I would be careful on how this man quotes you. Did research on parts before he came to appraise the job. Part on local parts store were only 300. Bob quoted me 750 for parts no proof of where they would be purchased or any type of order number. Just required 750 up front since he had already placed the order according to him, as if trying to bully me into paying him since he had to be the one to order the parts. When I asked if other opinion where available he told me it would be a ridiculous amount of money for labor if I wanted to hire him for the job that would be the price. Sounds like this guy just wants to bully honest citizens with no proof of purchase of anything. Bob was on time, professional, and took the time to teach me a few things I could do on my own which I thought was nice of him. I had made an appointment to have my started replaced, and if he could also pick up the Bart for me. Bob showed up with a new part and in 20 mins my starter was replaced and good to go. I just moved out here and was stressed that I wouldn't be able to find a mechanic that was mobile, but I'm glad I found Bob. My car was having battery problems, and I knew it had been a few years since I replaced it, so I thought it was time for a battery change. I contacted Bob and he came out to next day, ran a diagnostic test, and confirmed it was indeed time to change my battery. I had already purchased a battery from Autozone, and he was able to swap the new battery right where my car was parked. I don't think service gets any better than what I received from Bob. We just bought a new RV in Grass Valley and flat towed our Subaru Forrester from there to Salinas no problems. Then we drove the car maybe 10 miles and noticed that when I engaged the clutch it would stop the car. I knew it had to do with the tow brake we had installed which is a cable that runs from the bumper to the pedal. So I called Bob who at first said he couldn't get to us until Sunday (This is Thursday) and when I told him we were trying to leave Salinas Sunday he got us in that day at 2. Get a call around 11 from Bob saying he's on his way. Bob gets here and looks at what's going on and takes the time to watch multiple videos on YouTube to understand the project. An adjustment to the breakaway lock by placing it 1/4 of an inch back took care of my problem and he only charged the initial fee. I can't recommend this gentleman enough if you want an honest mechanic with a great ethic. read more

I found Bob by doing a quick search for "car mechanic". I was looking for someone trustworthy and reliable they could help with a project on my older model Chevy suv. I didn't know exactly what I needed for the job I was trying to get done, but I figured someone who does mechanic work for a living, and that has been doing mechanic work for some time could help clarify exactly what my project would need to get done effectively, efficiently and on the budget I was trying to keep. I came across The Mobile Car clinic and saw that the reviews were positive, so I reached out. After not answering my initial call, Bob was very prompt in getting back to be the same day within a few minutes of my call. We talked about what I was trying to accomplish on my project and agreed to meet so that Bob could assess my vehicle and determine exactly what may need to be done to complete the project. I left that meeting feeling confident that I had chosen the right person for the job. Bob informed me that no parts would be ordered until he had the money to order them. I told him, that I was okay with that. A few days later I was contacted by Bob and asked if I could meet again so that his friend, who specializes in custom car work could look at my vehicle to help him determine if any parts would need to be fabricated for the job. I agreed to meet them again, at their local daily hangout spot. Again I left feeling confident that Bob was the person I wanted working on my vehicle. Bob reiterated that no parts would be ordered until he was paid for them. A few weeks pass and I get a text from Bob with a list of parts and prices. He tells me that the parts will take a few weeks to get in. The following day, I reach out and to Bob and ask if he wouldn't mind sharing the parts manufacturers and where I could just order them myself for the points on my credit card. Bob vehemently refuses, and tells me that if I must order the parts through him and that if I did order the parts myself he won't do the work. A day later I reach out to Bob again to order if he's willing and I at least just share the actual part manufacturers with me so that I had some peace of mind as to what I was actually paying for. His response to me was that he was now refusing to do the job. Personally I don't see what the issue is with someone, who is spending close to $1500 for parts, wanting to know what exact manufacturer part is going into their vehicle. I thanked Bob, and I am moving on, but will caution anyone who wants to give this guy a shot, proceed cautiously. I believe his attitude and actions after I asked for the parts manufacturers was very unprofessional, and he could have tried to see things from my perspective, which he obviously did not. read more
