This place is awesome. I always come here for the guacamole, salsa and chips. I have recently tried their meat from the meat department and the carne asada is so good! I don't know how they marinate it but boy is it delicious. I did have a learning curve with the meat department...just grab a number and wait for it to be called. That is their system and it doesn't seem like they stray from it no matter if you are the only customer there. Just grab a number, it'll save you some trouble. But everything is great here! I even love the self check out. It was another learning curve of how to use it but you can look up any item that is in the produce section or in the dessert area. THURSDAY 06/11/26 (afternoon shift ) I' shop at Stater Brothers, Albertsons & WINCOS/ since it's in my area. I'm all for supporting Latino businesses/establishments. I can see there is a number system that needs to be STRICTLY followed at the meat department. However, I feel when it is not too busy, courtesy would be to COMMUNICATE with the customers. I was waiting to order carne asada by the pound (since the seasoning/preparation was recommended by a colleague) There was a butcher who was just calling out numbers repeatedly, mind you, I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE, aside from the 2 men (that were shopping together ) ahead of us. He was so offended when the other butcher asked me a question. He interrupted us and said "HE IS HELPING ANOTHER CUSTOMER " I never once approached him or asked to be helped. (I was waiting there quietly. There were two men ahead, I guess I was suppose to READ HIS MIND! Wow! He is extremely RUDE! Needs to learn how to communicate clearly and respectfully. (LIKE AN ADULT) not an enraged child. Well then again, by looks of the other reviews, this place has a reputation of unprofessional behavior. I will not be a repeated guest here. No one wants to shop at a place where they get mistreated. I understand people have good days and bad days. Being disrespectful just shows the lack of maturity someone has. Very clean and organized grocery store. You can find bakery foods, hot deli, and various flavors of agua frescas. I tried their bakery items and the fresh bread was good but their cookies and cupcakes weren't as moist and it was very dense and too sugary. Their frescas are delicious especially the watermelon flavor and it was a good price for a medium $4.5. What a deal! Their hot deli items are good. They have fresh carnitas, pork rinds, grilled chicken and tortillas. They make their tortillas and chips and guacamole fresh here. Overall a good experience. I'm extremely frustrated with the lack of customer service at Cardenas Markets. Every time I call the store, no one answers. On the rare occasion someone does pick up, I get transferred to the meat department and then the call goes unanswered again. All I needed was a simple price, and it shouldn't be this difficult to get basic information. There seems to be no accountability or follow-through when customers call. It's very disappointing because good communication is such a basic part of customer service. I love Cardenas because it has been around for at least 20 years. I always am able to find all the ingredients that I need to make a Mexican food feast. Ordered a birthday cake for my sister and asked the bakery attendant if she was able to write happy birthday. She said of course and proceeds to write on the cake and tape the box closed. To my horror I opened the box when I got home to find this. Had to scrape it off the best I could because I would have been mortified to present this to someone. The pineapple and strawberry tamales need to be sweeter and thinner for a better taste. There is no reason for them to be thick and for Cardenas to charge the same as the meat, pork and chicken tamales since they don't have any filling in the middle. read more

There's one lady who works at the food court. Older lady wears a lot of makeup. She's always so rude to me and my children. She yelled at my son one time. I'm very disappointed with the service from Cardenas in the past month. First experience was when I was charged a different price for the raspado compared to what is listed on their menu. Prices on the menu should reflect what you will be charged. Second experience was when I asked for a pound of rice. The staff member wasn't sure what container to use, and didn't even bother to weigh the container. I paid and handed the 1 pound of rice that felt like it was a lot less. I asked the staff member to weigh it and she did, to her shock it was not a pound. She didn't want to add more rice to make it a pound. Only after she weighed it the container on 2 different scales about 4 times did she offer to add more if I wanted to. By that time I had already paid for the supposed pound of rice. These are not good practices for a chain of grocery markets, and it makes me hesitant to continue shopping there. read more

I shop here for their meat, produce and bakery items. However, the main thing I come here for are the freshly made tortillas. The yellow ones are my absolute favorite. I sadly came by this Sunday and they didn't have them. I guess the machine broke. They also didn't have the muffins with the red wrapper. If you know, YOU KNOW. It was upsetting but I'll be back. That won't stop me from returning. I see a lot of negative reviews about the service and cleanliness, but I've never had a problem. I went to order carnitas from La Cocina and waited over ten minutes when I was next in line. I could see they were putting together some big orders and it was Sunday so I was being patient. But then the man behind the counter started speaking in Spanish to the lady after me in line and she came up to the counter to get serviced! I had to interrupt them to let him know I was next. I had three recent passings of family members and one still in the hospital. I told her I had a family emergency because she asked why I cancelled. Its a nicely organized store. Clean with lots of selections. However this review is specifically regarding the butchers chorizo. I've purchased it twice now and its the worst chorizo I've ever tasted. Both times. Terrible flavor and even worse after taste. Hottingers in Chino makes a pretty good chorizo and the best I've had in California can be found in Lockeford, Ca at Lockeford meats...( where you can meet the butchers version of Seinfields soup Nazi if you question the quality of their products. ) Lockford is too far to drive just to purchase 1-1/2 lb of meat. So I thought I would give Cardenas chorizo a second try since it was on the way home from church. I will never go there for chorizo again. Go elsewhere for chorizo, otherwise its a nice store with competitive pricing. read more

I drove out of my way into the hood to supposedly save money and what a waste it was! Literally EVERYTHING is about a dollar more expensive here than my local Smart & Final in the city of Eastvale. The staff running this store's phones and customer service does a poor job! They never answer the phone, and if they do, they seem like they dont know how to transfer a call. I requested to be sent to the kitchen so i can preorder food only to be hung up on instead of transferred. After several attempts to call back, they pickup and immediately hang up so they dont have to hear the phone or probably so they dont have to deal with customers that are calling in. I have developed a dangerous love affair with their bakery since my brother clued me in on their caramel flan/tres leches cake. They also have the best Mexican "deli"/food court around. The carnitas, carne asada, grilled whole and half chickens, and other meats are chopped in plain view for public ogling near the conveyor belt of freshly made tortillas. It is a great place for the "experience" with the ranchero music blasting from within, fresh beverages served from giant jugs, an electronics counter with flashy lights and tacky pink zebra print cell phone cases, and the fiery manager who is always muttering wildly over the intercom in Spanish, yelling for some poor associate to come to the kitchen NOW. He speaks too quickly for me to catch everything but I can understand the "A LA COCINA, AHORA MISMO!" part repeated all too clearly. From what it sounds like, it seems as though he is firing an employee at least twice a day. read more
