Negative stars would be too many. Originally came here because of a vet that is no longer there and retired. She was great. Now everything sucksssssss. They treat both our pets like they're a rabid dinosaur or something. My dog is little and afraid sometimes so instead of treating him properly the vet LITERALLY drug him by his neck and leash out of the room. They called us about our cat and basically told us he was going to die, then we talk to the actual vet and tells us something completely different. They have blind sided us with pay at least 3-5 times. We showed up to pay one visit and it was 700$ extra tha what they quoted us. They refused to give us the paper work the insurance was asking for and were rude about it, never gave us help with insurance. We actually paid over 400$ to visits that shoulda be reimbursed because we spent 3 months trying to get receipts that they literally couldn't figure out. On top of this the front desk is incredibly rude and not there for you help our your pets convenience. Made us feel uncomfortable and ready to leave. They also forgot to give us back multiple items left with our cat and we had to go back to get them, and they threatened to throw them away if we didn't come on their time even though they forgot every single item he came in with. Also made us bring in our cat for an appointment like 4 hours early so they could just keep him in a cage for their convenience. And then they kept him like 3 hours later because people were late. Their mistakes become your problem and they very clearly don't care about you, your financial situation, your pets, or their care. They care about their money and that's it. Do yourself a favor look else where and get your pets to people who care. read more

Major kudos and thanks to Dr Karns, and the treatment team, who took the time to address all of my concerns, was compassionate and made reasonable and affordable recommendations to help my pets stay as comfortable and as healthy as possible at their age. We cannot recommend Care more. We found Care at the end of both of our dogs lives and felt cared for, for their last years, as well as through our final goodbyes. We've been at Care for 4+ years and can't say enough about the vets, techs, and support staff. Nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Gilbert, Dr. Gordon, and recently Dr. Alberg. Staff often call to follow-up after visits and the vets are always willing to take the extra time to talk or email to explain things. If I could give this place zero reviews I would. This place is such a joke! I've been going there with my dog because they were reasonable on pricing. But it is past Covid times and they did not allow me to go in with my dog. I asked for a price quote before they took my dog back, and I had agreed to it... Next thing you know they sent me an email with an additional amount of money that I needed to owe on services I did not agree to. They gave my dog additional shots that I did not agree to and I had called to dispute the charges as I was not allowed back there with my dog, so I had no idea what they were doing to her. Now, I just called to make an appointment with my new puppy, and they said that they can't schedule me anymore because I have "red flag "on my account because I tried to dispute a charge over a year ago! So far at Care Animal Hospital, we've received nothing but the utmost respect and fantastic care for our animals. We are a 4 cat family with 2 purebred Maine Coons and 2 wonderful tabby cats. Sadly, we have to put our 19 year old down this Saturday, and I fully trust the competence and the ability of the Vets and the staff at Care Animal Hospital. In December we'll be adding another Maine Coon to our family and he will also be going here for all his Veterinary needs. As for the comment about the "gay" flags and political stuff, my family has different values than are displayed by the business for sure. We are a Christian family who believe in the traditional nuclear values. That being said, I have NEVER felt rejected or bothered by the way that Care Animal Hospital conducts it's business. EVERYONE there is kind and focuses on what is important, the health and well-being of your animal. No one pushes any agenda in your face and there is no disrespect of what I believe shown. Dr. Gilbert was recommended to me from a fellow dog owner when I first adopted my puppy from a shelter. She had a rough start to life (was sick in the shelter for a while) and doctor Gilbert made me feel confident in her recovery and her future. The techs are great and Dr. Gilbert always gets right on the floor to be covered in puppy kisses and get up close and personal for the exam. I had a tech appointment for a vaccine and other information came to light, so Dr. Gilbert came out to talk to me, gave me a good 15minutes of his time unscheduled, and answered all my neurotic new-mom questions. OH, noo... I called CARE on 5/23, at 2:11 pm, and made an appointment for my cat, on Friday 5/26, at 5:15, to check his kidney values. It was a 6-minute call. The woman who helped me, said there would be an exam fee as well, as they did not just have a 'blood-draw' appointment, which was fine. She said we would need to wait in the car, and they would take my cat back. As I was pulling up, I called to let them know we were showing up for the appointment, and she politely let me know, we didn't have one. I reminded her of when I called, including the day and minute, as her voice sounded the familiar, but she said, they don't record the calls. They had nothing on the books, including our name, or phone number. They mixed my cat up with another, whose name I won't list, but received, somehow. It's a type of flower. They wasted our time going there, and would not accommodate their own mistake. They confused my ca, with someone else's. They challenged whether or not I 'really' made the appointment with them, who was the only one on my call list, and the only vet I called. They are STILL on my call list. There was no 'mistake'. Let me ask you, how confident would you be that your cat was well cared for, at a hospital that dropped your appointment, wouldn't accommodate you, and already confused your pet, with someone else's?? Wow, I don't know what more I could say about Dr. Gilbert, Dani and the staff at Care Animal Hospital. Dr. Gilbert has been our vet for the last 4ish years. He helped us keep our cat, Morris, alive for 1.5 years after being diagnosed with kidney failure and was the most amazing person to help guide his passing. Dani, was our go-to cat person when we needed help with Morris and was encouraging and kind as we navigated his needs. Just 2 days ago we had to say goodbye to our Sophie - the most amazing and loving dog we could have asked for. Dr. Gilbert was there with us again as we tried to prolong her life as much as we could and was there when we had to say goodbye. He was incredibly patient as we worked through what would be best for Sophie. I felt like he always provided the best available care to Sophie (and Morris). During these last 4 years, Dr. Gilbert was available, kind, and willing to take the time on the phone and in person to answer my questions. There were multiple times with my senior pup that I had emailed questions and he was also quick to answer those. We had late night and last minute vet needs that he was willing to accommodate knowing our animals were elderly. We suspected we had the best vet, but losing Sophie and Morris in the last 6 months really proved that he is. Thank you for helping us and our three children be great caretakers of our Sophie (13.5 yrs old) and Morris (about 18yrs). They surely wouldn't have lived such a wonderful life without your care! Sad but this used to be our go to vet. Our dogs got into a tiff and they saw us last time. Was more than pleased with them. Not this time. Put me on hold for a few minutes to come back and tell me to go to an animal urgent care. Same thing happened as before and they wouldn't see us this time. Unfortunately this business has not handled itself well over the last several years. I was a customer of this animal hospital for many years when it was under the prior ownership of Dr Paige Garnett. It was a much better facility under the prior ownership. I showed up with both of my cats for their appointments to find out that only an appointment had been made for one of the cats. It was a simple check up and would have been easy for them to see both cats at the same time, but when they told me they could not see the other cat it was really the last straw of events that forced me to cancel my "Paw Plan" and future appointments with this location. I still had several services that were due to my cats at this point in time however I would rather waste the money and take my cats to a better ran vet clinic. Unfortunately they let their political views cross into the presentation of the business. They were overly aggressive with protocols during Covid and unfortunately it is ridiculous that as of June 2022 you're still not allowed in the building without a mask and not allowed in the lobby for a pet drop off. I suggest trying a different animal hospital where they don't treat you like a walking disease. read more

AVOID. Sorry but the used car salesman approach to taking care of your pet doesn't do it for me. They add every possible charge they can to your bill (like $45 to "irrigate" the cut, meaning they rinsed it with water) and know you're going to pay it because you love your pet. Sad to say we only had the need to visit Care because our little kitteh had to go to an emergency vet one night (he almost died) and they recommended we take him to Care the next day. We spoke to Dr. Garnett who comes accross as a very caring but no- nonsense doctor. She told us his prognosis was grim, but they kept him overnight to see what they could do. His symptoms were all over the chart so both Dr. Garnett and Dr. O'Rourke (emergency vet) weren't sure what was wrong with him. He did come home two days later and seemed to be better, but yesterday his little heart finally gave out. Everyone at this hospital seems to really love animals and are very professional. It seems the kitteh was very underweight , which we did not know as he was our first. For this I have to blame a vet at Arvada West Veterinary Hospital who shall remain nameless. She did his "well kitten" check up as required by the breeder but failed to mention he has extremely underweight. We are also wondering if the breeder (who shall also remain nameless) should have known he was too small for his age but sold him to us anyway. From what both vets told us he probably either had a serious feline virus or a defective liver. Anyway, when we do get our next pet (it will be a while) we will make sure they get any care they need from Dr. Garnett or one of the other excellent vets in her office. read more

There is no better animal hospital in my opinion. Care is the only place Cristina and I will take our 3 dogs. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and professional. The doctors are the most caring and competent i've ever encountered. What's more, the doctors really care about the animals and take the time to call and check on them. All the docs are great but our favorite is Dr. Molliconi. She is awesome and very caring. Any time i have a question I email it to Dr. Molliconi and she always responds. We have never been treated so wonderfully by a vet care staff! Care Animal Hospital came highly recommended by a colleague and yet we were still skeptical. We always feel screwed coming out of the vet's and we never leave without a huge bill. However, the receptionist was kind and quick, the vet tech Mary was so nice to us and our geriatric large breed dog, and Dr. Molliconi took extra time to explain the special care we needed for our dog and thoroughly explained all our options and next steps. This was after an extremely thorough examination. (I once took my cat to a vet where they pulled him out of his box, injected him with a vaccine, put him back in the box, then charged me a $50 exam fee on top of the cost of the vaccination. Some exam, huh? This partially explains my previous vet skepticism.) We had the opposite experience as the negative reviewer before us- they have awesome care plans that make premium vet care affordable and they explained them without pressuring us. When they offered vaccinations and treatments we weren't interested in, we declined and they gracefully accepted without judgment. At the end of our visit, we were contemplating if one of the care plans was right for us, so we asked the vet for her feedback. She answered honestly that for what we needed, the plans didn't make sense and we should pay as we go. The clinic certainly would've made more off of us if they had talked us into a plan, but they cared more about us and our dog than their pocketbooks. On top of all this, we had to have a pretty serious talk about the quality of life for our dog and when we should consider our end-of-life options. The doctor was compassionate, upfront, and provided practical advice for moving forward. To say we were grateful to have wandered through their doors for this difficult conversation is an understatement. For the first time in my lifetime of having dogs, I didn't even blink twice when they told me the cost at the front desk. Not because it was the cheapest place I've ever been (although it was reasonable), but because every penny was worth it. read more

Well, I love this place. I have lost 3 cats and 1 dog through the years with them. In fact, Dr Donna, saw my dog as a pup, when she was working at Mesa in Applewood. I think she is the best of the best. Okay, it is almost a tie with Dr Garnet. She let me bring my family dog home back in 2004 for at home hospice care. It really meant a lot. We have been coming to CARE Animal Hospital since moving to Colorado in 2011, and my dogs love Dr. Molliconi. She takes the time to address all of my questions and concerns, and I never feel rushed or like she is too busy. I trust her opinion and value her input when making decisions about our dogs' care. It's also very helpful that Dr. Molliconi uses treats and a calm voice to help my pups feel more comfortable. We love her! The office staff and other doctors are very welcoming, too. They are so helpful when I have questions and make every effort to fit us in if anything comes up that I'm worried about. I was so impressed and grateful for the care given to our sweet kitty on July 5th, a very busy day for this animal hospital. Our cat had a uretheral obstruction, and despite their booked up schedule, they got us in immediately and took great care of our cat, Tang. He was in need of further medical attention for the next few days, so they also completed comprehensive, detailed records for us to take with him on transfer to overnight care at Animal Urgent Care. After Tang was discharged, Care followed up with us and welcomed any questions or concerns. They are sincere, compassionate, professional, understanding, and simply amazing. Animal Care ... Cares. We have Boston Terrier Brothers that are 11 and 8 months old. Dudley and Dexter absolutely hated going to the doctor before we found Dr. Gilbert. The staff and Doctor will be dearly missed as we have to move out of Colorado and will have to find another suitable person to trust with the love of our lives our furbabies. The week of May 4th while packing to move and setting up for a moving sale, my 11 year old Boston Terrior Dexter Sir Snoop Alot became not so spunky, didn't want to walk or eat and had a cough. We called Care Animal Hospital and the staff and Dr Gilbert said bring him in right now. My husband took him in and brought home the news no mama wants to hear ever. Sadly, Dex has not got long to live, but I know in my heart he had a great life and truly enjoyed coming to see Dr. Gilbert and will be taken care of appropriately when the time comes. We highly recommend this practice as they have always been there when we have needed them in an emergency and never turned us away due to no appointment. 2 years ago, my Boston's front paw swelled up like a balloon. We made several trips to the hospital to try and figure out what it was. The staff and Dr. Gilbert were like detectives trying to pin point the cause. The culprit ended up being a foxtail embedded deep in his front paw. Through the time spent as miserable for him as it was, this hospital took the extra care for him each time we came in to made it less painful also never gave up until a resolution was found. It's going to be hard to find such a caring staff and awesome doctors in North Carolina. We will miss you immensely, Dr Gilbert and your amazing care for our boys the last 7 years. They care very much for your pets, discuss all possibilities and tell you realistically what options are the best given the situation. I was certain on my most recent visit for my dogs injured neck they would want to take X-rays. The doctor said it was an available option, but he didn't feel it was necessary. It took me a lot of research and three different vets before I found Care Animal Hospital, and I am very happy with the results so far. While I'm lucky that my Lily hasn't required anything beyond a spay, she is recovering nicely and they took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I compared Lily's incision line to common pictures from the same procedure on the internet and it seems like hers is in the "neat as can be, as close to perfect as there is" category. There is no redness or infection, no open spots or missed suture, and the area is healing well. When I became concerned after noticing some normal swelling, I was able to bring her in half an hour after the morning phone call (!) for a quick check free of charge. The Vet and assistant were kind, gentle, and thorough; they listened carefully to my concerns and gave straightforward answers. I feel comfortable and welcome, but even more important I trust them to take great care of Lily. Definitely recommending them to all my friends and coworkers. read more

I wrote a review for Care earlier today, about our dog's records not properly being combed through prior to his first visit to their office. Long story short - we adopted our pup, had his records from his previous home, took him to Care the first week we got him and Care gave him a vaccine that he was already up-to-date on (which was in his records). The reason I am editing my review and adding a star, is because the Dr. called me after seeing my review, took ownership of the mistake and gave a sincere apology. That goes a LONG way in my book. I can tell that they really do care for the pets they see, and sometimes might get too busy to read every last detail/or might just miss something (we're all human! --well, except for our beloved critters!). Huge kudos to them for owning their mistake and kindly apologizing. I would give them another shot - but our new vet is much closer. Will certainly keep Care in mind if we are ever unfortunate enough to have a pet-emergency. read more

We most recently started seeing Dr. Gilbert, and he is absolutely terrific. He explains everything so thoroughly, and you can tell he genuinely cares. I think they are competent, knowledgeable, and up to date with technology. I also think they are very pricey and sometimes I feel the Drs are reading to me out of a text book. They take their time with you and do not rush you out of the office, which helps you to feel they actually care about you and your pets. The staff is all courteous and polite. Our two-year-old shepherd mix had some nasty symptoms which appeared on a Friday and had worsened significantly by Sunday morning. Other nearby vets not being open on Sunday, and Care getting great reviews here and on Google, we took our dog to Care. The entrances/waiting areas for dogs and cats are separate--an example of the clinic's thoughtfulness. Without an appointment and with abbreviated check-in, we were in an exam room within 15 minutes. Vet Tech Mary behaved like a doctor: professional, calm, knowledgeable, empathetic, and able to answer our questions easily and confidently. Dr. Mitchell, as well, and the two treated our very timid, recently rescued dog with patience and caring through the unpleasantness of temperature check, heartrate check, palpations, and then intravenous hydration. A stool sample disproved possible causes of the symptoms; Dr. Mitchell prescribed an anti-nausea med and an antibiotic and (unprompted) asked for updates. Tapeworms--lots of them, and mature--had been thriving in our dog's gut, but no sign of them was apparent until the next day. I called Care and asked to speak to Dr. Mitchell. Without question or trying to answer mine, Dani (front office) put the doctor on the phone. She (Mitchell) listened carefully, and immediately prescribed a de-wormer. When I reached the clinic, I had other questions; I waited a few minutes, and the doctor came out of surgery and directly to me with answers. (She was pretty excited about the--disgusting--tapeworm samples I brought, and, in the fashion of a true scientist who loves her job, went to show them off to her colleagues.) With the medication, signs of the tapeworm infestation disappeared over the next few days, and in that time Care accepted our dog's previous vet record via email. We had an overall very good experience: open on Sunday, express check-in, genuine caring from staff, the doctor being available via phone and in person, the follow-up card they mailed--CVH did go above and beyond. I wavered between 4- and 5-star ratings, given that the doctor didn't detect the root cause of the symptoms, which were unquestionable the next day. I landed on 5, given that our dog's case was very rare: a heavy infestation with none of the usual symptoms unique to her condition. Going forward, both of our dogs will be Care clients. read more

This company does not deserve 1 star!! I called and spoke to somone, (who unfortunately I did not get her name),which I am upset with myself for. I was told to bring my daughter's guinea pig at 6:30pm. I was quoted $130. I was told to call once I got there. Once we arrived I called as instructed to be told they could not take him. To go to another vet hospital whom I called already and was told they do not cremate. I was then told maybe they use a third party. I have a deceased Pig in my car. My daughter who is devasted enough is crying in the car and just traveled from Aurora. Now we have to take Ollie the guinea pig and put him back in the freezer. What's worse is I was asked if I am an existing client. Um no! I will be a new client who would bring my elderly Chihuahua's once they pass. This clinic is heartless and need to train their staff better. THEY HAD NO COMPASSION WHATSOEVER!!! read more

I've been taking my two dogs here for a few years now, and every time I go I am still surprised with the interactions that I have. Recently I noticed one of my dogs had some sort of eye/ear infection so I called to make an appointment on Wednesday and they got me in on Saturday. Yodin isn't a huge fan of the vet, but the techs as well as the vet make it about as pleasant as they can and never make him uncomfortable. I saw Dr. Clark, and she was fantastic as always. I have visited her in the past about these chronic ear infections and she seemed to remember just like it was yesterday. She gave Yodin a whole physical workup and then explained that we needed to swab his ears for cytology and check his eyes with flouro for an ulcer. No unexpected costs here, she told me everything that she was going to do and did exactly that. She also mentioned that he had a mild heart murmur, probably due to his age, and said an echo would be good to confirm, but wasn't necessarily needed at this time. It is so refreshing to not get pressured for services that are not needed. After we found out was going on, she got his medication and explained to me very thoroughly how to treat him over the next few weeks. I was there for a little more than an hour, but everything got taken care of that I was hoping for! When I got up to the front to pay, I was honestly expecting a bit more, but needless to say, $240 for everything including all his medications isn't bad at all. I have never seen them price gouge here, and for that I am utterly thankful. They also give you the option of printing or emailing the outline of your visit, which includes a little discharge summary for your pet, as well as an itemized bill, so you can see exactly what you were charged for. Today (Monday) I received a phone call from reception just checking in to make sure his eyes and ears were doing better, and to give them a call if I needed anything. That is the sweetest little gesture that may not seem like much, but really shows that the staff at this clinic really do care about the welfare of your animal.
