This is such a cute wine bar! Lots of delicious wine and snacks. I came here one evening after work with some friends and we tried a couple of the wines and a rose slushie. I am and always will be a big fan of a rose slushie, so that was amazing! We shared the "Ricky Bobby" cheese board, Burrata bruschetta, and herbed ricotta bruschetta. The Ricky bobby was good, although I don't think the amount of food that you get on the board is quite worth $16. Both of the bruschettas though were SO great. The cheeses were perfectly creamy and the toppings were fresh and plenty. Such a great place to meet friends for a glass of wine and appetizer, I can't wait to come back soon. read more

Today was SUCH a disappointment! Service, maybe I should say "Lack there of", didn't even happen! There was a really nice guy who cleaned the table for us, then the bar staff was pure crap! I live on the north side of Denver so I had never been here. Was on the south side for a work function yesterday and someone recommended Carboy. I had never been - and am typically not a huge pasta eater so I was slightly begrudged when I sat down and looked at the menu. My go to's are steaks and Mexican- so this was not my typical meal preference. The Chile rellano ravioli caught my eye. Pasta with Mexican flavors? I'm in. Well let me tell you- it did not disappoint! Wow. Delicious is an understatement. So unique. The flavors were so well developed. We also shared the charcuterie board and it was very tasty. My only complaint is that the charcuterie board really didn't seem to have enough meat or cheese for sharing. I stopped into Carboy at their Littleton location this summer and was so blown away by the service and takeout selection of draft wine that I signed up for their quarterly wine club. However, it's far more convenient for me to bike downtown to grab by selection, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was no problem at all. I'm also a bit of a slacker, so I was even more excited to learn that even though I missed my pickup date, that was also not a problem. I swung by the Denver location, grabbed my haul of wine and was gifted this swanky bag, with individual pockets to protect my precious bounty. I also came back with that original draft wine bottle and enjoyed a refill with a $7 discount! I love that you. An bring in your bottle growler style and get a discounted refresher. This is definitely a happening wine bar! On a Monday night, at 6pm, the place was packed and buzzing with people enjoying the end of happy hour, which we unfortunately missed. Initially, the bartender wasnt the friendliest and seemed to rush us into ordering, but he ended up being very friendly and personable and attentive. The wine is good, but not great. My Rose and the Cab in my sister's flight were the highlights, but the rest of the Red flight and the white blend I tasted were a little lackluster. Most of the food menu is or can be gluten free, since the chef has a wheat allergy. We tried the baked goat cheese with gluten free bread, and it was phenomenal, especially with the wine! My sister had the steak tacos and liked them. My biggest complaints are parking and the Yelp "deal" that yelp has for this business. If you check in, they offer you a glass of house wine for $5 during happy hour, but if you read the HH menu, all wines are $2 off, making the house wine $5 anyway, so where is the deal?! Otherwise, this is a fun spot for an urban wine tasting, and I would return to visit the restaurant next door and sip a glass of Rose on the patio. read more

Newly moved to Speer neighborhood and stumbled upon this adorable spot looking for places to dine at. What a find! Cute spot. Greeted by the friendly staff within seconds of walking in. My daughter and I were at the restaurant the night before and had an excellent experience. So much so, we returned for happy hour today. My daughter left her ID at the hotel. We stopped in last night to see the new space and taste some wines. I spent many nights in the old Govnr's park so it was great to see the space being used so well. The space is so clean and inviting, it really welcomes you. I am a huge fan of the owners other nearby Angelo's Taverna, so I had high expectations for this spot and they did not disappoint! We started in the tasting room and each had a selection of wines to try. I wish I had taken some notes about what kinds of wine I tried, they were all so good! We were introduced to what a carboy is (the actual bottle you can have refilled with wine, like a growler for wine). My friends bought several bottles of wine and we moved over to the Logan Street restaurant for something to eat. Carboy, the tasting room and Logan street are all attached and you can walk from one to another inside. We were sat promptly and ordered a few apps to share. The fried feta, meatballs, brussels, tagliatelle and shrimp. Every bite was amazing but my fan fave was the feta. Wow was it good. We had more wine and ordered 3 deserts to share to finish up. The spiced carrot cake was delicious and my fave followed by the cheesecake. The espresso creme brulee was not my fave but I'm not a huge brulee fan to start with. Fantastic place! Been here a few times in the last week. We've tried the wine flights, Italian sandwich, Carboy salad, chips and fondue, and bruschetta and all of it was great! The food is fresh, tasty, and unique! I would definitely recommend the Italian sandwich. The wines are all good, not my favorite, but very light and great for summer. They have a selection of some merch and local wine art which was fun to browse. Service was not great, had to flag someone down after waiting for 15 minutes to order, despite many people who seemingly worked there standing arising. I've come here twice now - once for a glass of wine with some friends and once for happy hour wine and some snacks. It doesn't seem like you have one server per se but everyone will stop by to help. It's simple but I appreciate that they have a bottle of water on the table. The red blend is simple yet an easy drinking red. The Rose was delicious. Sweet and a tad dry. My friend loved her Syrah. We got some homemade potato chips with fondue - so decadent and fresh! I got the whipped ricotta bruschetta with black pepper and truffle honey topped with fresh rosemary. So simple yet phenomenal. This is my first yelp review and I hate to say it's not the best. I've been to caribou once before a few years ago and had a good experience but this time around I walked it and granted they had no low top tables for me and my son and mother in law but I wasn't even offered a time of when one would be available. Suggested to go outside, so we did. Sat out there and it took about 45 minutes to get a white wine flight and then even longer to put an order of goat cheese in. PARKING - Parking in this area isn't very easy, but you can try to find street parking in the area. If you can uber or walk, I'd recommend doing that instead. SERVICE - Our server was friendly and attentive even as the restaurant became more and more crowded. FOOD - We tried to the warm aged goat cheese, burrata, meatballs, and butter cake. The goat cheese was my favorite. I love the sweetness from the figs. The meatballs were my least favorite, mostly because I didn't like the red sauce. My only complaint is that I wish dishes came with more bread, especially the burrata. For a generous serving of burrata, two slices of bread wasn't sufficient. Prices were pretty standard; it was in the range I'd expect for the type of place. The white wine flight was delicious. While I enjoyed all of the wine, the Chardonnay was my favorite by far. While we ate, I saw several boards brought out. Next time I visit, I'll absolutely be giving one a try. They all looked incredible. read more
