I asked so if I come around 3:30 it should be ready. He said yes. At 3:00 when I got home I called again expecting my car would be ready and I wanted to get the price so I could bring enough cash. Stephen again answered and told me "it was the next one in the bay". They close at 5:00. The last thing I wanted was a rushed job. Plus I felt lied to. There are many other shops that can replace brakes in my area. I will avoid this shop in the future and save myself time and frustration. Plus I don't want anyone rushing to get my car ready. After I got my key from the office I caught Shal to explain my disappointment after I took so much time to get this vehicle dropped off and picked up by another friend. Neither he nor anyone in the office seemed apologetic nor care that they didn't get my car ready as they said. Too bad so sad was their attitude. I searched the internet and found out it might be the (EATC) the electronic dash controller so I purchased one an replaced it myself, well that let it work for a few days. So I'm back to square 1, so I found out it could be the Blend door actuator, this Item opens and closes the doors under the dash that adjust the Climate Control in the Car, basically the AC/Heater settings so once again I order the part and find out how to change it out on the internet. 2 days of pulling the dash apart and got it done. Great ! AC for a few more days Bang it goes Hot again NO AC so after this I was totally stumped so for course I had to wait a bit and put it in the Shop so I took it to a local reputable shop and they Found a leak in my Upper AC hose, so they fix it but the only thing was it took them 10 days to get the hose because of Part supply chain issues, but they got it fixed a recharged Yay!! Right ? Wrong 10 days later it just starts blowing hot again. At this point I'm like Bull%^*&, and a couple more *&^%^%^. So I took it back to the shop the said they were stumped too. I had told them I changed the Blend door not long before I brought it to them, so they didn't check that again and they told me to take to another shop or the dealer that might have a better Idea about what was going on with the AC. So of course I was looking for to spending the Money I knew was going to be alot, mainly because the whole dash was gonna have to be removed to get to the core of the problem. OK here is were my actual review starts, I start looking for a few places that specialize in Auto AC but most of them were miles away in Knoxville so I was a little disappointed the next day I got a coupon card in the Mail from CarFix auto repair in Maryville so I looked it over and called them. I was Professionally Greeted by Cade Larkin one of the service writers there he was very helpful and encourage me to bring it to them. And he said they would find out what the problem was, so I told him I would be there the next Day. I was greeted quickly all of the crew there are very Professional. Cade took my key and the check out was being done, I was expecting it to be quick and I would just be on my way back home, still driving a hot car. Well they quickly found what the problem was, apparently...the blend door actuator had failed I guess it a common thing with some electronic parts. So I remembered how long it took me to change it the first time under the shade tree,, 2 Days sweating !!! So cade gave me and estimate and assured me it would be fixed and that the part would be under Warranty for 3 years and believe the labor was included in the Warranty for there service, so its like 95 degrees outside Id had enough of driving around in a hot car!! And I told Cade lets get it done, I told him I would wait a bit. He was very attentive he kept me informed of the progress. He told they could give ma shuttle ride home, but I ask if they had Loaner cars. He went out of his way to get one returned early for me. I had brought the car in around 9:30 am at the point that I left was about 12:45PM with the Loaner car. I was gonna do a few errands but decided to go home and get a Nap. At around 2pm I received a call from Cade telling me I could come get my Car!!!! The reason I tell my story is it was the Friday before the 4th of July weekend, this CarFix location was Great!!!! And they even put my New Car Tag on for me. This place is my new go to for car maintenance and repair when I need Service on my car again. Thank YOU Cade and CARFIX!!!!!!

I am a resident of Kodak and needed work done on my 2006 F-150. Was having torque converter shudder…read moreand needed it replaced. I frequent the convenience center in Kodak and couldn't help but notice a huge sign advertising Jim's Automotive. I called Jim and he stated that he did that type of work (I've always supported local small business) so I booked the job with him. Now please understand that I am ASE CERTIFIED Technician with 40yrs experience. I booked this job with Jim as I am new to the area and do not have a lift available to me to do this job. The work was done on 5-1-26 On 5-26-26 my truck suddenly began to shake at high speeds and shudder at low speeds. This is text book tell tail sign of a torque converter pump fins falling apart. Upon speaking with (what I would imagine) be Jim's service writer it was confirmed to me that they used a remanufactured torque converter. These used parts have a 30% failure rate. From 2017 thru 2022 I was the Mgr of A Oreilly Auto Parts store 5227 in Miami Florida and never recommended any reman part to a professional shop due to their failure rate, this being a starter, alternator, a/c compressor and least off all a torque converter. The difference in price is minimal but the quality is monumental. Shame on me for not seeing any ASE signage and not following what I preach. Only allow fellow ASE Certified technicians work on my vehicles. Jim gave me a total BS story that what I was feeling was a misfire from the motor. He stated the the torque converter showed no sign of failure and would not be honoring the warranty. This is typical shade tree mechanic excuse. Do not recommend this place for any type of serious work. If you need any type of serious work done on your vehicle go to Ricks in downtown Sevierville.

Of course I assumed AC work may or may not be expensive depending on the problem and after receiving a high quote I needed to run it by my husband. Also come to find out they charge mostly the labor because we found the parts I needed online for $215. (My quote was almost $1600 not including the money they robbed me of) They said they still needed to charge me ($217) because they topped off (it wasn't empty) and recharge my ac. I didn't ask them to do either of those things, just to run a diagnostic which I would have paid for if there was a cost for that, no problem. I asked the man at the counter if doing those things was going to temporarily help with the cold air and he said yes. A lie. Come to find out because my issue is my compressor, recharging and adding more Freon was a total waste of time and money. That's $217 wasted on something I didn't even ask them to do. I imagine they won't be willing to refund me so all I can do is try to help someone else to STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!
