The actual brunch buffet had leftover dinner items that I have had before. For the amount of money they charge (they raised their rates in 22 due to gas prices going up?) the food has been okay at best and just bad most of the time - frozen vegetables, frozen entrees- no flavor - overcooked. Last night we waited over 30 minutes for my mother's burnt beef dish and my husband and I had dry salmon not served the way it was described with frozen vegetable mix and what tasted like a box rice mix - not the wild rice I had ordered. I would compare lunches to a bad Panera experience. The bright side - they get cookies on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons ! Yea! Cookies!

I called many other facilities that had a continuum of care and they all said that our mother would be skilled nursing (because she requires help transferring and dressing) which would be $6,000+ per month for a shared one room. St. Agnes said they thought they could get her to improve and be more independent and they were right. Here she has her own studio apartment. They are genuinely concerned about all aspects (physical, mental and spiritual) of our mother's wellbeing. She has been here only a month and we have already seen a physical and mental improvement in her. The nuns are very compassionate and coordinate every aspect of her care.

The nursing home recommended this firm and they did not disappoint. Not only were they helpful in understanding Medicaid, they did so with compassion and trust. The money we spent on legal fees was well worth it; especially when it came to managing assets and determining which we could keep in the estate and those which would have to go towards their care. Mark and his team were friendly and never pressured us to make decisions. While initially not understanding the Medicaid process, this firm helped us make decisions that looking back, really did provide us a benefit. We did not have a large financial estate to deal with, so it was even more important for us to get the right answers. We went to the right firm. A stressful situation was eased by us seeking their help. I would highly recommend them.

No staff means no shower, or the loved ones have to spend hours tracking down staff so we can harrass them for a shower. The food is absolute crap. Bread is often stale, out of everything all the time. "Sunday dinner" this week was a cold ham sandwich. Yum! another night it was ham and beans. Did I mention that my mom is paying $12,600/month for this joke of a nursing home? But the biggest issue has been the absolute mis-management - probably bordering fraud - of my mom's meds, which keep her alive. She didnt receive half of her bp meds in January. Stopped receiving her thyroid pills, also. At the end of February, she stopped receiving a vaginal cream that she is supposed to have each night. She went about 2 weeks without it. The nurse told me they were "out of it", but was "on order". The next day, the state pharmacy confirmed that none had been ordered; it was 5 days later when it was finally re-ordered. During this time, her medical records showed that she had been given it every night when they didnt even a new bottle of it. Sounds like fraud to me - doctoring the records to show sonething took place, when it had not. I know of at least one employee who left bc she was unconfortable doing what the new owners were asking her to do - said she could lose her nusing license. At least 30% of residents have moved out. I have no idea why others continue to move their relatives here for short-term rehab. The care and food are both a joke.

The staffing is now at a minimum and she is parked in the wheelchair in front of the television. If a call light is activated for assistance, it usually isn't answered. OMG... My mother-in-law lived at Hawthorne Place Assisted Living apartments for over 2 years. It…read morewas wonderful. The apt was comfortable and decent size. We were lucky enough to be able to wait for a patio apt to become available, which for our 'Oma/Mom' made all the difference for her as she was a big time nature lover. The gardening is gorgeous. The STAFF IS AMAZING from Lisa in the front office to CNAs to nurses and house cleaning. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH NICE THINGS! They worked so hard to ensure that 'Mom' was not only well cared for, but loved!! And when the end came near, they so kindly worked with us during Mom's short time in hospice, we were able to keep her in her home until she passed. We will be FOREVER grateful to everyone at HP. We all actually MISS seeing everyone regularly, including other residents. They became friends. :-)

Our Mother absolutely loved her night care assistant and so…read moredid we. We had peace of mind knowing that our Mother was so well taken care of. We learned at 1:00 p.m. that we needed care for our Mother that same night. We called Home Care Assist at 1:00 and they met with us at 3:00 the same day. They were able to have a night care giver that same night. After that, our Mother had the same care giver every night, Monday through Friday. Different care givers came on the weekends. They were very dependable and punctual with their service. If there were any changes in the schedule the company communicated well with us. We would feel very comfortable recommending the services of this company to anyone who needs assistance.
