I get my car cleaned at Car Pool about once a quarter when I need the inside and outside of my car cleaned. They have different tiers of cleaning and I always get the RVA ceramic shine and add the dash protect. They clean every surface of the car inside and out (including trunk, mats, and wheels) and wipe it all dry. My car leave shiny. Depending on how busy they are, the attention to detail on the clean can vary. I've had better luck going on weekdays. The wait has typically been about 20-30 minutes. i have used Car Pool before and now a complete scam. I paid $60 plus $10 for a tip for a car wash, spray wax and half done vacuum of the floors - much like you would get at an Exxon car wash for $15. Done with this place. First -my wife's car was damaged there. The attendant didn't apply the parking break on another car and it rolled into hers - causing thousands in damage. While they will be paying for all repairs, she was never even refunded for what she'd paid that day. Then I went today - badly just needed a car wash and had no other good options - and was verbally berated by an employee when I didn't hear my number being called when my car was done. They when you show up they have a very easy and organized way to get you in a through to where they take your ride and start it through their wash. I appreciate how this place is full service because it's nice to have someone else do the vacuuming. However, for the price they charge, I would expect them to pay more attention to detail. A couple of months ago, I paid for the most expensive cleaning and had to go home and finish cleaning the inside because it was still dusty and the cup holders were still sticky. They also didn't vacuum around my child's car seat. Today, I paid for the $35 cleaning and it was the same thing- I had to finish the job myself... I give them a one star as I sit and wait for my car (again!) I purchased the $42 package and tipped well for my car not to be clean. Not only is my car not clean when I pointed it out to the staff member he got a huge attitude, was rude, and acted as if we was going to hit me, so staffed grabbed him and held him back and then finally walked him away. I've never been to a place more unprofessional. I will never return here again. This was also in front of my 4 year old daughter! 1. The exterior wasn't cleaned. The front was full of bugs and dirt. The sides had dirt. The tires looked as if they were shined, but that's about it. 2. I opened the door to place my daughter in and her side of the door had not been cleaned at all! Her side is the main reason I took it in to get cleaned. She had some yogurt that spilled in the door. After I refused to take my car in the condition it was in (I wasn't rude, but stern!) they said they would take it back. The gentleman that said my car was ready the second time was nice, but once again I showed him the exterior of the car was t clean or some of the interior (see photos). At this one I was done and wanted to leave. The gentlemen stood in my car door trying to talk. I explained it wasn't clean and I'll never come back due to the customer experience. He said he just cleaned the bugs off as I was sitting in the car (lies - she's photos). I asked him to move from standing between me snd my car door 3 times! I had placed my seatbelt on and my hand was in the door handle attempting to close it, but I couldn't because he was standing there. He said that he didn't want me to say I'll never come back. I told him I wouldn't, I was dissatisfied, and I was in the process of writing a review (then showed him my phone), which he wasn't helping by refusing to let me leave. Finally he moved and I pulled away. Oh, I also mentioned how unprofessional the other gentlemen was and how he shouldn't have a job acting that way towards customers. When we got into the truck it hadn't been vacuumed, windows hadn't been cleaned, and only the dash was armor alled. Talked to a manager and at least he vacuumed the truck out. My floor mats still looked dirty after I paid for them to be pressure washed and cleaned. Reported all this to the manager and all he did was vacuumed the vehicle out. Typically I have a great experience at this Car Pool minus one issue. The floor mats. I have Weather Tech floor mats and always pay to have them washed. I think of the multitude of times I've come here they "washed" them one time. They always vacuum them nicely but this past time there was some dirt from my sons shoes in the backseat floor mat and while it was vacuumed it was definitely still there - if they had "washed" it, it would be gone. I purchased the Pro Wax package from Car Pool at Short Pump for $54.95. This was my first experience at a Car Pool and I will not be back. We arrived at Car Pool Short Pump on a Sunday around 11am. The gentleman at the check-in area at Car Pool stated that he had already sent his detailing team home for the day "because it was slow." According to the Car Pool website, the mini detailing team is suppose to be available daily (weather permitting) from 9am-5pm. After waiting over an hour, the final results were quite poor. Almost immediately, I noticed several large spots of wax still left on the exterior of the vehicle, a semi-vacuumed interior (dog hair still left on the seats and cargo space), and streaks all over the inside of the front windshield. In addition, the front desk attendant did not seem the least bit interested in remediating the sloppy job that the Car Pool staff had provided. The speaker announcing your car is ready isn't always the clearest. It would be nice if they just texted our phones. It would also be nice if they accepted Apple Pay but now I'm just being snobby. Great Car Wash with people whom care when they arent busy, good place and services but a bit pricey

Before I start my review, I should warn you that I'm a gear head and perfectionist when it comes to cars. I'm also from California (which is a car heaven in terms of climate) so I'm used to much cheaper washes with better quality results. In my experiences over the past year, I've not once left this establishment thinking "wow that was a great wash and totally worth the money." Car Pool looks nice, however during my past year of frequenting this place, I've come to realize that it's just overpriced and a terrible value. For instance, I took it there this past week seeking a full wash with wheel and under carriage washing because I just drove to Richmond from my home in Los Angeles, so it clearly needed a good scrub. I bought their $30 (approx) wash, one below the top wash. They said it included a seat and dash clean, undercarriage wash, wheel wash, etc. After about an hour and a half (they were busy) it finally was "finished." I noticed right away that the passenger seat still had a mark on it, but I thought I'd just clean that myself at home later. The rest looked good as far as I could see (though I approached the car from the rear). When I got home and got out, I noticed the front of the car still dirty with bug marks and dirt, the front wheels still had brake dust on them in some places, the wheel wells were dirty (so terrible undercarriage wash) and as I mentioned before the seats were still dirty. Likewise my left front headlight is now completely filled with moisture. Very frustrating. I won't be coming back. I've been going to this place for over a year thinking the next time it will be better, yet I'm always let down. And another thing-- DRY THE CARS COMPLETELY BEFORE RETURNING THEM TO CUSTOMERS! This is literally my biggest pet-peeve as a car perfectionist. I understand that there are nooks and crannies in every car where some water will naturally drop from for a while after a wash, but seriously, your driers suck. I usually end up coming home and grabbing a shammy and having to get the water marks out myself. Maybe instead of spending money on pointless gimmicks like "free wifi" and such, they should invest in some better staff that actually cares about the cars they're washing. And for God's sake please lower your prices! I think the only reason people pay that is because they A)Don't know any better or; B) there are no other car washing options in Richmond. No joke, what I paid last week would have bought me two car washes back home with the exact same features (undercarriage, interior clean, etc). A wash like this would never happen back home. I love it when employees at a business remember me; it shows appreciation and great personal customer service. Waited in line only to have them refuse to wash jeep, when I got to the front, because it had a rack installed on it. Never had any other car wash turn me away before. The place is spacious with lots of room to sit and wait, the area is clean and my car comes out without any issues as long as they are not busy. I normally go for the RVA special and it covers a lot. It's a great deal if they are in no rush. Some complaints are that it's hard to hear my name over the loud speaker, it's not kid friendly and there really is nothing within walking distance to grab a bite. But I'm out within 30mins.
