The ice cream was such a success that the company now has multiple locations. Michel named the business after his daughter, Melody. Sweet Melody makes all of its ice cream from scratch, as well as any baked goods and toppings that go into it. They don't use any artificial colors or flavors. The 16 percent butterfat ice cream is made without egg yolks and can be described as having a rich, dense texture. An egg-yolk French base is used for flavors like crème brûlée, key lime pie, and brownie batter. I first enjoyed Sweet Melody ice cream at Dessert Wars and followed them through their Miami locations at the Citadel in Little River, Kendall, and Coral Gables. I am so happy that they have finally made it to Broward. You can find them in Flagler Village at The Hive, where they will have limited-edition collaborations with neighbors Heritage, Wells Coffee, Cookie Head, and LoveLee Bakeshop. The latest incarnation of Sweet Melody takes its inspiration from a 1960's rec room. Vinyl records decorate the walls, and the colors harken back to that groovy era. They offer 12 classic flavors and four rotating seasonal flavors. Some of the flavors they were offering when i visited include Ecuadorian Chocolate, Strawberry Fields Whenever, Kooki Monster, Cookie Buttah, Bourbon Pecan, 7th Inning Stretch, Twisted Sista, and Banana Pudding.
