chicken to locals. They have no plans to be on any delivery service in the near future so you need to get to Islington and Lakeshore in south Etobicoke ASAP before it's too late Eatcrest Out

Another hidden gem found !!!…read more Gully boyz is the newest Indian street food fusion resto in the game doing burgers, bowls and rolls! BUT that's not all, you can CUSTOMIZE everything to your preferences. We got to try the following signature options: - Crispy Old Delhi Butter Chicken sandwich - Masala Beef Karahi bowl - Tender Lamb Kabab roll - Paneer Tikka Kathi roll - Butter Chicken Poutine - Masala Breaded Onion Rings - Ferrero Rocher shake - Kit Kat shake Okay you guys, I am not kidding when I say this place does both QUALITY and QUANTITY like no other !!! Their butter chicken was soooo creamy and flavourful, the beef and lamb were both so tender and juicy, the paneer was so yummy and thick cut pieces so so filling. Not pictured are the shakes but they were so thick and delicious! Literally every item was bang on, from the sandwich to the bowl to the rolls! I've also never tried a fried chicken sando with butter chicken sauce and it was IMMACULATE, gully boyz y'all are onto something here haha :P I also HAVE to mention, their rolls were made with lachha parathas which is exactly how it's made back home in Kolkata so this was definitely a trip down memory lane for me :) Thank you Nalin for the incredible eats and amazing customer service, I wish you all the best for your restaurant and can't wait to see the success you achieve! Gully boyz is a ghost kitchen concept and is tucked away in Etobicoke on Lockport avenue along with many other restaurants as well! So what are you waiting for ?! Check them out y'all, trust me this one is HIGHLY recommended ;)

Interesting set up…read more The kitchen and seating area was open to one side and the other side was closed off with what seems like a grocery store. They have decent amount of burger selections, all pretty mouth watering. Got the Firefly with an extra beef patty ($6). The habanero sauce had a mild kick to it and would personally enjoy more of a kick. Restaurant should consider the option of providing a lettuce wrap on top of your gluten free bun option.

TOP GUN!!???!! I give this place a 1.5 star not a 5 star Fly by Salute…read more Maverick, Goose and Iceman would be disappointed if they were to visit this restaurant establishment. Located inside a butcher shop the place is really small and looks like it shouldn't be there at all. The prices on the menu is quite expensive like come on it shouldn't be price that much you're located in a butcher shop. It's not like you're paying a lot on rent. Anyways came by here because TOP GUN as a whole was celebrating their 4 year anniversary and they had a promo for their HELLCAT burger for $5 a 6oz burger that usually goes for $8.50 for $5. Anyways I told the cashier guy about it and he told me yes $5 for the mini hellcat burger for $5 which is a 4oz. and I told him now it's your HELLCAT for $5 anyways in the end I was already there and I wasn't planning to drive this far for nothing so I was like fine give me your $5 4oz hellcat burger and a $6.50 poutine. For was ready in about 5 mins. Now on to the grading of the food. The $5 4oz burger was a okay nothing special I wouldn't pay $5 for this at all especially for a 4oz. totally not worth it Burger King JR whoppers are far better than this burger and a cheaper price too. Get me thinking how would this actual Hellcat 6oz burger would have been if they actually were providing it during their 4 year promotional deal. This 4oz burger was soo small and the bun was bigger than the meat which I really not a fan. And the bun was toasted. The $6.50 poutine was okay nothing special wished I didn't' order it based on the unhealthiness it looked. Didn't really stand out for a poutine very generic. Would I visit this location again? Probably not and I wouldn't probably visit any other Top Gun locations as well due to their misleading promos. Specialty burger joints are a dime a dozen in the GTA and they have a hefty price to pay to eat there. I'll be very selective with how I spend my money at these type of restaurants and it's definitely up to myself to choose wisely. So for that I will definitely look elsewhere. If you were to try to TOP GUN try another location would be my suggestion to you. Stay classy Yelpers and remember "KNOWING is half the BATTLE"

I added lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and mayonnaise. Unfortunately, The onions are tainted. They smell really funny, and taste dreadful. I think they have spoiled. They are kind of soggy, but the smell is really bad. They were not cut fresh for the order, and it honestly looks like they were sitting out for a really, really long time... or the onion was tainted and they decided to chop it and serve it anyway. Unfortunately, the onions have contaminated the entire burger. Before I even ate the burger, some of the onions actually fell on top of the fries and the taste was absolutely dreadful. And the smell! The smell is horrible!!! I want to stress this isn't some nitpick from a harsh critic! Any chef or cook should have noticed this!!! The restaurant needs to throw all of the onions out. They are no good! This is really unacceptable. The restaurant should be tasting the ingredients and checking things before serving to customers. This restaurant is aptly named - the chefs don't care. They certainly said "Kluck It" when they made my burger! I will never be ordering from this entire location again. I don't need food poisoning. I can only imagine what other safety "standards" they have in place at this location. I'm getting serious Kitchen Nightmares vibes here.
