We had the best morning at Buck Island with the Big Beard's Adventure Tours crew. Mike, Chuck, Leah, and Charlie were the best crew to take us on this adventure. They kept the tour fun and we also learned a lot about the water life, island, and how Buck Island became a National Monument. The cruise out there was so beautiful with clear gorgeous blue waters. We saw many fish and wildlife, with one of the highlights being two Barracudas! The reef was beautiful and full of schools of fish. On the ride back we enjoyed delicious vodka punch and soaked in the views. I would absolutely recommend this tour with this team!

We took the full day buck island snorkeling tour. Captain Mike did an excellent job sailing in high winds. Our crew was excellent taking us on a snorkeling tour . It was unusually rougher due to weather 3/3/26. We were unable to anchor for lunch and they promptly refunded us for to reduce the price to half day prices. This was the 3rd time we have sailed with Big Beards. We highly recommend them!!

The experience was amazing for my first time in St. Croix, first-time snorkeling, all around lots of firsts on this trip. Not much of a swimmer but the crew assisted me with lessons prior to the experience. They were super friendly (and the captain was handsome af lol). Would definitely do this again.

Exceptional sailing; Magical water; Unbelievable underwater exploration; Delicious food at lunch; Friendly and supportive crew (thanks Captain Mike for keeping a watch over my dad and letting him be the center of attention for now on). O-H-I-O Crew

I did the full day snorkeling tour to the Buck Island. Greg was our captain. Sidney and Dominique were the staff. Went during Thanksgiving weekend. Only 10 passengers. So it was a very comfortable trip. It is one of the 5 companies that have licenses to tour the Buck Island so they know what they are doing. I knew lunch was small and had limited options but I wanted to do the full day anyways because I wanted a relaxed tour on a sail boat. If you are in a rush and have a lot of things to cover in St Croix or if you are a cruise customer, I strongly recommend the half day tour. You won't miss out much. The $120(+tips) that we paid per person was a good price point considering everything is expensive on the island. Bring a water proof case for your camera or cellphone. Very very imp. You will have to swim to the island.

Hands down the best snorkel we have ever done! My husband said it was better than the Great Barrier Reef! Felt like we were swimming in a fish tank. The crew was awesome and very accommodating. We did the full day tour and it was well worth the cost for what we got. Lunch was delicious, the drinks were flowing (after snorkel) and it was just a really fun day. A must do if you visit St. Croix.

We booked the full day snorkeling excursion to Buck Island. We were greeted by friendly staff at check in and reviewed our day itinerary. We set off at 9:30a to head to Buck Island Beach. We did some practice snorkeling for a little while and then proceeded to the lagoon for reef and underwater trail snorkeling. What an incredible reef full of tropical fish, we saw a turtle and a few barracuda! After that we headed to a private beach for a bbq and socializing with the group. We cruised back after our exciting day on the water. Highly recommend while visiting St Croix!

Great trip! Jackie, Amy, Logan and Captain Curtis did a great job keeping us entertained and safe. This is a must do if in St. Croix. The scenery can not be beat. Great sites all around.

Great excursion. Start off meeting at the dock. They want no shoes on boat to avoid bringing contamination (bravo). It takes a hour to get to first snorkeling area to get acclimated. Then go to second spot that is the national reserve area. You will get a hour there and see spectacular underwater views. Then they take you to St Croix Beach area for BBQ with hot dogs, hamburgers, fish, veggie burger. They provide more than adequate amount of food. There will be some chips and water, punch, and alcoholic punch. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

He is very knowledgeable about the area and was an absolute expert navigating the terrain of the rain forest and mountain. It's a really fun ride when you have a driver/tour guide that you trust! Kendall was fantastic - highly recommend requesting him! The waves around the rocks surrounding the tide pools were very intense and I had zero fear because Kendall really knew what he was doing! You have to do a little bit of rock climbing to get to the pools but Kendall gave us step-by-step instructions and it was a blast. (I am not a rock climber!) I wish I brought a waterproof phone case to bring my phone to the actual tide pools. It was breathtaking and so fun to swim in!

Please see the attached pictures and read the facts of our experience and decide what would be best for you and yours. Attached are pictures of the facility and their equipment including the two working Jeeps on this day. By lunch time they only had one working Jeep. We left out in "The Green Machine " just after 9 am. We made a stop at the gas station for fuel. We made our way out to Udall Point and then on our way the west side of the island at about 11:15 an while on the main road, not off road, we saw the the rear right wheel and axle pass in front of us. It flew ahead of us and luckily slammed into a tree on the roadside and not into on coming traffic. Our driver was able to get the Jeep off the road just a few feet from a telephone pole. A few more feet we would have slammed head on into the pole. If not for a Good Samaritan who stopped to check on us we would have been stuck on the side of the road for more than 2 hours. A tow truck showed up fairly quickly and hauled off "The Green Machine." The Good samaritan took us and the driver a couple more miles up the road to the chicken shack where we waited until after 2:00 pm for the one other working Jeep to come pick us up. We did have a good lunch at the Chicken Shack. The lady who took our money and another gentleman showed up in the other Jeep. Our driver loaded us up on this Jeep and we returned to the office. I had to hold the door shut on the way back. Upon the return to the Tan Tan office we were offered the option to complete the trip this day or schedule a half day tour another day. Being that we were more than 2 and half hours behind schedule and had dinner reservations we were not able to continue this day. We were not able to reschedule for another half day tour during the remainder of our trip. We asked for a full refund form the lady who took our cash and she informed us she could not refund our money. We asked to speak to the owner. She informed us the owner was not on the islands but was able to get him on the phone. We advised him we wanted a full refund due to the unfulfilled tour and being put in an unreasonable dangerous situation due to the faulty vehicle. Take a look at the picture and make a call for your own safety. The owner refused to refund our money. He offered half a refund or a half day tour another day. We advised neither option would work for us. We simply wanted a refund. He flat out said he would not refund our money & we informed him we would make a factual post of our experience on social media with Tan Tan, with pictures and seek legal assistance to recoup our money. We offered to accept a refund and take no further action and part on good terms. The owner refused to refund our money and told us to do what we needed to. So here we are. Please review pictures and make a decision for yourself.

Our small group consisted of one experienced rider, one rider with some experience, and two novice riders. The girls who led the ride were both amazing and were eager to talk about the history of the island and our horses, which were all rescues, save one. They shared stories of how the horses got their names, as well as how they'd survived on the island with no power for almost a year after a hurricane destroyed the island's infrastructure. Our ride took us through the old sugar plantations and onto the beach before taking us into the water. Before entering the water, we were warned about the behaviors to watch for in our horses that would indicate the horse was about to lay down in the water, as they like to do sometimes and what to do if the horse did lay down. My horse, Alien, apparently loves the water so much that he moans the entire time, and he loves swimming! This was not your typical cruise ship excursion where you walk your horse in the shallow water. We were in about 5' of water, and it was AWESOME!!! I felt like I could have stayed and ridden horses on the beach and in the water all day, and yes, Alien made his "ohhhh this feels so good" noises the entire time we were in the water. My shorts were completely soaked, but I expected that and I wasn't bothered by it! The warm sun meant they dried quickly. I rode barefoot because I was wearing flip flops, and I didn't want to risk losing them on the ride. It was my choice, but I recommend if you're not comfortable with riding barefoot, wear something like water shoes, old sneakers, or Crocs. I've added a picture of me on Alien just before we went out into the water.
