BWP gave exceptional customer CARE especially when they didn't have to! The first great experience was giving a very fair price and turnaround on posters for my friend's retirement party. They responded quickly to my email and phone inquiries and offered a way better price than Staples or Office Depot. What happened next was even better...in all my franticness of organizing the party I FORGOT to pick up the posters! They were closed for the weekend but I called and emailed and though I had then gotten to my destination and couldn't return, they called me back and were willing to go to the office to get them for me. Sooo nice. Additionally, when I did pick them up during the following week the owner only charged me a fraction of the cost. I have to admit, I bumped into this place by accident. I wanted to look for some certain pencils and erasers and the place I was looking for went out of business or I could not find it =( I happened to stumble upon business with pleasure. Believe it or not, the owner of the shop happened to be one of my lab mates. I felt stupid and I told him wow I did not know that you work here and he said yeah and I own the place. But he is a nice guy though. The store is clean overall and he gave me the tour of the place as well and really nice. They did not have my pencils unfortunately, but the good news is that they special ordered them for me and the next day my pencils came in. Now, when I need something done and done right I go to Business With Pleasure.. the shop is a bit odd shaped but has so many useful and neat gifts, items and treasures to canoodle as you wait. This local company truly has the community spirit in all the employees. While going through a difficult family crisis which required legal documents copied, faxed and produced, the employees quietly and respectfully went above and beyond the requirements of helping us, printing, folding and shrink-wrapping death memorial programs, when the request had only been to make copies. Our faxing needs were in different medias (printed, digital, etc.). They combined all documents and provided coversheets (which in my crisis brain I had forgotten to include) and charged us 25% of what the "big box" office stores had quoted us. I don't usually rate any business, especially a service business, with the highest rating after only one experience, but I'll gladly make an exception for BWP. The name is aptly applied: Business with Pleasure. Not knowing exactly how I was going to get a quality print job in duplicate out of a document into which I'd downloaded a bunch of Internet images and ancient photographs, a weird variety of halftones, 4- and 5-color logos, and miscellaneous artwork, I walked in with my document on a thumbdrive off of my MacBook Pro and asked for a printout of two sample pages. They said (essentially): go home and email us a PDF. So I did that around midnight. The next day, I got a phone call to come in and see the pages. When I checked them, they were perfection: the right quality, color, and weight Hammermill paperstock, immaculately reproduced halftones, and neat, clean images. For less than $20, I got two copies of my lengthy document within the hour. I cannot say enough about the patience displayed and the quality of customer service. I'll definitely be back with a more complicated job before long. [Once upon a time, I was charged with the huge task of buying printing services for a corporation; we spent millions of dollars a year on printing, binding, and the like. If everyone I'd dealt with had been as friendly and cost-conscious as BWP, it would have been SOoooo much easier.] Oh, a big surprise is that, like Stationery Outlook before them, BWP sells a wide variety of inexpensive gift/stationery items, office supplies, stickers, and tons of interesting gadgets. Inexpensive, I say, but of good quality. So happy these folks exist. I have been a client of BWP for years now. At first I was concerned when they moved into their new location but it really is not so far and I work in SV anyway. The customer service at BWP is very, very good. The manager, Cary, is both knowledgeable and service oriented. I had a full color graphic design and print job recently that I expected them to be unable to match Got Print on. But they surprised me and actually matched the price. Plus I had the finished job in 48 hours. Their office supplies selection is fairly complete and the prices are reasonable. I know they do large format printing and signs but have not used that service as yet. I highly recommend BWP. read more

Since moving to their currant location on Victor Square I feel like they should change their name Don't Want Your Business! I have stopped by a few times to grab a quick item since it's an easy location for me. However, not once have I gotten anyone asking me if they can help me and even though I'm usually the only person in the store it takes a good 5 minutes for a person to get to the registrar to wrong me up. I just want go in there any more. Seems to me they are concentrating on custom print jobs, not even sure why they keep a store front. read more

I had a 8' by 1' print of a the visit by Teddy Roosevelt's Great White Fleet to Santa Cruz that was aging and turning orange on one end. BWP digitized the print and replaced my old copy with a new, detailed version in the frame. They removed the crease between the two sides of the photo and brought it to life. It is a unique picture and they handled it with the utmost care and suggested other ways to display it. Great job! read more

I went in to get something laminated and the guy grabbed from my hand, was rude and said it would be a few minutes. No smile, no how are you today, no can I help you, wow, I will NEVER go there again. They have a few workers there and they just passed my by. The owner is even rude.
