service was terrible. I was stranded at a gas station near the shop. I called them. they tried to charge me 150 to tow the car and 450 to do my shift cable because it "snapped". I told him I wasn't from the area and couldn't afford to stay at a hotel and wait till the morning for the part. he told me to I had to wait.something threw me off and I got a mobile mechanic. turns out all I needed was the bolt for it. they lied and tried to rip me off. read more

Asked for only an oil change and was charged $85 for it, including $5 for new washer fluid which was not asked for/they did not say they would be doing. When asked about the washer fluid they said $5 wasn't a big deal, but when asked to remove the charge because it wasn't originally disclosed, they took it off the main part of the bill and added it again as a separate item. And yesterday, 3 weeks/a few hundred miles after the oil change, I got an alert in my car that the oil needed to be replaced again. read more

Called in. They said come in one hour and my inspection would take 15 minutes. Got there in one hour. Had me wait in my car for 45 minutes. I asked how much longer it would be before they could see me and they told me that I have to wait and it doesn't matter what they said on the phone. Guy then yelled at me and said I wasn't special. DON'T GO HERE! Unbelievably horrible experience. I called beforehand to get a quote on the price of inspecting my car. The guy on the phone says "$34," which sounds great for me. I get to the garage, and the same guy says "$34, no problem." When the inspection is over, the same guy comes in and says that they'll charge me $80 (no additional inspection had been done or parts replaced)! I told him what happened and he argued with me the whole time, finally bringing down the price to $60 (as if he were being generous making me pay $26 more than he originally quoted me). Classic bait and switch scam artists here folks. Go somewhere else and save your money. TL;DR - Don't trust the quotes, these guys will scam you. read more

Good work & customer service, but very overpriced. I brought my car in for a power window motor and an oil change. Victor was pleasant to deal with and gave me a ride to work. The work was done in a timely fashion. While they charged fairly for labor, they charged $150 for the motor, which from all sources I can find (including a local auto parts store I called), runs $40-50. I would have been comfortable with them marking it up to as much as $75, but $150 seems like extortion. In the end, I needed the work done immediately and so agreed to their price. In summary, they are pleasant and did good work, but buyer beware as to the cost of what they install. read more

I went there and told them that I just did maintaince yesterday, but they acted like it's none of their business. Victor is the man! Had a great experience getting my car tuned up there. I came in needing an oil change and was a little worried about my brakes because they felt sort of weak, so I asked him to take a look at those. Turns out my car had an axle issue, not a brake issue, which was reassuring he found that because it could have turned into a safety issue. It felt good knowing too that my brakes weren't an issue when some chain places could have just made something up about them for an extra charge. Victor had the work done quickly (dropped off at 8am, got it back at 8am the next day) and for a fairly reasonable price, no nonsense "inspection" charges or other stuff a lot of chains get away with. After trying and failing to find another mechanic recommended to me by AutoZone to install new headlights, I came to Atlantic. I needed an oil change and a headlight install. Victor discovered that my headlights hadn't burnt out like I thought, but a small corroded wire cap on both sides was the issue. I dropped my car off at 4pm on a Monday, and had it back at 8:30am Tuesday (only because Victor had to get the caps from elsewhere in town.) My husband and I were on our way home to Asheville, N.C. from Maine when we broke down in White Plains. We were steered to Victor from a shop up the road that could not fix our vehicle. He was like a guardian angel. He could have robbed us blind, we had no choice but to get the van fixed to get home. He was honest, more than fair with his pricing, professional, and just a really nice person. He explained everything needed and the choices we had. We were forced to get a hotel room because it was a big problem. He called us and kept us up to date on the progress and really worked to get us back on the road before the weekend. Victor treated us like we were his oldest, most valuable customers. His work was fantastic, we have put another 2500 miles on our vehicle with no problems at all. There are a lot of businesses that could learn a lesson about customer service from this man. The only problem ... he is too far away to use as a regular mechanic.
