Bought $89 interior detail thru Groupon. I had detail done before, this was not what I expected, it was not great. Still had many spots with dusts. They are not friendly. My experience started back in June of 2020 when I went into Car Toys to upgrade my factory speakers. I worked with Trevor who seemed knowledgeable enough at the time, and ended up purchasing four Focals (one component set and another standard set). Went home to install it and realized that Trevor gave me a smaller set of component Focals then what I had actually purchased. They were already closed for the day, so I had to leave my car disassembled in the garage overnight until I could go back and make the switch. Frustrating, but not the end of the world. After one of my buddies listened to my system he decided he wanted to upgrade his sedan. Went back to car toys and worked with Trevor again, where we purchased four new speakers, a new Kenwood head unit, cables, sub, amp, and dash kit. We made it very clear to Trevor that we wanted to maintain all factory settings from the steering wheel controls and the backup camera. He said it would be fine, until we researched everything he sold us and realized it wouldn't retain the backup camera. Returned all the cables and went to a different audio store to purchase the right ones. Our install went great and we have a great system (with a backup camera) no thanks to Trevor. In April 2020 we decided it was time to give my Focals more power with a new head unit, five channel amplifier, and a sub. I really didn't want to go back to Car Toys given the last two experiences with Trevor but Crutchfield was out of almost everything due to a COVID shortage. Having already experienced their unethical sales techniques I did all of my research ahead of time and only used Car Toys since they had everything in stock. This time I was a very informed buyer. Spoke with Trevor in person informing him I was going to purchase everything two days later, and wanted to make sure they still had it in stock. He said they were out of the Kenwood head unit but would order it from another store so I could pick it up two days later. We went over the quote and it came in $250 over what I was anticipating. I asked for a printed quote and he said that they don't do that. Came back two days later on Trevor's day off and sat with the manager for literally an hour as we went through the quote line by line on the computer. This was in between the manager helping other customers since they were so short staffed. I found out that Trevor added a $250 extended warranty without my permission and the wrong wiring harness for my car. I made the manager price match everything from Crutchfield and brought the quote down almost $400 (thankfully I was paying attention). He went to get everything from the back room and realized Trevor never ordered the stereo. I ended up driving all the way to Littleton to pick it up from the store he should have ordered it from two days prior. Went to install everything and found the dash kit wouldn't fit the new stereo as it sat an entire inch behind the opening. Went back to Car Toys and Trevor said, "oh that's just the way it is." I asked if a better bracket existed and he said "Nope. Subaru's will always have the radio recessed into the dash." Did a little more research and found that is a common problem with those brackets. Ordered a new bracket off Crutchfield (who finally had it in stock) and it fit perfectly. The radio is flush with the bracket and looks amazing. One side note: we ran into an issue during the install on this car and called car toys for some advice. We were told we had to schedule a consult with a tech for $100 an hour. They weren't even willing to answer two questions even though I purchased LITERALLY EVERYTHING from them. We did some troubleshooting and had everything working in a few hours, again no thanks to Car Toys. I can only imagine the kind of experience we would have had if I let their ignorant technicians touch my car. Definitely won't be going back for the next project. read more

I have frequented this location many times and never had issues until a horrible communication issue. Do not tell customers you'd need a day to do the job and finish up the next morning then when you're working on the car say you actually need it two entire days because the customer brought the car in an hour late which made the install tech work on other cars day 1 instead. I live far I made it clear I'd have it around opening time and to have a tech work on other cars that day and not touch mine then try and say they said they needed it 2 full days from the beginning without ever communicating that. Sorry doesn't work for me. You can't lie keep a car idle all day not tell the customer and then say instead you needed the car two full days all along. It isn't like I'm getting multiple things installed. It's plexiglass with one single hole through a board. Yes I realize there is an art to this but don't lie to customers and tell them a day plus a couple hours the next morning and come to find out after 24 hours they hadn't really done anything. Horrible customer service and he's the manager. I will never go to this location again. read more

I took my girlfriend's 2010 f150 in for a remote start installation for her birthday. They told me to expect it back within 5-7 hours and popped it out within 4. Waste of time. Made an appointment a few days before, was told to drop vehicle off at 10am and it would be ready by the afternoon. The morning of, I arrived a little before 10am, there was a line of 6+ customers standing outside the entrance. I could see 5 employees directly inside doing nothing, but definitely not opening the doors for their customers until EXACTLY 10am. They obviously don't care about their customers - super unprofessional. Waited all day to hear from them, never got a call. I finally called them late afternoon to see if I could pick up my vehicle- was put on hold 15 min. Guy finally comes back to the phone and says "we haven't even started on it yet." Seriously? Had to go without a vehicle all day for nothing, odds are they weren't even gonna get it done. I picked my vehicle up immediately and will take it somewhere else. I get it if you're a walk-in, that it can take all day to squeeze you in, but I had an appointment. These guys don't care. Go somewhere that values their customers. read more

My daughter got me a Groupon for a car detailing. I spilled some juice down the side of one of the seats, and when I brought it and I told the gentleman that. They did such a horrible job oh, I am so disappointed this is the second time I've been there and I thought things might be better now. I called them and told him I was not satisfied. It look like I just paid for a car wash and vacuum inside. They did no detailing whatsoever. I'm so dissatisfied I would like them to refund my daughter the Groupon money. Trying to get a new head unit and some bass for my 97 Land Rover Disco. First guy I talked to seemed interested, brought me to the "mid grade" head units, and then bailed without giving me any information on how to test the head units, what would work best for my price range/application, nothing. So I picked out a headunit on my own and went to the counter to talk to another guy. He was slightly more helpful, giving me a quote for a "12 inch Alpine party pack" plus install of the headunit and all that. Total estimate came out to $791. I asked for a printed out estimate and he told me their computers don't let them do that, so he wrote the price down on the back of a business card, as well as "12" alpine party pack" First off, why would I drop $800 on a head unit and sub without knowing anything about the products they're selling me? No model number for the sub, no info about the headunit. They didn't play the sub or headunit for me, how am I supposed to know that's what I want? Maybe I want a pricier sub than the alpine, which leads to my second issue. The entire time I was there I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously. They were going cheap as possible without taking a second to ask me what price range I'm looking for. What the hell is an alpine party pack? Does that include an amp? What kind of amp? What are the specs of the sub? This is stuff I shouldn't have to ask for. Previous times I've been to car toys (other locations) they've been very helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough. Literally just got my truck back for a simple replacement of an existing radio (same manufacturer extremely similar model and style). First they told me (last night) that it came with a remote (needed for the DVD player). Surprise no remote. Second they told me it would take 45 minutes to install. Arrived this morning and took two hours as they had to wait for it from another store. During my wait the called to sell me additional deals (like cracked window repair). The whole business is based on markups and addons. Finally after I get it back find that the face plate is broken and won't lock down. I've thought about going back to the store to deal with but I'm sure I'm going to get the same run around as other people here. I truly wish I'd read these reviews first. I went in to get a quote for my stereo and subwoofer install. They say that the install price is $125 but then they add on the additional parts needed to install it. I was expecting $300-400 at the most. They came back with a price or $808! I told them that was a little too much for me and then they asked if I wanted to open a line of credit to pay for it! I then asked how much it would be for just the radio install and they said $500. I go to Best Buy for all my installs needs now. Best Buy quoted the same install at $500 including parts and labor. (Stereo, amp, and subwoofer install) I feel sorry for the people who are being ripped off by Car Toys. read more

Went in and ask about buying an amp and having it installed in my daughters first car. Ask person in the store if the amp was 250 RMS power to push a 12 inch sub i gave her from one of my stereo systems. Paid $600 for amp and install to find out that amp is only 250 peak watts and 100 RMS power. Does not even push sub at all. Then found where the cracked her plastic panel in back of her car. Crack is about 6 to 8 inches long. She gets car home and I look through it and tons of scratches on plastic up front by head unit. They scratched the exterior paint some how. So I paid for an amp that is really under rated, broken plastic panel and access door, scratches on exterior paint. Hope those guys are proud. This location is the one on Bowles Ave in Littleton CO. The car was a buick encore. I will use PDA road gear or best buy next time to get a professional install. read more

Few days after posting thr previous review, the CarToys Social Media representative contacted me via email and assured one of the Region Managers will get in touch with me regarding my experience (this was back in June). Unfortunately I never heard back from the regional manager since then - guess they do not care about business or reputation. I took my vehicle to a competitor (Audio Express/Quality Auto Sound) and got my audio system upgraded with new Pioneer model w/aux and iPod connectors. Way better service than CarToys. read more

Bought a used car recently and my stereo was having some trouble... In my mind, I only had a couple of choices - pay the dealer to fix it, pay Car Toys to fix it or do the work myself. Since the DIY projects always take longer (and cost more) than I expect - I decided to try the pros. We got off to a bumpy start when they told me that some of the plastic housing had broken during the installation. Before work began, they had me sign a notice alerting me to this possibility (plastic gets brittle through constant temperature changes). I was pleasantly surprised when the Install Team Manager (Dino) agreed to help me find a solution, and his technician (Brian) squeezed me in on a very busy day to finish off the project. These two were very patient with my questions and willing to work around my schedule to get things done right. BOTTOM LINE: Accidents and trouble pop up from time-to-time, though they may not be anyone's fault per se. It was nice to see there are still people out there who believe their reputation matters. I went to this car toys store and had a PA15-HON2 interface installed into my 2009 Honda accord. The interface connects to the existing factory radio and allows iPod navigation using both radio and steering wheel controls. When I fully got to test it the next day I found my xm radio would no longer work and that iPod navigation only worked with playlist. For album and artist navigation it would select artist or albums at random. I tested this with both an iPod classic 5th and 4th generation using the latest IOS for each one with the same results. Per manufacture manual several dip switches on the device had to be set for 1 of 3 modes of possible modes of use. Car Toys informed me that the device was preset by the manufacture, so should work. This immediately indicated they had no real knowledge of this device which they sell! They also had no explanation for why it did not work. I requested a refund and deinstallation which they did but, at expense of about 6 hours of my time! I will never buy any service or products from Car Toys again. If you do, better hope every works because if they do not, Car Toys will most likely not know how to fix it. read more

I purchased a Groupon for "exterior detailing package with rim and tire cleaning". Called Car Toys for an appointment on Friday and they said to bring it in at 9:00 Monday morning. We got there and the desk guy said they had no record of our reservation so we just left the car there for a Tuesday pickup. Picked it up and were immediately displeased. After cleaning the car they left it out in the rain and it was covered with dirt and water spots. Noticed they did not even clean the wheels! When I complained they said the Groupon was only for a basic wash and wax. I could have done a better job for nothing. I'll never go there again. read more

I purchased a remote start online through car toys and was told it would have free installation with it. When I got there they checked me in and one of the techs was behind the guy checking me in and he got told it was going to be his car and started saying "no it's not. I'm not doing it. Why is it my car. Who assigned it to me. Change that I don't want to do that car." That was a great first impression. After that around 2:30 I hadn't heard anything so I called to check in and they gave me the status on someone else's vehicle and when I told them I was a different one he just automatically went "oh they are working on it now. It'll be done by 5" then I got a call 20 minutes later saying my car was done. When I picked it up they then charged me $128 I was just done with them so I payed it. Later that night I tried the remote start and it would stay on for about 20 seconds then stop and start again and it would do this a few times before stopping completely. Then I found out my wire to pop open my gas tank inside my car wasn't reconnected. I am very dissatisfied with my visit. read more

Took one of my 3, F350 crew cab trucks in here to simply have the doorlock actuators replaced as the factory ones quit working after 12 years. They said oh yes we have those in stock and we can do it for you. Four years later two of the actuators quit working so I decided not even to go back to car toys but to go to the dealership to have factory ones put back in because I want them to last longer than the cheap Chinese garbage that Car Toys sells. When the Ford dealership opened up my door they brought me back to the service bay and pointed out the butchering and hack install that was done by the monkeys at Car Toys on my door locks. They did not use factory doorlock actuator's. Instead they butchered the inside of my door to allow the use of their aftermarket doorlock actuator's. They cut things and destroyed things that are needed to replace the door lock actuators with factory ones. My doors will never be able to be returned to factory ever again because of these butcher idiots. I called Car Toys and talked to the manager about this. His explanation was "oh we thought we would have told you that we were going to modify them to use aftermarket actuators". No moron, if you would've told me that I would've told you to piss off and not touch my truck. That's stupid. He said he would fix my door lock actuators for free so I took the truck back there and had them replace two of the cheap Chinese actuators with two more cheap Chinese actuators. Now I'm giving them another 2 to 3 years before they fail again and I'm going to have to do some major restoration work on the inside of my doors. I will have to replace the lock rods that the idiots cut, and some of the wiring as they cut the pigtails off the ends of my wires to wire their factory actuators in place. TOTAL BUTCHERS With no common sense whatsoever. read more

Being unable to work my current iPhone 5 with the new software on a deck that was previously purchased from Car Toys I came in very confused. Having not known what the actual problem was and thinking that I knew what was wrong I attempted to create a solution for the 'unworking AppMode'. Needless to say I had no idea what I was talking about. The Store Manager took control of my situation and explained what was needed to make it all work. The entire store jumped in and treated it as a sort of training opportunity to instruct not only myself but others on what is needed to make Pioneer's disaster system of cables and adapters work and function as intended. My problem was solved, my radio works GREAT and Car Toys earns big props in solving the unsolvable. Have a problem with your Prioneer Radio and your smartphone working properly? I hate giving bad reviews, but this was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. We began on 6/16. We had our CarPlay taken out of our old car to be installed on our new car. They needed to order the dash kit, and asked if we wanted 2 day shipping for $35. We decided yes, since we wanted the system ready for a trip on 6/27. We were told the 2 day shipping could take "UP TO" 4 days due to Covid, which was understandable. However, on 6/23 I called to see if it was in yet. I was told "Not yet, it should be in the shipment tomorrow". I had not heard anything by 6/25, so I called again. I was told they "probably" had not scanned it in yet, but it should be in the shop. We were already a little upset as we realized it would not be ready for our trip. After I did not hear anything for several days, I called on 6/30 for an update. They seemed confused and said it had not arrived yet and they would contact the manufacturer. I called again on 7/2 and spoke with someone else who said the same thing. This time, I stayed on the line while they sent the email. Still nothing (seem like a trend?). On 7/7, I called again, it was at this point they said "Oh, I'm sorry I thought I called you", and told me the item was on back order. I'm an understanding person and I get that this happens, but how does it take 2 FULL WEEKS to tell me? Especially when I PAID for 2 day shipping, AND they told me it was on the way or "should be" at their location. After 3 more weeks (all of July) of calling twice a week, I gave up... Keep in mind that at this point, I still had NEVER been contacted by them. In the first full week of August, I got my first call from them! They said the item was still on back order with no updates. On 8/20, they contacted me again and the part was in! Yay! So we took it in on 8/21. When we picked it up the next day they handed us the keys without checking with us to make sure it was done correctly. We had several errands to run, so we got in and left. Then we noticed the Apple cord was just hanging out of the glovebox (we thought that was very strange...). Then we found the plugin for the CarPlay was loosely thrown into the glovebox! I called them and asked about it (I just assumed that they forgot to install it). I was told that is how they do the plugins. I asked about it because the car we had it in before had the plugin installed. They said they do that when we tell them we do not want it installed. So I said I did want it installed and asked why no one bothered to offer it. They said they typically ask but they must have "forgot" to ask me. So we scheduled a time the following week for it to be "fixed". That night we realized the dimmer was not working. After some trial and error we got the dimmer to work, just not the auto dim. So we took it off the "auto" setting and put it on "always dim". We could not make it to the appointment, so we rescheduled for 9/4. When we rescheduled, I asked them about the dimmer and they said they would look at it. A few hours after we dropped off the car, I got the call that the USB port was installed and the dimmer was working. When we arrived, the tech told me the port was installed and he "turned the auto-dim" setting on. I was instantly worried because of the issues we had this whole time... and I was right, the dimmer was NOT fixed. I think they "assumed" that we were just dumb and did not even try to turn it on! I went back and told them it was still not working and they took it back inside. They said it would be a few minutes, but after 45 minutes they told me that the tech was still "on hold" to talk to tech support. The next day they told me they were unable to fix the issue; they gave up. I was told the module did not work and that was it; the tech said it was "unfortunate" but that they were done. I am appalled by this company's lack of communication and work ethic. As icing on the cake, I paid full price for everything; they did not offer anything for a process that took nearly 3 months (with less than minimum communication) and still is not even working properly. read more

I have a F150 that my receiver shorted out and died. I called car Toys and got advice when to stop by. The next day I went there and, as I haven't checked out sound systems in 20 years l talked with a installer Steven for an hour (sorry Steven ). He and others took time to explain the differences in systems and demo what I was interested in. Buy 4:00 I had a great looking and sounding system. When I picked it up they came out and set it up the way I wanted it, even pared my phone to it. Best service and great work. These guys enjoy what they do. read more

Bought a car stereo with an amp. Was told there was free installation. Turns out it's free installation for the stereo but not the amp. Amp cost me $160 to install. Afterwards they asked me for an additional $25 for some mounting bracket. They cut the harness from my old stereo so not that one is useless and placed my USB where I asked it not to be installed. The actual work was fine. I had some stereo equipment installed in my truck. I dropped it off for a whole day, and when I picked it up, several items were missing including my sunglasses. Brought my 2004 Mountaineer in for a stereo upgrade. While there, I noticed that they do perform detailing. Was pleased to see a high end car in the shop getting detailed. Found a Groupon discount and set up and appointment for this basic work and added a complete makeover to include eliminating a huge scratch across both doors. Was amazed what a great job Patrick W. did on the vehicle. Not only did he walk through what he was going to do and whether included or not and discussed price, but also went through everything upon completion. Several friends were amazed to the point that it looked brand new! Highly recommend Patrick to be your go to guy for detailing. He'll be on my annual visit schedule! read more

To be honest with you I should have learned the 1st time. Parker store was an absolute joke. But took a friends referral to park meadows location and let me tell you, not much better! I asked them before I purchased and told them of all the problems and they assured me that would not happen and that things would be great. They have had my F150 for a total of 23 hours when they promised me two hours on Friday 11/25 1st Time I tried to pick up, the USB port for apple play was glued crooked, they kept saying it's going to take two to three hours to repair, as if to talk me out of fixing. I still left it with them and It was fixed and I picked it up. While driving home the speakers turn on and off could not open cup holder due to a RCA hanging down into it ( hanging from the radio above it) and the screen was warning of improper ground to parking break. I called them they said two busy to get in the next day to come back Monday. I questioned that was not very good customer service and they agreed and I brought back 11am Saturday the next day. Bye then I noticed one of the speakers didn't even work. They had it until Monday 11/28. Now I have found they cut the carpet in plain view and I can see one of my RCA's thru the slice in carpet.
