The guy who I later learned is Ozzy, said bring the key snd the cylinder, but then I thought to myself, I might as well try to drive the car so he can test it. I'm glad I did because based on what Ozzy was quoting me over the phone was quite less after he ran some tests with keys he made and tested them to the door and ignition. At the end I left with a new key for the ignition, doors, and trunk, as well as a spare that will work the doors and my original key that can still work with the ignition. I hope to not have any future key problems with the cars, but if I do, I won't think twice about going to The Car Key Shop first.

What he didn't mention, was that he would have to delete ALL keys already programmed to my vehicle and reprogram ALL remotes again and charge me full price for each remote. I checked with another Locksmith (Gio Keys) and he confirmed that ALL keys do have to be deleted and reprogrammed, but it was included with the reprogramming, as it only took an extra 2 minutes for each additional key. A1 Locksmith tried to take advantage of the situation to make some extra cash for a minute or two of his time‍, just to sit there while the machine did the work!

Last Minute Service We called and he told us to come within 10 minutes since he was about to close. We rushed over and he still helped us, which we appreciated. Pricing and Negotiation Originally quoted around $110 for a key with buttons, then $85 for a basic chip key. We told him another place offered $60, and he matched that price. Compared to other places we checked, he ended up being one of the cheaper options. Key Quality The key worked and started the car, but initially the top part was very small and looked taped/glued instead of being a full, standard key head. Resolution After calling back, he explained he didn't have the full top piece at the time but offered to provide it later at no extra charge. We went back and he did fix it by giving us the full key, which we appreciated. The only downside was having to make another trip. Service Experience He programmed the key on the spot and tested it multiple times to make sure it worked. The process itself was quick and straightforward. Parking We parked in front of the driveway since he works outside. It is a residential area, but it did not seem to be an issue.
