In all of those years I have never, ever been more pleased than I am with the customer service that I continue to receive from Cardinal Camera. Kurt Seelig -- the owner -- goes so far beyond what his customers could reasonably expect that it defies the imagination. As a result, I have rewarded his efforts with a lot of purchases. Ordered a Sigma Art lens for my Sony A7III for a great price. This was right before Christmas and the item was actually back ordered. Followed up with Cheryl and Kurt after the Holidays and they shipped out promptly thereafter. Item arrived well packed (better than the packing job from a lens I got from Adorama a year before). Lens works beautifully! Thank you Cardinal! My only constructive feedback would be to pro-actively reach out to customers ASAP if any items are back ordered. While I was in no rush to get the lens, some customers might understandably feel a little anxious to plop down hundreds if not thousands of dollars on camera gear only to find out later that that the item(s) are not in stock. Better to get ahead of the curve to pre empt any flurry of phone calls or emails wondering when an order will ship. read more

DO NOT USE FOR FILM DEVELOPMENT!!!!! I recently got into film photography and needed a lab to develop my film. So, naturally, I went to the closest camera shop that I knew had a darkroom. Ive sent 5-10 rolls there now and while I will say I've gotten some great results, I've also gotten some ruined shots. I have now gotten multiple rolls back with nasty lines across them. I know that it isn't my camera because I intentionally used different cameras to be sure of this. The above photo is one that's pretty sentimental to me as it was the first time I've gotten to go shoot with my best friend in a long long time. However, every single shot I took has this line across it. On top of this, the service is awful. I've been accused of stealing at this store when I went to pick up negatives that they scanned for me even after showing the charge on my card. When I had first started, they talked down as if I was dumb which already made me not want to come back. The only person I like in the store from my experience is Scott, who has been very helpful and kind to me whenever I ask questions or drop off my film. Overall, if you want crappy scans and some sketchy service, this is the shop for you! Otherwise, I would look for a different lab / store. read more

Ordered a $2,500 Canon adverted on eBay by this establishment. No tracking showing shipping for days after order. Messaged them repeatedly with no reply from them. Requested to even cancel order since it had been a week with no reply...still no reply. This seller is irresponsible business, like dealing with a 3-year-old. I am contacting eBay to step in and handle the problem. Unfortunately (for them) I am also a prominent consumer advocate for three decades, handling all manner of global fraud / scams - filing investigations with every national and international agency / civil and criminal suits. My husband and I went to Cardinal on July 4th. We knew exactly what we wanted, a new digital camera to replace an old one. We wanted a bit more than a point and shoot but not too complicated. Ordered a lens online 3/8 and was charged ($750) that day. A week passes, nothing arrives. I call the store, and someone tells me they'll call me back. No one calls me back. The next day I call a second time, same deal, no one calls me back. Another day passes, I call again, and this time I ask not to be called back and I'm put on hold. After six minutes, I'm hung up on. Another day passes and I call a fourth time and I indicate I'm starting to get irritated (politely, not raising my voice). The individual who answered has an extremely bad attitude, tells me "We've been busy" and he'll just cancel my order. At this point he promptly hangs up on me without asking for any details about the order. I would highly suggest anyone who thinks about purchasing an item from Cardinal Camera think twice as their customer service is atrocious. I would be highly worried that if I actually did receive the item and anything was wrong with it, I would be out of luck. read more

Horrible experience (and I have purchased cameras from this store before.) Ordered a camera online and paid for it in December 2020. They gave me the run around for months. Finally told me the camera I ordered was not going to come in but I could have the upgraded version - when it came in. Never heard from them again- went to store to see what other cameras were available only to find they received a shipment with the upgraded camera but no one had reached out to me to let me know. They were clearly not interested in taking care of me. I did get a refund but they had my money for almost 7 months and were not willing to work with us. This review will highlight some good issues and some bad. I had purchased a high priced camera (Nikon D 810) at the King of Prussia store. The staff was knowledgeable and genuinely tried to help make the purchase go smoothly. The problems started when I got the camera home. I opened the box and discovered things were missing. The cover was torn from the instruction book, the screen protector and USB cable were missing. I took a test shot and looked at the meta data on the raw file and was alarmed to find the camera shutter had been activated 5334 times. I thought this camera was new. To compare, I checked the meta data on the most recent picture I took with my D 7100. I have had this camera for three years. I have photographed a wedding, 2 christenings and numerous family gatherings with this camera and only managed to activate the shutter 1871 times. I give them kudos for immediately refunding my money, but the whole incident was troubling. They tried to make it right by offering me complementary accessories, but I could not bring myself to accept. It is hard for me to imagine how such a hard used camera could be sold as new for almost $3000. Buyers should beware. I strongly recommend you check the shutter release count on any camera you buy from this merchant. read more

I have been assisted by Scott at the Lansdale store several times over the last 3 years and he has always been extremely helpful. Although I am located in the western United States I continue to go back to Cardinal camera for my big camera purchases due to their friendly and extremely helpful service. They have helped me out when I needed something quickly several times and they have always given me a great deal. I was recently searching for an Olympus E-M1 Mark iii to replace my Mark ii that I sold sooner than I planned. I needed the replacement quickly for an upcoming trip and they came through when multiple big name camera shops across the nation and local shops did not. I highly recommend them! read more

I was looking for an x100v and due to the chip shortage, I was unable to find this camera at any of the major online retailers. Fortunately, after browsing through forums, someone had mentioned this place and I decided to give them a call. To my surprise they had it available in the color that I wanted. The sales associate, Shane, was very helpful in the process. He put the camera aside when I told him I was going to order it online and within fifteen minutes sent me a copy of the UPS label. A few days ago my husband and I googled a camera store near us because we were looking to stop in and get some basic information on how to work my new camera. We found Cardinal Camera and thank God we did! We initially met Shane who was quiet but very nice. Then Claire came over to help us then eventually Kurt. They not only educated us in the basics but they went far above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable with getting a great photo when we departed. Claire was amazing and shared her history and knowledge in depth about her photography experiences and what she's learned working with Kurt and Shane. They have camera classes, people come in to talk with them and more. The store itself is setup visually appealing and they have everything one needs. We went in with the 2 subpar lenses that came with the camera and came out with a master lens that I've had nothing but compliments on from others with more experience than us. All 3 of them vouched for the lens we left with ensuring, that as a beginner, I wouldn't grow out of this lens for years to come. They are fair and work with you on what you have vs what you need. They were more than customer oriented and friendly; they were helpful, warm, kind and welcoming. They never made us feel rushed and frankly spent a couple of hours with us. This is the beginning of a great relationship for years to come, just like the lens will last for years to come. There is NO OTHER PLACE, whether it be a doctors office, an electronics store, a camera store, grocery store, bank nor any other industry where our experience has been more than pleasant. Absolutely horrible service! Spoke to the owner about an expensive camera that was bought on Amazon and never delivered. Ups made a mistake and after 5 days of investigation, sent a pdf and email confirming it. UPS is FULLY reimbursing the seller due to the item never arriving and they are refusing to refund me because of the A to Z claim denial. I initially had no evidence when I started the claim (my first ever) due to the UPS investigation taking 5 days so the claim was denied initially until ups admitted fault and was willing to fully reimburse. Now they want to keep my money and told me to stop calling. I'm shocked people like this exist. Time to call my credit card company. After I reminded Greentoe how useless they are, they contacted this merchant and they finally and for the first time contacted me and made an excuse due to the lens manufacturer's production situation so on and so forth. Is that an excuse? How pathetic is that? It means they did not have the item which they got paid for in their stock! And after that they just went silent, keeping the money. I don't know how else to describe such business/individuals but to call them fraud! In their response, the merchant asked if I wanted a refund. I replied yes! make the refund. Guess what? Merchant never made the refund. I expected that and anticipated that and I got my money back from Paypal. This merchant is nothing but a fraud and con artists. When I placed my order for a Canon 5D through Amazon, Cardinal was the independent retailer that took my order. For the most part I am a loyal Amazon customer and typically find their service good. As an Amazon customer I've come to expect fast shipping but in this case Cardinal took their sweet time. Also, could have got a better deal through BH Photo, my regular photo supplier, as for the same price they would have included a 16GB card. BH also seems to get my orders out faster. To their credit the item was as described, no funny business and no high pressure up-sell as you might find with some stores. read more

I am very impressed with the staff at Cardinal Camera (Lansdale Store). Shane, Scott, and Kurt have gone way over the top to help me with my most recent Sony A7R IV camera purchase and some Sigma lenses. They are very professional, and I trust anything they tell me for what is the best camera to buy or what accessories are best needed. It takes me 1 and 1/2 hrs to get to their store from my house, and I must tell you that it's worth the drive to know that I will have a great shopping experience (Friendly & knowledgeable staff, great prices, and plenty of inventory) I highly recommend shopping here!!! read more

I ordered a very in demand Fuji camera from Cardinal Camera after seeing it available on their website, an item that is backordered for 2 months or unavailable at most other stores - it is impossible to get unless you spend extra $$ for a used one on Ebay. When I saw the item on their site, I was able to speak with the owner using a chat feature on the site, and he confirmed the availability of the item and the date it would be arriving at their store/would be shipped to me. It was a miracle to be able to find this camera available, I could not find it available at any other stores - and the owner was nice enough to ship me one of only a few that came to the store. I was most definitely impatient about the order because of the low availability of the item and I was nervous about actually getting it, and the owner was nice enough to respond to my texts asking for updates and was very accommodating in spite of my impatience, and was gracious when I was a bit over demanding. I received the item quickly, within a few business days of ordering. It was a good shopping experience and I am happy to have this camera which I would not have been able to get if not for Cardinal Camera! read more

Cardinal was able to take my old VHS tapes and convert them to DVDs flawlessly. I even had one VHS that had a completely severed tape strip and they were able to fix it for an extra fee. This is the most reasonably priced VHS conversion company I've found in the area. I can't wait to go back and convert the rest of our collection! read more

Worst internet purchase experience ever. I received a wrong mount for a lens I ordered. Try to contact them many times through multiple means but they gave me zero proper response. My solution was to resolve the issue through my credit card company. Stay far away from Cardinal Camera or at very least stay away from the Pennsylvania store. Details: Order Sigma 70-200mm Canon mount but got Nikon Mount on 06/01/2020. Email them on the same day but I didn't get any response so I have to call them. After 3 days, I call them twice but each call lasts less than a minute because Kurt (the person pick up the phone) keeps telling me that he will get back to me and hang up. 06/05/2020, I finally got an email from another person name Cheryl with a return shipping label. Again, I've packed the lens and ship it back on the same day. According to the return tracking, they got their lens back on 06/09/2020. It has been more than a week now, I have yet got any sort of notification about either a replacement lens or a refund. I did try to contact them 6 more times, Kurt still keeps hanging up on me and Cheryl just stop taking to my call completely. And now, filing dispute through my credit card company is my last and only option. read more

I don't even know where to start. I stopped into their Charlotte location figuring I would give them a chance. I was told it would take a week to process my film as it needed to be shipped out to PA. Okay no problem. A week goes by and I hear nothing, I called and kept getting the "still not in" so after a week and a half I called their main store to see what was going on. Apparently their scanner broke for a few days, which they could have notified those waiting on their film. Okay...annoying but at least everything's up and running again. I gave them my credit card info and was told they would mail to me. Well after two weeks of waiting for my film, I finally get it in the mail. I pop the disc in to download the photos and see dust spots all over them. Looks like their scanner was super dirty. They aren't usable at all unless I do some extensive photoshop. I'm now going to have to go to my local spot and have them rescan them. I should have just used them from the beginning but figured it would be nice to give another camera store my business. The employees were nice but I don't believe that makes up for everything that happened. What a waste of time and money. read more

Delightful find. Not at all local or familiar to me. I live and work near the two humongous camera stores in NYC and usually I've just wandered in and picked up what I need at a competitive price (if they're open). But for a special purchase at a special price (large lens) on this occasion Cardinal came through on all counts. An accidental find, really, as I was researching availability and reviews via Amazon and came across a listing from the Cardinal storefront. I used the phone, actually, wanting to be sure they were advertising (with a good price) a fully US-warranty item, as I'd hope given their being an authorized dealer. Answer, yes. In stock? Yes. Can I get it quickly? Not only yes, but overnight. On them. The lens arrived at my door the very next morning, original new package, with serials etc (already registered), tested and found to be perfect. All good. I really appreciate their assistance and good will and even being in the heart of camera-sales land where most things can be easily found, they've now become my go-to for comparison in price and availability, and based on this I'm duly impressed with their speed, service & pricing. read more

Buyer Beware! I purchased a battery and charger for an upcoming trip, when I tried to return the item 5 days later I was told that I couldn't because they do not return batteries and chargers. This was not disclosed PRIOR to the sale, it was written on the receipt that was placed in the bag. The owner, Kurt Seelig, was rude and interrupted me as I was trying to explain my situation, finally yelled at me, "Your not getting your money back, you can get a store credit." then hung up. Prices are not disclosed in the store until you check out, nowhere in the store is there any notification of a return policy. They will hide behind the fact that something is written on the receipt. A receipt that is not provided until after the sale, the receipt is not offered to you, it is placed in the bag. read more

I brought a camera lens through greentoe from cardinal camera. They never sent a receipt when they shipped the order, now I have to send it for warranty repair and the manufacturer is asking for sales receipt. I called them and asked for a receipt. The guy I spoke with took all the details and said he has my email and will send the receipt right away. Three weeks have gone and I didn't receive anything, so I called to find out what's going on. The guy told me to send an email to Cheryl. I told him we already spoke and you guys already have my email, he cut me short and rudely told me I don't have time to discuss what happened earlier and hung up on me without even giving me the email address. So I had to call again and the next guy who I spoke with was very polite and texted me the email address. I post my reviews on google, but it looks like these guys have removed their google profile, probably because of all the poor reviews. I should have done my due diligence. Now I will wait and see how long it will take for them to send me the receipt. read more

I used to recommend Greentoe and Cardinal Camera, I will now advise against using that company. Cardinal Camera is Greentoe's supplier for Sony cameras and many other types of camera equipment. I have now had multiple instances of terrible customer service. They take FOREVER to ship. In fact, I had a client purchase 2 Canon EOS R cameras, a Panasonic GH5, and a Black Magic 6K cinema camera from Cardinal Camera paid during the first week of June. 2 months after the payment was made, my client had one box shipped to him, with one EOS RP in the box - not at all what he had ordered. I called their manager, Kurt, and he is very rude. He is poor at communicating, and is always quick to make excuses. We finally filed a PayPal dispute and won our money back. Completely UNACCEPTABLE. Needless to say, I will no longer recommend using Greentoe or Cardinal Camera for the purchase of camera equipment. Very disappointing, because they gave me the best price when I bought my 1DX Mark III and some lenses from them a while back. You don't get greeted, no one asks you if you need anything, there aren't prices on anything, you'll wait forever for someone to help to you and when you get to the checkout you will be treated like you're inconveniencing them. What makes it worse is that their prices are jacked up way higher than their competitors like B&H and Adorama. Sales and customer service is a dead art form here.
