The building has everything you need---amazing rooftop views, state of the art fitness center, kick a** doormen that are *always* willing to help out with anything. I wasn't anticipating, as a first time home buyer, that the process would be so seamless, but I thank the amazing team at Kopley Group (from the sales team to the contractors/designers) for being so responsive with questions and requests. I feel like the cool kid in class now amongst my friends, because I'm proud to bring my friends over to entertain; and its located 2 blocks from the el, close to Roscoe Villiage, and row of bars & restaurants along Lincoln Ave. And as Guy mentioned below, neighbors are awesome, and have, probably, the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen. The professionalism, congeniality and joie de vie of the sales and design staff was pinnacle to closing a solid real estate deal. The feel of the place had us at hello. As we meandered through the unique spaces we were enamored by the look, the feel, the sense of community. There is a genuine sense of home from throughout the private residences and common spaces. The concept pulled in "like and like" as the owners at 1800 represent genuine, unique and compassionate. It is so amazing to share skyline lit, roof top wedding and birthday celebrations, holiday open loft spaces, a friendly hello on an early Saturday morning and a "concierge" staff that serves with delight. For real. We saw "loft" spaces all over the city (due diligence) and were continually pulled back. From selections that satisfied the smallest details to service and financing we were completely served. We worked alongside of friendly faces who guided us all along the way. They genuinely got to know us. The Kopley team led by Stefanos Karavolos is built on honesty, integrity and passion. These core tenets thrive in the residences that are created. Laughter, fun and well serving our interests were included in the deal. This was a signature build out-- our signature-- the team was invested in how we created a home that represents who we are and what matters most to us.

However, this is a pretty good building to live in in my opinion, especially for the price and the area. You're literally in the heart of everything and all the other trendy neighborhoods are a 15-20 min walk (like Gold Coast) or a short uber drive (like West Loop.) I love that I'm walking distance to 4 grocery stores (like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Jewels) and other services I need like waxing places and nail places. There's also endless restaurants around the area. The building also has a pool, sauna, steam room, weight room, a cardio room complete with lockers and showers. The upkeep of the hallways is good (even though the hall walls are a hideous yellow) and there's always someone cleaning the hallway carpets weekly. The lobby is nice and well put together. The doormen are really good. Like someone else said, they know a lot of the residents so the automatically open the doors for you whenever you walk in. They've also been super helpful with attending to any guests, deliveries, and package mix ups we've had. I also really like the new system of automated texts when your package arrives. I also like that the management changed the sign in the back of the building when you walk into the lobby. That shows me they're actively working to improve things around the building. That being said, there are some problems with this building. When we were looking at this place, I hated the huge TVs with the ads in the lobby and I still do. They seriously need to get rid of the ads and use that area as an announcements area for residents. It's literally such an eye sore with those ads. Also, the management like other people have said isn't that helpful. Talking to them about any question is like pulling teeth. I haven't had to deal with them that much so it hasn't been a huge issue. In terms of the parking garage, it's definitely not ideally set up. The parking spaces are huge so its super easy to park, but when you're going around the corners, you can't see and could easily crash into another car. However, there's barely anyone else using their car whenever I drive out, so it hasn't been a huge issue either. Lastly, the management sends us these random update emails that just confuse us, such as updates with the pool. Not really sure what's going on there, but it's not the worst thing in the world.

So like any condo building the unit will vary based on what the owner has done. The area was great and it seemed like you could easily get a one bedroom for about $1400 which is not bad. They have a pretty nice gym and a big pool which is all included. The building is pretty old and it has the typical rectangle layout so common to the area. Not a bad deal and it seemed to have some good residents. Closet space was great and I know there is a storage unit with every condo also.

While we enjoyed our city life, we decided to move to 500 N Lake Shore Drive after viewing 10 other options. Boy, are we glad we made the decision we did. 500 N Lake Shore Drive (517 N Peshtigo Ct to ride-sharing drivers) is an awesome place to live. (A recent Plains State visitor, after a summer weekend here, said "You guys live in a resort!") Some days, it feels that way. The building is owned and managed by The Related Company. Related builds, leases out, and manages their own buildings. Such complete vertical integration results in a wonderful rental experience. Property Management, Concierges, and Maintenance all work together on a daily basis (including daily staff meetings among all of them) to help ensure that residents have a quality daily living experience. The amenities are all here - pool and pool deck with 6 grills (kept spotless by staff if a resident fails to clean up after their use), spa, huge Equinox Gym (also owned by Related), Common Area featuring fireplaces, pool table, and work/study areas, business center, special event rental rooms, dedicated dog wash, and Amazon Package pick-up lockers for secure package delivery. 500 N LSD has got it all. The staff - as a group - are bend-over-backwards accommodating and friendly. They pay attention to detail and are always willing to do the little things to make living here an exceptional experience. Resident parking attached to the building is operated by LAZ Parking, and have been easy to work with. We've been here for almost a year, and are thrilled we made the move we did. Unqualifiedly recommended!

He was rude and dismissive from the moment I arrived, and made me feel discriminated against because of my appearance and accent. No one should be treated this way--especially in a place that claims to uphold respect and professionalism. I truly hope management addresses this kind of behavior so that all guests and residents are treated with the dignity they deserve.

I wanted to take a…read moremoment to post an update to shine a light on the exemplary property manager, Craig Perry, who oversees this building with kindness and empathy - all within the parameters of the utmost professionalism. Craig runs a tight ship in the best way. He GENUINELY cares about residents' concerns and wastes no time in addressing them and arriving at a solution. As I mentioned in my previous review, I've lived in several rental communities in downtown Chicago - and have worked with a few outstanding property managers, but Craig is head and shoulders above the rest, which is an absolute necessity for a positive living experience. Hands down. Special shout out to Steve Sink (Dir of Leasing) for always taking the time to catch up when we cross paths - another kind human, and consummate professional. And, finally, to the incredible door staff - looking at you, in particular, Mike and Senait, the weekday morning crew; and to the maintenance team - always smiling and friendly, and at the ready to help. I realize this update is primarily about the day-to-day operations team at Aqua, rather than the building itself, which I've already addressed below. I just feel that in a sea of pretty similar rental options downtown, it's the people you interact with on a regular basis who truly make your living experience enjoyable. And this team led by Craig, well, I've yet to experience its equal.

We chose this building in part because of the advertised amenities, but our experience with them…read morehas been consistently disappointing, as has the level of responsiveness from the management office. * Sauna: To our knowledge, the sauna has been out of service since we moved in. It was working when we toured, but we have not seen it operational at any point since becoming residents. * Hot tub cleanliness: On February 28, 2026, when we turned on the hot tub jets, a grimy black film resembling dirt began accumulating in the water. I took photos that night (see attached). This raised serious concerns about maintenance and cleanliness. * Swimming lessons representation and lack of response: During our tour in November 2025, a leasing staff member told us that free swimming lessons were offered to renters, and we confirmed this multiple times because it mattered to us. After moving in, an onsite swimming instructor told us that, to his understanding, there are no free lessons. When we mentioned we had been told the lessons were free and asked whether he had heard similar questions from other residents, he told us yes. We emailed management on February 19, 2026 asking how to enroll or to clarify whether free lessons are offered, and as of March 1, 2026, we have not received any response. In other replies to reviews that complained about amenities, the rental office has said the hotel manages the amenities. But these amenities are still advertised as part of the residential experience, and from a resident perspective the distinction doesn't change the outcome--we relied on what was represented when deciding where to live. If these issues are resolved or clarified, I will update this review. For now, prospective residents should independently verify the current status and availability of any amenities that are important to them.

To address what Jennifer Z said, it is 100% written into our lease that you can't have an Airbnb. Writing it and enforcing it are 2 very different things and a good negotiator (or a company like Envitae) can get it exempt. Sienna needs to do the right thing here and be transparent. If you allow Airbnb then fine, but I believe you are required to notify all the tenants. Since my last post we have had a police incident, several loud late night parties, several people with luggage not knowing how to figure out the keyless entry, and the list goes on. I attached a photo from a current apartment at Sienna listed on vrbo. Anyone who lives at Sienna will recognize it.

That means fewer people at the elevators, a less crowded package room, and much more familiarity with the management staff. I work non-traditional hours, and I've always felt same coming and going from the building despite the lack of a doorman because of the video security system at the main door. Natalie, the property manager, is very helpful and super responsive to any concerns I've had with my unit. She is also diligent about sending out notices and news for the building. I've never had a "surprise" maintenance visit while living in Sienna. To address what a previous reviewer wrote - the building absolutely does NOT allow AirBnB. It's written into our lease very specifically that this is not allowed. Enforcement may have been lax with the previous management group, but I believe that Fulton Grace was diligent in enforcing this when they took over managing the building in Jan 2019.

I have attached the photos they provided as "evidence". You can judge for yourself whether this justifies full replacement. Over multiple email exchanges, management could not describe the specific damage in writing, could not provide documentation proving the blinds were custom, and when I requested an invoice, admitted they did not have one, meaning I was charged before the replacement was even completed or documented. Draw your own conclusions about how this management company operates. And if you really have to live here, document everything before you move out, photograph every inch of your unit, and know your rights under the Chicago RLTO before signing anything here. p/s: What makes this worse is that none of this came after any prior notice or conversation. Their very first communication after my move-out immediately threatened collections and credit bureau reporting if I did not pay within 30 days. Whether this is intentional or simply a failure in their notification system, I don't know. Either way, tenants are blindsided with a payment deadline and a collections threat before they even know a balance exists.

The management/leasing office changed in 2024, and after that, it seemed as though the facilities and package room became run down and disorganized. They also increased my rent 13% last year, and essentially forced me out. I was sad to go, but many of my friends and neighbors left for the same reason. When I asked what the increased rent was going towards, they told me they were hoping to "sand down some of the outside tables." I was hoping for a better answer than that, such as new gym equipment or upgraded washers and dryers in the units. Over the last two years, the building has also increased the amount of short term rentals in the building. They claim they do background checks on all the renters, but it definitely made my neighbors and I feel more unsafe. There was a rental unit on our floor and there were always strangers around. I was happy to leave the building, but I was truly sad to leave the front desk staff!!!
