Just about everything you would expect in an "All-inclusive" resort. If you see the Divi website…read moreyou would expect a very different resort from reality. Starting with food - no salad bar, no carving station, minimal hot food options, limited desserts, if there are any available at all. Nope. 1 over cooked vegetable, dried out meat, cold fried chicken. once desserts are gone there is no replenishment. NO afternoon meal at the buffet, you can only eat at the outside bar which offers a limited variety of fried food. They ran out of cheese so 1/2 the food was not available. The beach was not accessable due to the quantity of sargassum washing up which we were told was being cleaned daily.. But on arrive we were told that it is not being cleaned. it is 3-4 feet deep in places. Room - housekeeping consists of changing towels only. No bed making, no floor cleaning. There were french fries on the stairs for 24 house before they were removed. Dishes outside rooms for 12+ hours. Most people I spoke with here are extremely dissapointed. A few couples went so far as to demand a full refund and moved to another hotel. All in all I would suggest that a person read reviews and not depend on past experiences at other Divi locations OR the Divi website. Of all the "All-Inclusives" I have tried, this is the example of what a person should not expect.

Hours at the restaurants were limited, but we expected this. Food at the buffet was amazingly good for service designed for a crowd. The choices were well-made and flavorful. The day-day variety was good. Some items we might have wished for were missing, but not objectionable in my mind. Desserts were fresh and varied.

My wife, Andi Jennings, and I took a full-day trip on the "Big Beard Adventure" on Saturday 9/5/26…read morewith Captain Peter first mate Jackie, and second mate (first mate in training) Sienna. It was a terrific day in so many ways. The catamaran is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It was very stable on the water and there was plenty of room for all of us. We had 18 people on our trip, but it could have easily handled 30. The boat has two ladders in the back so getting in and out of the water was relatively easy. We made three stops, the first being Turtle Beach, on the leeward side of Buck Island. They do this stop first to give everyone some beach time (it is a gorgeous beach), and also to allow everyone to practice our snorkeling in a more protected and supervised environment. This also allows the crew to determine who might need extra help during the reef part of the tour. The second stop is on the windward side of Buck island, where the reef is. My wife grew up here in St. Croix, but I had never been to Buck Island National Monument. It was nothing short of spectacular. I have never seen anything like it. The reef was teeming with beautiful fish and the reef itself is like an underwater mountain range that you are flying over. Simply amazing. Those that needed help to navigate the reef were given the assistance they needed. We had two non-swimmers on board and yet they were able to safely enjoy most of the experience. Sienna led the way for the experienced snorkelers while Jackie hung back to help folks that needed more guidance. Once we were all safely back on board, they started serving "Mutiny Punch"(fruity vodka drink), in addition to non-alcoholic punch (water is available throughout). We then we were off to Big Beard's private beach, back on St. Croix where a neat little sheltered picnic area was situated just steps off the beach. Captain Peter started cooking hot dogs, regular burgers and veggie burgers, in addition to Mahi (the fish varies on each trip). The food attracted the local wildlife, including several friendly cats and dozens of curious mongooses. After about 90 minutes or so, we all got back on board and headed back to Christensted harbor. One of the things that really stood out was the engagement and dedication of the crew. They all love the island, love the Big Beard organization, and are super-focused on the guest experience and made the day even more enjoyable seeing them work together as a team. Thank you for a great day, Peter, Jackie and Sienna! It was a great value and a great experience. My wife & I cannot recommend this excursion more enthusiastically!

They take you out to Buck Island and show you how to properly snorkel and make sure you're comfortable and competent. That part of the tour was about an hour. As a short person, I had difficulty getting back on the boat, but staff was very helpful. They then take you out to the reef and split you into groups. The guide takes you around the reef for around 15 minutes and then you are able to explore on your own. I was initially not going to get off the boat at the reef due to my difficulty not being able to get back on when we were closer to land, but staff encouraged me to go and told me they would make sure I got on the boat no matter what. They stuck to their word.. on the way back, they made us from punch and we all had a great time. Highly recommend!!

Starting with the Bellman JB, who was superb, he even brought us wine and fruit and a card to welcome us. Our guest experience supervisor Erika was absolutely amazing. She did more for us than anyone ever has at any resort, any place we've stayed. Top notch hospitality. Too much to mention here. Harrison in the club lounge always made us feel welcome and appreciated. We had a photographer (blue glass photography) Alain Brin, he was amazing for our photo shoot. Overall a 5 star experience. We came a few days early on our own and then the ladder half of the week we were part of a large group. The hotel was obviously empty when we got there. When we checked in, they told me I had a garden view room and I had been told I would get Ocean view. When I asked if they could accommodate because I knew the hotel was fairly empty they disagreed with me and told me oh that is far from the truth. I guess they're not allowed to tell you That they are at low capacity because for the next few days we barely saw anybody there. They did give us a different room, however, there was a card in the room, made out to someone else and a plate of fruit for them too that never got moved. The room appears older, but they tried to do some modern renovations. There was still dings on the walls, scratches in the paint and older looking flooring. The towels in the room were older, not very white anymore, and very rough to the touch. My oldest towels at home are far nicer than these, again, not what you expect staying at the Ritz. We went to one of the restaurants called Coconut Grove for lunch. We ordered a jerk seasoned fish sandwich. The fish was fresh and decent, however, there was no jerk seasoning on it as described. When the waitress came over and asked how everything was, we told her and she just laughed and said she would have to have a talk with the kitchen. There was no offer of fixing it or replacing it. I did share this information with one of the food and beverage managers walking around when she asked me how my lunch was. She did make the situation right by giving us a certificate for lunch on property the next day. That was very nice of her and we did appreciate that. The next day we had scheduled spa treatments. The spa facility was a huge disappointment. When going into the steam room, there are chipped and loose tiles all over the floor. I nearly cut my foot on a piece of broken tile. I then proceeded to pick up a whole handful of broken tiles that were loose on the floor. They need to warn their guests to make sure to wear their provided rubber flip-flops. This is extremely hazardous and unacceptable. In addition, the bathroom had no toilet paper. They were not cleaning up empty glasses that were left in the spa. The relaxation area was very basic and not even anywhere to put your feet up. The treatment rooms are Also really old and not up kept. The room I got my facial in had an air conditioning vent that was covered in black mold, and that is the first thing you notice while you're lying on your back, looking up. The door to the treatment room opened when I was not dressed and had to jump underneath the provided blanket. The aesthetician told me that door is broken and just keeps opening and scared the last customer because she also was undressed. Why has this not gotten fixed yet? Unacceptable! The gym facility looks nice. when you first walk in however the walls need paint and parts of the flooring in there are damaged. Housekeeping did not clean our room until 4 o'clock or later on most days. We would do activities during the day and either they had not been there yet or were there and we had to wait for them. Would be nice if they did that a little bit earlier in the day. Most of the people who work there are friendly and polite. Everyone greets you. As far as how the spa handled my situation, I would have hoped they would have taken care of our spa bill based on that, but they sent a lotion to my room and said thanks for understanding. The receptionist at the spa had asked for my contact number and told me someone would call or text me on it and they never did. Also, the spa will add a 25% gratuity to your treatment. I was told that can be adjusted based on preference. They never gave me that opportunity to even look at it just fully charged me without me even signing for my spa visit. The treatments themselves were decent, but I don't typically tip $50 on a 50 minute massage and was made to feel uncomfortable for questioning that. We decided to get some breakfast at the Bluewater restaurant on our list morning before heading to the airport. We ordered eggs, Benedict and a yogurt and waited over 20 minutes with no acknowledgment as to where our food was. After about 25 minutes, we asked the hostess and said we were getting concerned we would miss our transportation to the airport. She said she would go check, went into the kitchen, And never came out. We waited and waited with zero communication and then just ended up leaving because we had no time left. Sadly, the cons here added up and out weighed the pros and left a negative overall experience. We would not come back to this resort and it makes me question the integrity of the brand Ritz Carlton moving forward.
