PostalAnnex - Postal Annex Plus, Scotts Valley CA

    PostalAnnex

For nearly a decade, I've trusted Amanda and the team at Postal Annex with some of my most valuable…read moreshipments, everything from turntables and amplifiers to preamps and other oddly shaped, fragile audio equipment, often worth well over $10,000. No matter how unusual the item, Amanda consistently finds a way to package it securely, professionally, and at the best price I've found anywhere in Santa Cruz County. Just as importantly, she's always welcoming, positive, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. I live in Aptos and gladly make the drive because I know my equipment is in good hands. It's rare to find a business that combines expertise, fair pricing, and such outstanding customer service. I'm incredibly grateful to have Postal Annex as part of our community, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my packaging and shipping needs.

Had a time sensitive document that needed Faxed same day. Went to Annex and expressed the urgency…read moreand need to email them my docs to print and Fax. 2 girls behind counter clearly didn't care, showed no motivation to help, and when I asked them for wifi connection to email my docs?... "We don't have internet for customers, you need to go to the Starbucks across the lot". What? Ran to SB's where had to enter valid email (it detected my false email attempts to avoid spam), sent docs and ran back to Annex. Employee printed, then tried to Fax. it was busy again & again & again. I called the govt agency Inwas faxing to who said Fax was working fine on their end. Ran to UPS ScottsV where they sent it through first try and said it's not uncommon for print shops to still operate with outdated fax machines that are notoriously know to have issues. It about cost me my case. Can't express the helpfulness of the UPS staff vs the lacksidasical, non-caring attitude of Annex's staff.

Aspen Creek Photo - Quite curled

Definitely will not be using Aspen Creek again, but it's not because of the customer service, which…read morein my case was fine. It's because of the quality. I had an order printed that came out very dark, much darker than they were when printed by another service. Aspen Creek was nice enough to re-print the order with "color correction," which I appreciated and which was an improvement (though not a service I'd want to use regularly, since it results in each ordinary 4x6 print costing $2, which I think is extremely high). The problem that remained was that the photos curled significantly. They curled within a few hours of unwrapping, and no amount of pressing seemed to help. They were so curled that it was very difficult to incorporate them into an album (at least, an album without sleeves) -- they strained against the mounting squares and popped up, and were in a constant non-flat state of straining against photo corners. Frustrating. In the future, I will look for a service that prints photos with color fidelity, at a reasonable price, on paper that stays more or less flat. I'm happy to pay more for high quality, but I didn't find that in my photos from Aspen Creek.

I kept seeing tantalizing ads on Facebook, but the name haunted me, I googled them and remembered…read moreabout the Oakhurst California printing outfit I had trouble with a number of years ago. I started reading yelp reviews and it all came back to me. It is a shame the problems are still the same. I had a photo exhibit coming up with a deadline, silly me, I tried a new company. The prints looked fine but I had to pay exorbitant rush prices to a cabinet maker for frames because my local frame shops couldn't get frames done in time. Oh they were framed, but for hundreds of dollars, and not how I would have liked them to be framed. Aspen Photo offered me a $50 credit for future orders, I declined. My lesson was worth much more than that. Their prices are competitive, especially with the 20% off ads that I now will block from Facebook. If you are on a deadline, JUST SAY NO!!!
