Palmas is a gorgeous area and the surrounding area is beautiful! It was amazingly clean and safe. You are locked behind security gates that are monitored 24/7. I can't say enough how well kept the place is. There seemed to be more landscapers than clients. The hotel itself is spectacular! Check in was easy and fast. Every one speaks English so you don't have to worry. Parking is next door to the hotel and again very safe. Our room was extremely well kept each day. There is a safe, coffee machine and small fridge. The bed is one of the best I've experienced. It's like you're sleeping in a marshmallow. We sat at the cafe for drinks and lunch one day. Not going to lie the prices are on the higher side but remember this is what you pay for. We had dinner at the restaurant on site called Travo. I had the octopus, she had the grouper. We ordered a bottle of Processo. The food passed all our expectations. This restaurant was an easy 5 star. Service and friendliness went with it. I did not mind dropping some coin on it. The hotel has 2 pools. One with a swim up bar plus a pizza oven. I'm deaf but My girlfriend says they play music the whole time. The other pool was very isolated. A great place to find your peace. We had such an amazing time together here. We even got off the property a few times for dinner. We rented a golf cart. That's $85 dollars for 24 hours. We had a blast discovering all the turtles and looking at all the houses. We are already talking about coming back. Highly recommend coming for an amazing get away.

The one thing that can kill a review for me is the staff or having a problem with what I pay for. Had problems with my food and how it took forever. Watched people come up to pool side bar ,order food and then get theres before me. Then it comes out and was cold. Was told one burger would be taken off then was argued with when it wasnt. It was eventually taken off but after the headache was acquired. Maybe it wasnt someone's day but come on. Im on vacation, help me out and just chill

While the property…read moreitself is visually stunning and the pool area is a major highlight, the initial "welcome" was lacking. Our check-in felt cold, and we weren't given much information about the resort amenities. The biggest issue was cleanliness. Our room was ready quickly, but I found used water glasses left behind outside of the room and, more concerning, my bed linens clearly hadn't been changed--there were visible stains and hair on the pillows and sheet. It took a few conversations with the front desk and the housekeeping manager to get it resolved, but once they did, the staff was very diligent for the rest of the trip. The service at the on-site restaurants was consistently slow, so we ended up eating off-site most nights for dinner. It's a beautiful spot for a large group or a conference, but for a personal getaway, the lack of attention to detail means it wouldn't be my first choice. Special thanks to: Victoria (Front Desk), Ricky (Concierge), and Mary (Bartender) for providing the kind of service I expected from a resort of this caliber.

Weekend stays include a really loud entertaining band on Friday and Saturday nights which was really fun unless you wanted to sleep before 2 A.M. This hotel is the only hotel in Palmas del Mar with a casino (it's a bit small but I suppose it serves its purpose). Getting around to the beach and everywhere else was really simple. Golfcarts and paths let you go where you want. The pool is nice in the back as well, though I really enjoy going into pools deeper than 4 feet. OH, a warning: be careful when putting in the address for the hotel in a GPS system...be sure to call the hotel to lead you off the main highways and ask the security people in the front how to get to the hotel. We almost ended up in some really random community high in a mountain with narrow roads. Very random indeed.

But once you look past the pretty scenery, you'll find that this hotel is lacking in many areas. First, the guest rooms. Boy are these run down. My room had no fridge and the deadbolt on the patio door was busted, so I had to use a ghetto pin thing to keep it from being opened from the outside. The ceiling in the bathroom needed paint badly, and there was often not enough hot water in the shower. Their housekeeping staff was pretty forgetful too. On one day they forgot to give me any face cloths. On another day they forgot to give me any hand towels. Checklist, anyone? The worst part about the room is that there was virtually no sound isolation from the hallway, meaning you could hear every hallway conversation and all the music from the main lobby. Lots of noise continuing past midnight every night. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to microwave an $18 steak. That's what I have to say about the hotel's only sit-down restaurant, Sebastian's, which is pretty bad. I went on a quiet Monday night when the restaurant was only at half capacity, but they were running extremely slow anyways. The guys next to us had to wait half an hour for their appetizers. I had to wait 45 minutes for my "medium" steak which was very well done, chewy, and had no juices on top... which to me means it was microwaved or otherwise reheated. The wait staff, although not rude, was pretty much uninterested in the guests and took forever to do anything like fill water or run your credit card. Then there's the hotel's "bar", which is supposed to be a wine boutique. All of the tables outside the bar had a flier advertising a 5-7pm happy hour, with no additional details. So I went in and asked the bartender about it, and he asserted that there was no 5-7pm happy hour. So I picked up a flier off the table and handed to him, and he went and asked a manager about it. The manager told him it was "$2.50 for beers, $4 for rum drinks". What, no wine specials in a wine boutique? Anyways, I went back the next evening to take part in the happy hour. When I got the check, they had charged me $3.50 a beer, $6 for my Captain (rum) and coke, and $4.50 for my Bacardi (rum) and ginger ale. When I called BS, the bartender (same guy) asserted that he'd previously said $3.50 a beer and $4 for HOUSE rum drinks, which included DonQ rum only. Seriously, screw you guys. The property outside of the rooms is pretty nice, with a decent pool, jacuzzi, and a one minute walk across the golf course grass to get to the beautiful looking beach. However, the beach has a terrible seaweed problem. On all but one of our trips to the beach (we were at the beach a lot), there was a ridiculous amount of seaweed floating in the water that all got caught in your hair and stuff. Maybe in the winter the ocean is better, but damn. As for the pool, it's pretty sweet. Gets as warm as bath water, but not much you can do about that. My only gripe is that their list of pool rules posted in both English and Spanish says no glass allowed, but nothing about coolers full of cans. Yet this security guard lady kept going around telling people they couldn't have coolers in the pool area. So we'd just move our cooler 15 feet away into the grass and that was fine. But WTF? The front desk staff at the hotel were fantastic, but the rest of the employees in the hotel (like at the restaurants and such) just didn't seem to care much about their jobs. One example was when I asked the front desk lady for pool towels. She told me she was out but that someone just needed to run to housekeeping to grab a new batch that was ready. She couldn't abandon the desk so she asked one of the random housekeeping guys to go get the towels. He chatted with his buddies in the main lobby for a little bit, went behind the main desk, came out a little bit later, chatted with his buddies some more, and then disappeared. 10 minutes later I gave up waiting and went to the beach with my room's shower towels. Also beware that the hotel charges $12 a day for self parking. This place isn't all bad. They give you one free bottle of water per day in the rooms, have a free internet terminal down in the lobby (which is NOT deep frozen or the like, so beware of keyloggers!), and the Casino has a decent number of slots (only 3 tables though). But for the money, unless you're an avid golfer, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

It is one of the largest gated communities in the Caribbean. Crescent Cove is located directly on Crescent Beach and features a decent size round pool. This is the reason we chose to rent here versus many of the other condo complexes and private homes within Palmas del Mar. Many other rentals require you to drive to get to the beach, but our group wanted to be able to walk there. Crescent Cove is walking distance to the casino at the Wyndham Hotel, which is a plus. To reach other restaurants and shopping in Palmas del Mar, however, you'll need a vehicle. The only day that the beach and pool area was crowded during the week that we were there was on Easter Sunday. The rest of the week we were pretty much the only people around. The pool and beach are open from about 8am until 10pm, and then they close a gate to lock access to the beach. Beach and pool lounge chairs are provided. The beach itself, is decent. There was a lot of seaweed that washed up while we were there, but it was still a good time.

To my surprise I saw the villa on crescent cove and from the outside they had a picture of the villa that I liked (come to find out that picture was taken across the other hotel where we stayed) Now the inside pictures were pretty nice as well (but it didnt show the long flights of "stairs" to each room) basically what I saw I didnt get, so with what I thought I saw we all booked to stay there. Fast forward to when we arrived, in my mind I thought it was an orange villa but No! It was a God awful Grey and the paint was chipping off the stairs outside and it was dirty. It just look like it needed to be renovated and updated, all in all that totally threw me off my mood. Inside was nice, the furniture was pretty modern and was neat but not so clean, the rooms were ok. I had to settle for the room on the 3rd floor (Great!!!!!) that had a 32' TV, it just didnt make Sense (i Needed binoculars to watch the TV) when the smallest room on the 2nd floor had like a 40' TV, its not about the TV it's the principle. Beds were comfy at least! What disturbed me the most is we all decided to go food shopping to later find out the refrigerator wasnt working, we called and they came that nite to fix it, then the next day the microwave wasnt working we had to re-heat on the electric stove but thankfully the next day they came with another microwave, Then .... (hold on, there's more) We made breakfast on the griddle flat bread maker thing and the socket blew out, now we had to find a socket that worked placing the griddle maker on a chair. By this point I was ready to get another villa, but to carry everything back down the steps smh was not happening .... uuugh what a nightmare. To end off I wouldn't stay their even if they paid me!

After spending the first half of the trip hiking and venturing out in San Juan, it was nice to go to a more remote part of the island and relax. Plus, free happy hours and breakfast...what more do you need?! I'll start with the amenities. The three levels of pools made the area feel bigger than it was. There were conventions going on while we stayed, so it was crowded, but we managed to find chairs both days. The best part was the easy access to a private beach. Plenty of seating and space for couple and families to spread out. The water is also incredible! But I recommend wearing some sort of water shoes due to seaweed and some rocks depending on where you wander. The food and service went beyond my expectations. To accommodate my wife's gluten allergy, the server at the poolside restaurant managed to secure us *baked French fries, which no one had ever done for her before. That was amazing. The burger I had at the indoor restaurant was also very good. The prices for those meals were pretty inexpensive for a hotel. As for the free items, the happy hours were pleasant. Not the biggest *wow factors, but still...it's free. The breakfasts are well worth waking up for, and as other reviewers pointed out, Jorge's omelettes were supreme. If you're a millennial like myself, stepping into this Embassy Suites is jumping back things I found fascinating as a child. There's a koi pond! And the glass indoor elevators still amaze me. Yes...the carpets and some aesthetics feel outdated. The bedroom carpets felt out of place and old, and should be removed for tile at some point. But if the 2005 vibe is the reason we could afford staying here, I'll take it! As an added bonus, across the parking lot, there are other restaurants, a bowling alley, driving range, and go carts! There's also a casino with live poker and roulette if you're feeling lucky. This resort truly has something for everyone. Make sure to order a piña colada and soak in the good vibes.

This hotel has an attached casino and it is very large with tables and digital machines. You have choices of cabana rooms or rooms overlooking the ocean. I chose the ocean view with patio. The room was very large and the bed and pillows were comfy. I really like the pillows not too fluffy, soft, or hard. The housekeepers were the best given how large the room was and how they have to deal with sand tracked into the room. They mopped everyday and ensured the tile was spotless. I also chose to use points to get the breakfast every morning and I am glad I did that breakfast if bought separate would run $40 a day, but with the selection you had would still be worth it.
