At first I was concerned about this place because of the reviews. Still went with an open mind and was not disappointed. Had an amazing experience with my family. 10/10 coming back. If I HAD to nitpick in something it would be the skates you are handed. They are without a doubt beaten down but if you just adapt to them you'll have a great time. Maybe I'm an old head but I personally think All the bad reviews are from kids. Not too expensive nor was anybody rude to any of us.

    October 2023. Hours and prices.

Adding this update because without any website or social media presence it's always annoying to not be able to look up the hours or prices. I do visit most rinks in the city and this one is okay just a little outdated but overall not too overcrowded so if you want to practice this is a good spot.

Well the place is clean that's about the only good thing going for it the owner is rude for starters and the fact that non skaters have to pay a spectators fee is ridiculous. The owner will probably comment below how this is a business and she has to make money listen i get but full price for ppl that have to go have there child wants to skate is crazy maybe a $5 parent fee like other rinks is reasonable but i payed 15 for my mother that i take care of just to come in the building cause i wanted to take my daughter . She also had signs up that do not reflect what she charges then tells me i should call the voicemail it's more up to date ok so then take down the signs it's bad busin Honestly you're better off going to AR entertainment for 25$ all inclusive. Also i wouldn't have paid or stayed but we were meeting ppl here so so be it but definitely if you can travel just do she doesn't deserve hard working ppls money if she can't be at least nice as a owner.

It's $250 for a basic party package which includes a t shirt for the birthday person, two pitchers of soda, little small ice cream cups with a wooden spoon, and 10 skaters. Each pizza is $17, this is fine since they don't control pizza prizes. But each additional skater is $20. The price to get in is $11 and skates are $5. Where does the $20 come from? Extra 5 for the ice cream cup? Even with all of that my total should have been $381 but it was $438. For fees? Taxes, I guess? I felt terrible that I couldn't tip the woman helping us (even thought two separate guests told me she was rude) but I BLEW my budget and felt blindsided by the price.

It was beautiful to see. I unfortunately cannot skate at the moment, but I really had a good time watching and listening to the music. They do have a spot for small snack, but I wish it was a little bit more expansive. Additionally, they do have a security officer at the entrance, which I think it's really good. And lastly, the prices weren't too bad when it came to rentals and paying the fee. By the way, you do have to pay even if you're not skating. They also have a pool table so if you are considering playing, make sure you bring your quarters. I noticed the parking lot gets really full so try to get there ahead of time. Their customer service gets a five out of five from me.

My son's joint birthday party on May 30, 2026 was fun for the kids, and that's almost entirely…read morethanks to our party host, Aidan. He was engaging, helpful, and kept the energy up throughout the night. The food was good, the skating was fun, and the boys had a blast. However, there are serious management issues at this rink that potential customers need to know about. First, we were double charged. I paid a $200 deposit online, then paid the remaining balance of $422.18 at the rink on the night of the party, May 30th. An hour later, I received an email charging me another $395.38. The rink told me they switched credit card vendors but their system is still processing charges through the old vendor -- meaning your card information is being charged twice. When I went back on May 31st to complain about being double charged, I was told to dispute it with my bank -- meaning I'm out the money for ten business days while my bank sorts it out, because the skating rink isn't issuing a simple refund. It was only during that conversation that I was asked if I had received my skate passes -- which I had not. This is unacceptable, especially for families who might not have that cushion. Do not book with a credit card online until you confirm this is fixed. Second, the party package advertised glow bracelets and necklaces for every child. We didn't receive them, and as compensation we were offered free extra pitchers of soda instead. Fortunately we brought our own glow accessories for the kids, but other families might not come prepared. That's not acceptable when you're spending over $600. Third, the party package lists skate mates at $10.00 -- but what they don't tell you is that's $10 per hour. For a 3-hour party, that's $30 per skate mate per person. If you have kids or family members who can't skate and need one, this adds up fast and is not clearly disclosed. The listing is misleading. Finally, our party host Aidan was working alone on a Saturday night as the party host, DJ, game coordinator, and server. He managed so much on his own that night -- the fact that anything slipped through the cracks is entirely a management failure, not his. Aidan deserves a raise. If you book here, go in with eyes open about the billing issues and missing items. Aidan will take care of you -- management won't.

I appreciate any form of entertainment that in a serious way doesn't take itself seriously. And in…read morea roundabout way basks in its own campiness. I must admit I'm a latecomer to the whole roller derby sport(It is a sport by the way). My point of reference has always been the Raquel Welch film, " Kansas City Bombers" of yesterday. The perception by it that the roller girl is eye candy first and athlete thereafter is how most of us (mainly men)have been informed. But entertainment changes with the mores of any given generation. So now the fingerless gloves, decorated helmets, kneepads, skates that spit fire, the catchy as hell names: "Meri-Death", "Violet Protest" "Sock er' Mom" take on a much bigger significance. Girl Power is in full bloom here. And these ladies kick a$$ then take names. Which makes it all the more powerful. When a derby girl falls to the floor, you feel its impact. A quick overview of what to expect: There is parking away from the sports complex. Which means you will be walking in the dark after the event. I suggest you pay the $5 fee to park closer. It's also cheaper to buy tickets online. In addition they host events to promote their games at various local breweries; a perfect opportunity to buy tickets on the cheap. Otherwise it's $13 bucks at the door, well worth the price. As for seating you can choose any spot on a bleacher. The only thing is that the two periods stretch and after awhile you will feel it on your bum. As an ACRG newbie I didn't quite know what to expect. I also wondered why some people weren't sitting up front. Big Mistake. At any given moment a derby girl might fly right into your lap, leaving me at the edge of my seat the whole time. Girls zip by you. Smashing. Crashing. Colliding. Elbowing. Punctuated by more physical contact. Make no bones about it these ladies are ready to risk certain injury to entertain but above all to win. If in reading this you do not know what the object of the game is don't worry neither do I. By the second half you will understand it better. And as you see derby girls dashing through lanes there is a "heart" peeking out, a sense of community. For example I saw a girl with her mom in a makeshift derby outfit. I could sense that she was fan-girling throughout the game. At half time they made her an honorary team member, handing her a specially created shirt. You can tell it made her night. When she becomes a derby girl I'm sure she'll remember that gesture. The Alamo City Roller Girls is campy, good fun. The elbows are delivered with a "Kapow!" And the crowd does a mini wave as a jammer parts a moshpit of skaters. If you're looking for an experience somewhere between a Joan Jett's concert and a Texas Death Match this will be for you. Just mind your nachos if you choose to sit up front.

One of the most frustrating birthday party experiences I've had…read more We booked a birthday party at Skateland East and spent a substantial amount of money on the kids. This wasn't a case of people trying to avoid buying food or drinks from the venue. The adults in our group stopped for coffee on the way because several of us have dietary restrictions and don't consume the sugary drinks typically found at concession stands. Before bringing the coffees inside, someone in our party specifically asked an employee if it would be okay, and we were told it wasn't a problem since we had booked a party and were spending money there. The birthday cake was also accepted by the staff and placed in their refrigerator. Then the shift changed. A manager came over and completely reversed everything we had already been told. Suddenly the coffees weren't allowed, and we were informed we couldn't have the birthday cake unless we spent an additional $60. The issue wasn't the money... it was the complete lack of consistency and the dismissive, confrontational attitude. A simple conversation or an acknowledgment that another employee had approved it would have gone a long way. Instead, the interaction felt like a power trip rather than an attempt to provide good customer service. The rest of the experience only reinforced that impression. The entire facility feels stuck decades in the past. The concession stand is cash only. The arcade games are coin operated. Even the lockers require cash. This isn't about being cheap--it's about convenience. In 2026, most families don't carry cash or rolls of quarters to a birthday party. If processing fees are the concern, build them into the prices or offer a discounted cash price. Requiring cash for nearly everything is simply outdated. To make matters worse, the concession stand offers virtually no diet or sugar-free beverage options while strictly enforcing a no outside food or drink policy. If guests aren't allowed to bring in alternatives, there should at least be reasonable options available for people with dietary restrictions. The rink also only offers traditional roller skates. If you were hoping to rollerblade, that isn't an option. One of the strangest aspects of the facility is the restroom layout. The sinks are located outside the restroom area and around the corner from the toilets. I watched numerous children leave the restroom and head straight back to skating without washing their hands because the sinks weren't part of the natural exit path. It's an odd design that doesn't encourage basic hygiene. The "No Outside Food or Drinks" policy is also posted behind heavily tinted glass near the entrance, making it easy to overlook. What should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into an experience we'll remember for all the wrong reasons. Because of the way this situation was handled, not because of the cost, our family of seven and our friends' family of six have decided we won't be returning. We'll also be sharing our experiences through our own reviews. Losing thirteen customers... and the birthday parties, concessions, and future visits that come with them... over an avoidable customer service interaction is unfortunate, but that's the decision the manager's attitude ultimately led us to make.
