I, too, have been treated here, by Theresa but also by the other PT's (Heather and Sally in particular) on staff, mostly for back and neck pain.

My neurologist referred me specifically to Imelda and I have been grateful ever since. Shortly after I started PT at PhysioPartners, I began to experience some pain relief. I was given a comprehensive home routine that I followed. I did not ever think I would be relieved of the neck pain and I am glad that I do not have it often. I would not be honest if I said I was completely pain free. I sometimes get flare ups and the vast majority of the time the home exercises help relieve the pain. Imelda is a McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy clinician. I am grateful for her proficiency in this method because it definitely helps my spine conditions. I recently started physical therapy again. The orthopedic specialist I see told me to work with Imelda again for my spine, lower back pain and nerve pain. PT is helping me quite a bit. I was given new exercises to add to my home routine that are helping me improve and strengthen. From the time I walk through the front door to when I leave, I do not feel rushed. My questions are answered. Imelda confirms that I understand my protocol and instructions. The facility is wonderful and has quite a bit of equipment and classes offered if needed. I am very grateful to Imelda and PhysioPartners. I've shared Imelda's and PhysioPartners' information with friends and colleagues.

Imelda was the first provider who used a truly holistic approach to my care. While other PTs had only focused on my head and neck, Imelda quickly understood that my scoliosis was connected to my migraines and her treatment plan was comprehensive. I've had a very positive experience with Imelda and highly recommend her for physical therapy. She is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic, and thorough. I understand my body and triggers much better after working with her. My migraine frequency and scoliosis pain have improved tremendously.

I quickly setup an appointment because I was struggling with hand, forearm, and leg pain. It was kind of like going to the mechanic and you finding out more stuff is wrong as you dive deeper into the initial issue you came in for. From my first session to my last the staff was so friendly and motivational. I was obviously scared that I waited too long to get my issues addressed but they reassured me that I could improve if I put in the work during my sessions and outside of them. I primarily worked with Max but I worked with a few others if my visit time didn't coincide with his schedule but 80% of my sessions were with him. I would highly recommend Max! He helped me realize a lot of my issues were due to me needing to gain strength and he taught me so many exercises I could do on my own. I really like that Muscle & Joint Physical Therapy tries to ensure you stay working with your primary therapist. It felt less like I was just my insurance number and more like a valued client. He remembered things from our last conversation and I was able to build on my treatment plan because I didn't have to explain my issues to a new person each time. I worked with Muscle & Joint Physical Therapy for a little over a month and a half before l graduated from needing to go to the facility. I left the facility feeling so much more confident and educated on my body. I truly cannot remember the last time I had leg and foot pain (unfortunately the pain temporarily moved to my foot when I increased my workout). My hand pain is minimal and slowly disappearing the stronger I get. I highly recommend checking out Muscle & Joint Physical Therapy. Even if you have small pain it really helps getting an expert to look at it. I literally had a 20-30 weight difference that I could handle between my left hand and right hand before I sought out help!

I am a veteran of PT rehab stints having had two hip replacements, two rotator cuff surgeries, and one hip labrum tear surgery over the past 25+ years. I believe I know a thing or two about effective PT therapy. Not to take anything away from Athletico, who treated all of my above issues, the Elevate PT team is a significant cut above the typical PT practice. What stands them apart is their deep attentiveness to proper form and function, plus utilizing a frequent change of protocol to both challenge me and keep me motivated. Shivani's goal is not to just get me back to some sort of "status quo", but to make lasting improvements that leaves me better off than before my arrival at her practice. She also taught me many things that I could incorporate on my own to better manage my lower back issues, and those have proven to be quite useful. She pointed out and fixed things wrong with my gait and posture that no one had ever pointed out to me before. Her knowledge and ability to present it in non medical terms is really terrific. All the while doing this with an incredibly friendly and fun demeanor. After all was said and done, I was so impressed with Elevate's practice that I sent my wife there who unfortunately fractured her femur (surgery, rods and screws...the whole works) shortly after I completed my stint. She is working with both Shivani and Maneesha and is thrilled with the treatment she is receiving. What better recommendation could there be than sending a family member?

After those six weeks, I was moved to a short-leg cast, and was referred to physical therapy to start range-of-motion (ROM) exercises. Never having been to PT, I did not know what to expect, but I saw this Athletico was close by, so I decided to try it out. I submitted a request for an appointment through their website, and received a call that same day from Elise. Elise was extremely helpful and ensured I got on their schedule right away. I started PT about two days per week, starting with ROM exercises, then moving on to weight-bearing, then running/jumping. All-in-all, since I did not have surgery, my recovery was much longer, but we got through everything starting in February, and I was discharged in October. I can't say enough great things about this Athletico location. I came in completely nervous about this experience, but Ryan and Mitch were able to calm my nerves immediately and they helped me along every step of this tough journey. Being in PT for eight months, you start to build a relationship with those helping you out, and that's extremely true when it comes to this Atheltico location - all the staff, from my physical therapist, Mitch, to the few sessions I attended with Ryan, along with the amazing assistants - Maggie, Olivia, and Maria who helped me along the way - I always felt like friends with all of them while I was here. While they maintain professionalism, they also ensure to treat you not just as a patient, but as a friend, and it's clear that they truly care and want to see you progress in the journey. While nobody really "enjoys" going to PT, I'd say the treatment, services, and staff at this location made me truly enjoy being there and working towards my goals of being back to 100%. From someone who came in on crutches and a knee scooter, doing exercises like moving my foot back-and-forth or picking up marbles with my toes, I'm now running, jumping, playing tennis again, biking, etc. I was even able to take a full walking tour through Italian villages and cities with no problem thanks to this amazing staff at Athletico. While I'm hoping I never have to come back in here (as I'm never trying skiing again), if I do have PT needs or know anyone who does, I will always recommend Athletico Lakeview East. Thank you, Mitch, Ryan, Elise, Maria, Maggie, Olivia, and the rest of the amazing staff I worked with, and alongside of, at Athletico Lakeview East.
