I had an absolutely amazing experience here working with both Rich primarily and Jimmy for paperwork later on. Both of them did a wonderful job of working to find ways to meet me where I was at and match what they had to me, not convince me to take on something they thought I needed. I never even felt like I was being sold to buy something but rather they did indeed have what it was I came in to find and buy already. Rich worked with me tirelessly to understand what my situation was, needs, wants, requirements, limits, preferences, etc. This really made me feel valued and understood as a car shopper with unique needs for how a car fits me as a person and the lifestyle I sought to match it. I knew what I wanted when I came in so this did help him identify my car specs. I also already owned a car by this dealer from another location for 4 years as is so the reputation and brand already sat well with me as it was. But even so, Rich really took the time, made the effort, and went the extra small steps to work with me on price, trade, discounts, APR, as well as simply pointing out factors of the car I sought out that matched my unique needs and wants in a new Hyundai vehicle. Although I was planning to hold for 2-3 months before trading in my previous Hyundai for a new model and make, Rich ended up making me an offer I simply could not possibly refuse (after my pass on 2 prior offers!). His candor, professionalism, concerns for my needs really won me over. From initial car questioning to test drive to the next day's follow up, he had my interest in mind first, not his of just making a sale. Jimmy then continued this support and care with paperwork and final sale specs making super clear all details, terms, numbers, and specs of the payments, coverage, warranties, etc. I never felt intimidated or burdened or confused by an onslaught of papers and terms but rather guided slowly through the process. The service department proved dishonest, holding our car for days, making one repair, when the simple fix was a tire replacement. Even then, they recommended one tire, claiming it would be another day or two before they could get it in. Bought 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe . Was not told about not being able to wear sun glasses while driving. The face recognition camera can't see your full face with sunglasses on so it turns off the cruise control. So basically you don't have a cruise control if you wear sunglasses. Dealer would not take car back and wasn't very sorry for my problem. Don't buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe if you wear glasses and won't cruise control. read more

I thought their close neighbors were bad, but this place wins the award for the most unprofessional and questionable selling tactics. We spent approx. 3 1/2 hours trying to come to a "fair" deal. In the middle of the exchange, they interrupt us and said the car had already "sold". They promised to find us the same car and bring it in. Of course, they searched the entire state of Texas and surrounding states for one and couldn't find one. The salesman and sales manager promised to call at noon the next day. (yes, we're still waiting...lol) They obviously didn't like the deal and had to find a way out of it. Beware of the "packages" fees they include and try to get you to include items you don't need. (nitrogen air, windshield coating, etc.) It's obvious this dealership looks for unsuspecting customers who aren't informed. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

For a car buying experience, they were surprisingly fair. Buying a car in Angelo is akin to trying to get good sushi in Wyoming--only a couple games in town and they know they have you if you want it. Of all the dealers I visited, this was the ONLY one who gave me a price as soon as I asked. Big plus. Additionally, their negotiation tactics were not as offensive as some of other dealerships'. I had visited All American Chevrolet before that, where the guy literally had to go ask his manager for a price as my brother and I were leaving. But here, I was immediately given a price, and my deal ended up being handled my two brothers and the GSM/GM (I'm still a bit confused about his title). Anyhow, they were fair and knowledgable, even honoring a higher price I had gotten before on one of my trades (I had two). Amazing dealership! Dealers came up and asked me personally about my vehicle. Within a few seconds of driving into the service department, I was checked in. Only after a few minutes was my car's oil changed and I was ready to go. The waiting area is the best I've seen at any Hyundai dealership. There are what seems like plenty of seats for you to wait on. A nice chimney-mounted television ensures that you won't be bored staring into space while in the waiting area. I've been to this dealership three times. On my most recent visit, a local car enthusiast group were allowed to hold a car show and competition. Well, first of all, you need to be aware that your experience at any dealership will depend on how you conduct yourself with the salespeople. I expect businessmen to be businessmen, so don't let my positive review cause you to let your guard down or fail to do the proper research in order to determine a particular model's price, or keep you from going over whatever car you're interested in carefully and having it inspected by a mechanic. The way I measure a dealership's quality really comes down to the price they're willing to sell the product for. In my case, it was a dark gray 2010 Hyundai Elantra Blue. The final asking price was $12,700, down from their initial asking price of $14,000. My very first experience was negative: I called and asked if they had used Elantras in stock. When the salesperson asked for my name and number, I refused to give it to him, and he hung up on me. I was a little annoyed. I almost didn't go back after that, but I decided to check out their selection in person. The Salesman assigned to me was named Jareth. I appreciated his low pressure approach. He did try some of the typical car salesman lines, such as trying to take the focus off the bottom line price, but overall, his approach was quite BS-free. I came in 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night, but he kept his impatience to himself. He seemed sincere and genuinely eager to make a good impression. I felt like he was my ally (which means he's a good salesman). If you go there, ask for Jareth. But, as always, you're responsible for not getting ripped off. If you're ignorant about car prices or a pushover, you're going to get ripped off. I'm sorry, that's just how humans are, especially when they're trying to make a living. Negotiating was kind of hassle free. It's a stupid charade, no matter how professional a face everyone puts on. They were reasonable: they didn't give me BS for wanting to take the car to a mechanic in the morning. I settled on the price that night, then came back the next morning. I spent about an hour waiting for proof of insurance to come through via fax, and they never came across as impatient. After the car was inspected, the inspector told me the car needed new tires. I pointed this out to the manager. It took a little bit of hemming and hawing, but he offered to replace them for free with factory tires. I really aprreciated the fact that they didn't try to throw on a cheap set of tires or give me any trouble by trying to raise the price. They could have taken the price of new tires off the car, but they saved me a lot of trouble by offering to replace them for me. The last event of note was that there was a problem with my bank. I forgot to sign an online document, so the financing check was a couple days late. They were very polite about informing me that they were, ahem, still waiting for their money, which I was happy to get to them. Overall, I was very surprised by their service. In my experience, most car places in San Angelo are inhabited by crooks (I heard many horror stories from friends). The people at Car Town Hyundai came across as eager to please their customers, willing to abandon the typical salesman BS, and willing to negotiate. Like I've said twice now, you are responsible for being assertive yet respectful as you deal with these people, as with any other salespeople. I expect them to try to get me to spend more money, but my expectations were exceeded because they were willing to return my honest and respectful behavior, especially Jareth. read more

We went in to get "the prize" we won as former customers. They use very pushy sales tacticts. The first salesman Shannon was great, my husband and I would have made a deal on a nice Santa Fe, but his supposed uncle came over to "help" him which only annoyed me. I don't like being snowed. I balked and was going to leave, but another so called closer came over and began his spiel, omg, these people really think we're stupid. The first car I bought from them in 2008 had a busted ring from the factory, they did not replace it as a lemon but made me keep it, I spent more time in their rentals the first year than in my car before they finally got it fixed. The second car I bought from them was a used car which had a factory recall on it they failec to disclose to me at the time of purchase. Do not shop here -- especially military. I encourage you to shop Jim Bass or Mitchell Toyota. I was on a short TDY in San Angelo and needed to make a trade-in. Initially, I shopped at Jim Bass and Toyota, which had far more experience and friendliness. I was intrigued by the Elantra and decided to make my rounds to Car Town. The people appear extremely helpful, but I had an awful first-time buyer experience. I had a change of mind based on some very valid reasons, immediately after the purchase. They hadn't processed any paper work being it was after hours and they refused to make accommodations. So in keeping the car, the salesman promised to clean up the car and give a full tank of gas, I expected that. They didn't follow through. There were sticker marks and debris. The sales manager purposely overcharged taxes, after I told him what the tax rate was for my home state. I never received reimbursement for that over-payment. They promised window tinting and never followed through. I had to pay to have it put on. I followed up with them constantly, never bothered to pay for the tint. I found out they rolled the price of the tint into the price of the car. After this they refused to pay a check until three-months later. Returning home I found a better experience at my local Hyundai dealership. They offered 5 years maintenance on a trade-in. Although I did not trade-in they offered to clean my car to make good on what Car Town would not do. Perhaps they've clean up their act by now, but my overall experience from the GM to salesman was horrible. Shop at your own risk. Again, shop Jim Bass or Mitchell Toyota. If you're looking for Hyundai, Shop San Antonio or Austin, it's worth the drive. read more

My twenty something daughter shows up in my driveway with a car she bought from Car Town Hyundai for 6800.00. I could tell there was something wrong immediately. She was adamant that it passed Car Town Hyundai's 121 point check. Within 90 days we took it to a dealership that services Mini Coopers to find it needs 4000.00 in repairs. I spoke with the manager who promised to take care of us but offered 4000.00 in trade on a more expensive car. I am seeing other posts on Yelp that are similar. Bought a cash car from this dealership and what a mistake. I came in looking for a good school/work car that worked and got me from A to B. I paid a low cash amount for a car thinking it would need work but not that it would break down in a day! The car literally gave out the next day I bought it and I was told by the salesman there was nothing he could do. Keep in mind this was saved up money from a 19 year old for about a year. I believe they knew the car was bad from the start, and sold it to make a quick buck. DO NOT GO HERE. They will not treat you with the customer service you deserve. Worst experiance ever!!! found a car for my son to look at on line, he is a 19 year old airman. I had him called to confirm the car was available to look at before arranging for a ride to the dealership. When he arrived he was told the car was at a sister dealership. He requested the dealership make arrangements for him to look at the car. The sales person told him it just sold and was no longer available. The dealership than tried to sell him a car above his price range. The sales person my son encountered was one of two thing "incompetent" or "shady" because he seems to be playing a game of bate and switch with young unexperienced buyers. read more

Back in May I bought a 2013 Ford Escape at this establishment. Loved the little car, was very happy. On June 18, 2016, I got my plates and then I supposedly put a hole in the radiator. I called and Dallas, one of the finance people, said to bring it in, I had extended warranty. I had it towed, I was given the use of a little car from the lot and all was ok until Monday, June 20. I was then told by Mike in service that the extended warranty would not cover it and the radiator and thermostat would have to be replaced and it would be $1700. I told him that was not possible and later that day it was down to $1122. Still wasn't possible so Dallas was going to try to get me into another car. A deal was made on a 2014 Buick Encore, that I never expressed even the slightest interest in, but was told it was my only option. Only the fact that they sent the paperwork over with the VIN of the Encore and the model of the Enclave, saved me from having to take that car. Capital One said it was not acceptable, as it is a legal document and can't be sent through that way. I did point out to Jareth Bogs the fact that it was different and he checked with Dallas, who chalked it up to an inattentive office girl, and he said it would be fine. I was then told since I was not happy with the Encore and out of ALL the vehicles in possession of Car Town, none would work, that I would just have to take my Ford and see what I could do. Now comes the interesting part of the story. I was told that it would not be covered at all. I called the warranty company, Ethos, and spoke to a young man named Chase. Not only did he tell me that the radiator IS COVERED in certain cases but there had never been a call made to them from Car Town Hyundai. So he could not tell me if anything would be covered since no contact was ever made! He did advise me since I did not want to deal with Car Town anymore to have it taken to another place, preferably a Ford dealership and the warranty would cover the cost of the tow. If it was deemed that I was responsible for the radiator damage, they would require photographic proof of the damage. Again, had a call been made to them from Car Town, they would have known this. Fast forward to today, Tuesday, July 5, 2015, I speak to Jim Bass Ford, where I had the car taken. Not only will it be able to be fixed at no cost to me but it actually still has factory warranty coverage since it is just a 2013 and has less than 36,000 miles. Now, had the "service director" done his due diligence I would not have had to be without a vehicle all this time and it would not have cost anywhere near the $1700 I was quoted. If they were not so busy cementing the "used car salesman" reputation the business already has, the problem could have gotten this taken care of with little to no fuss and a lot less aggravation on everyone's part. I will let you know that I was advised by the warranty company to contact the Attorney Generals office regarding the matter. As for how I would rate my experience with Car Town? That would be less than one star! read more

About 3 months ago my wife and I decided to go out and test drive new and used vehicles. We ended up test driving 2 vehicles, a Santa Fe and a Tucson. The salesman was fine no pressure and friendly. And we already told him that we were two to three months out from actually purchasing a vehicle. We we're standing outside of the dealership after taking the two vehicles for a test drive and we asked him for a brochure. He went in the building and came back out he said there was not a brochure we said that's okay we will look it up on the internet. And some black guy came out with bad teeth and said is that your car over there pointing to our old Focus that was 10 years old. Then he started in with his "I'll give you the best possible deal you can possibly get today and today only".Of course that's their high-pressure sales pitch to make a sale that day. Told them no thanks and left and went to other dealerships and took other vehicles out for test drives. We ended up buying a Toyota RAV4 out of town. read more
