Left feeling SCAMMED AND DISAPPOINTED! 2nd time going her after new management arrived and it will…read morebe the LAST! On May 8th, I took the car to Rooster Ridge for further inspection. I explained the problem as the car not accelerating and jumping. I provided the codes from O'Reilly as well. Adrian said they would run there own test and test drive it to make note of it. The technician (Alex I think) immediately began taking things apart after promising an estimate. He said that the issue was caused by the sensor not working and it needed to be switched out along with several filters. They were very persistent in saying that I needed the new air flow sensor and all the filters and that they would give me an estimate. The first was for $1292 with new parts then I asked for after-market (O'Reilly $182) and it came down to $1083. I was hesitant but believed what they were saying and that I would have my car back in one hour which they stated. After roughly 45 minutes, the gentleman from the front wanted me to take care of my charges and said the technician was close to being done with the car. I charged the amount and they said they would be back with the keys shortly. When he returned, he said the technician couldn't get my car into gear and he needed to explain things to me. They told me I needed a new transmission. They offered a new transmission estimate of $7,900.00 and a gently previously used one at $5700.00, which were both far above the value of my car. I test drove the car with the technician and it was doing all the same things before fixing the sensor and filters. I asked him why he fixed all the other stuff when he knows it was the transmission and he wouldn't answer me and said he doesn't do pricing talk to the front people. A second opinion from an independent mechanic confirmed that the issue was indeed the transmission all along, and the airflow sensor replacement was unnecessary to do first. I feel like this was not done in good faith or ethical in any way. The estimate is grossly inflated and I feel they took advantage of me. Especially, since I brought the codes with me and the transmission was one of the codes! I just want my neighbors to be aware and to avoid taking your vehicle here!
