This review is long overdue! Gabe and his team at Capture Me Studio photographed and videographed our wedding three years ago. As we celebrated our third anniversary last week, I was overwhelmed with thankfulness to be able to relive our day through the beautiful photos and videos. Capture Me Studio truly captured every magical moment. Gabe worked within our budget and was even flexible on the day of. He stayed longer than contracted for the videographer at a discounted rate! He also had a very quick turnaround time - our wedding was October 9 and we received our gallery on November 13! Going into our wedding I knew there was one thing we couldn't "skimp" on: the pictures that would last our lifetimes. We looked at numerous vendors but when Capture Me Studio was recommended by our wedding venue, we knew we had found the perfect fit. Wowed by their portfolio we made the call and never looked back. Initially, we were just in the market for photography but seeing their stunning video work made us realize that we'd regret it if we didn't go with the full package. From the outset, Alex was easy to work with, helping us put together our package, determine the "shots" we wanted and quickly pivoting and finding a solution when the photographer we had chosen tested positive for Covid days before our wedding. On our wedding day, Alex and Brandon were on point and extremely helpful at directing us and making sure we didn't forget any of our "must have" shots. On top of that, they were warm and kind, and frankly, fun to be around which set everyone at ease and made for better pictures. I was most impressed with their ability to sneak in and get the shots they needed without ever being in the way or making us feel distracted, allowing us to stay present for our special day. But let's get to why we're really here, the final result! We absolutely LOVE our wedding pictures and will cherish them forever. The colors are so vivid, the poses so natural, and the framing . . . I mean there are shots in here that could be on a magazine cover! I mentioned earlier, Alex and Brandon's almost uncanny ability to sneak in and out of moments to get the shot they needed, let me tell you they got some of the best candid shots I have seen from any wedding. I'm SO happy we added the video package, it brings the day to life, capturing the small moments that would otherwise be missed and encapsulating the beauty of both the venue and our wedding day. I'm not gonna lie, I was very skeptical about the studio when we first booked with our wedding venue because Capture Me Studio was included in our venue price and we had very limited communication despite the contract stating we'd have communication a year prior to our event and we didn't have communication until 4 months prior. BUT once that communication was open, it was great and the photographers that were assigned to our event, Brandon and Cory, were AMAZING! We are not the professional photo taking type of people and they made it so easy. We also received our entire wedding album just 2 weeks after our wedding and we're in love with all the photos. The quality of our wedding photos produced by Capture Me Studio were great but they were unprofessional to work with and we would never recommend them. Communication was good up until the point we signed our contract and they had our money. After that, there was little to no coordination for our wedding day. We paid to have 2 photographers at our wedding but only one showed up. That's 8 hours of photo coverage that we paid for and did not get. And since we only had one photographer, a lot of time was spent WAITING to take photos. That's time that should have been spent actually enjoying our wedding. On top of all that, the one photographer didn't even take all the photos we requested (i.e. closeups of wedding rings, matching Marvel-themed socks for Groomsmen, etc.). Capture Me Studio was also supposed to let us know who our photographers would be 2-4 weeks before our wedding but we didn't even meet the photographer until the day of our actual wedding! And since we expected 2 photographers, we paid for 2 meals - that's wasted food and money! The owner, Gabriel Valdez, did not even apologize for the missing photographer until AFTER we finally complained (we waited until after we got our photos). His excuse was that the photographer who was supposed to work our wedding had a death in the family and could not work. I find that hard to believe since they did not communicate this information before, during, or even after the wedding (until we brought it up). We asked for a refund of $1,200 since their hourly rate for an additional photographer was $150/hour ($150 x 8 hours = $1,200) so we thought it was fair. The owner instead tried to weasel out of giving us compensation by creating a documentary-style wedding video that we did not ask for to try to "make up" for the missing photographer, and he only agreed to pay us back $200. He also tried to give us a free photo session, which we also did not want since we no longer had an upcoming event. We did not accept and never heard back from him after that. If you are looking for professional wedding photographers who are good at communication and will not make you wonder if they will even show up at your wedding, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more
