I had a deeply disappointing experience with Car Doctor Window Tinting. Unfortunately, my interactions with them left me questioning their professionalism and trustworthiness. From the very beginning, the communication was poor, with promises of timelines that were never met. I felt misled about the quality of the work, which did not live up to the expectations discussed. When I attempted to address the issues, I was met with dismissiveness and a complete lack of accountability. What stood out most, however, was the owner's unprofessional attitude and lack of respect for customers. Not only did they fail to deliver the service as promised, but the rude and condescending behavior I encountered made it clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. I called Paul last summer told him my tinting was bubbling. He told me what to do since I was in Florida at the time and would send me the info I needed to have replaced. Never heard back from him. Called him weeks later, out of town, call him back next week...well you get the idea. I moved back and left more messages to finally speak with his daughter who was rude and say she received my nasty message from me. I explain to her that was aggravated customer who is getting the run around. She was not helpful nor tried to assure me any way of resolving the problem. Yet to to hear from Paul to resolve the problem. I feel I have every reason to be annoyed. I will take my car somewhere else and my word of of better services. My husband wanted to try this tint place out in place of our usual, even though I said "I don't want to try out any new business like that, when it comes to tint"... but of course, I gave in and we tried them. At first, it seemed it was a good idea. Needless to say, with the 1 star (wish there were a lower amount here) we will never go back to this supposed business. My husband called prior to us just showing up. He had talked to the owner, which claimed we could get all the windows 27% (legal) tinted plus a 5% strip along the top part of the windshield for $160.00. When we got there, the same day, the owner had already left. We talked to someone else and claimed we couldn't of talked to the owner because he wasn't there. - I guess you aren't allowed to leave or have a cellphone, even if you're the owner. He claimed the owner was out of town. Had been for a week. I told my husband I did not want to do this here. He said "overlook it.. they probably just got the dates wrong" To please my *sigh* husband, I had asked straight out if there were any cars around to show me exactly what the tint would look like after it was put on. The guy that we were dealing with said that the one sitting out there (pointed) would be the color we had chosen, including even the strip on the windshield. I started talking about how the police would cause an issue if we got anything other than legal and he said that they do illegal all the time, on trucks, police cars, business.. whatever. He then said, they don't care, they pay and we do it. Claiming they were friends of the entire Horry County police force, that they do all their vehicles. After about 30 minutes, we came to a conclusion we were not going to get the "deal" we were offered verbally over the phone from the owner, but at another deal of $170.00 for legal plus the strip, if we did it that day, in cash. If I even wanted to put a carbon tint on the windshield, I'd need a doctors order, but the strip is fine to do. I said it was okay, just do all that plus the strip, my husband wants it, so we'll go ahead; it was getting around 4pm and I had other things to do, plus they were closing soon. We had to leave to go get the cash from the ATM. We should of not went back, like I was saying. We got back within a few minutes, rechecked what we going to be done, and we were there for about 20 minutes before I had my husband go around and check because I felt something 'off' about this whole thing. ...The entire time, that guy and another doing our tint came in and out and the one answering the phone, they were all putting down other customers, other tint businesses, along with many other things... He came back and said that they're about done but they won't do the strip because according to the guy that we just got through talking to about what we wanted, they don't do windshields, at all, not even strips. He lied straight to my face no less than 20 minutes ago. The guy answering the phone giggled when my husband told me what he said, he noticed he laughed out loud and then stopped. So the guy comes back around and I said I wanted to talk to the owner. He said "he's outta town like I told you before"; both the guy answering the phones and this guy were unprofessional and very rude after that. My husband reminded him that he just told us the $170 would include the windshield strip. He claimed he did not say that, that they don't even do windshields and don't even do illegal tint like we wanted so they had to do 27%. I told him "that's what I wanted, including the strip" - I kept my temper for the fact my husband told me on the way to the ATM, "they seem like rednecks"........ this guy then starts cussing us, that they don't do illegal tint. I stood there in a realm of his stupidity thinking I was going to fall for all these lies. I kept my anger just to get out of there. The guy answering the phone wasn't even going to give us a receipt claiming the tint wasn't legal. I said you must be inbred because you just heard that prick say it was legal. My husband says that it doesn't matter if it's legal or not, give us a receipt. The guy says we only give receipts on legal tint, b*tch. I made him give me one regardless, by threatening to call the police - I know it was a civil matter, but in honesty, they were being that unruly. I only had to say it once. I then said as we were leaving, for those that are such great friends with the Horry County police force, you would think that a person just saying they'd call the police wouldn't get you so upset, don't cha think? Even after all that, it turned out that the tint job was just as terrible. We let it cure for an entire week; just to make sure. All the windows had air bubbles so bad, some huge, that it was no use keeping it on. There are complaints about this company all over the internet- too bad I saw them after this. Needless to say, my husband listens to me more. At least something good come of this. read more

They did good on my other two cars, but can't seem to get my brand new car right. This will be the 2nd time I have to go back. First time it was a "problem" with the tint now this time they just completely skipped fixing a window , not to mention they left my car a mess- inside and out. Last time for them considering I lease my cars... I'll just have to go elsewhere for the next car. read more

First 2 vehicles they did for us came out decent. My wife's brand new VW they just couldn't seem to get right. 3 trips there with the same car in less than 2 weeks and it still isn't what you expect a "professional" tint shop to do. For $240 I really expected a much better job, not to mention every time we got the car back it was absolutely filthy. Do yourself a favor and avoid the aggravation, go elsewhere. The only reason I'm giving them more than one star is because they honored their warranty. Our next brand new lease will be getting tinted somewhere else. read more

Car Doctor was hired to put film on my small kitchen window. It took them about 15 minutes. The owner told me to call them in a week if it didn't darken to match my other window and they would come out to add another layer of film. This was last April!! I have called repeatedly, had the company that hired them call, and have spoken to the owner. I'm still waiting. I would not recommend Car Doctor to anyone and in fact will warn others to take their business elsewhere. They, obviously, don't stand by their product or their word. Carol Woodard read more

Hahaha. Unlike the ladies review before me. I think they do a great job. I've had them tint at least 6 or 7 trucks/SUVs for me over about the past 10 years and they actually tinted my newest truck about 5 days ago. Almost every time I call they get me in either that day or the next. They are always quick so you don't have to sit around all day behind 10 people in line like some other places. I just sold my 2002 Tahoe last summer that they also tinted for me about 9 years before. The tint looked just as good when I sold it as it did the day they put it on. The only thing I can think of is that the lady from the previous post got her tint companies mixed up or was high as a kite when she went. I just looked at her yelp profile and it would appear she is one of the many people that just gets on to leave bad reviews. Anyway, keep up the great job guys and I will probably be in soon with my wife's new SUV. read more
