If you're considering going to PT for pelvic floor or other general PT help, then run (if you can), don't walk to Chicago Physical Therapists. This is a top notch practice with highly skilled and compassionate physical therapists. I went there for both prenatal and postpartum physical therapy (pelvic floor and other PT work). Before working with Meredy and Natalia, I had never had pelvic floor PT before. I knew I probably needed it but was nervous about getting that kind of therapy. Long story short: I should have gone to these therapists YEARS ago for pelvic floor PT before I ever got pregnant... they would have helped so much with general issues I was having! Prenatal PT: I contacted Chicago Physical Therapists in Spring 2022 late in my second trimester when I heard a "What to Expect" podcast about how beneficial pelvic floor PT could be for childbirth. After booking an initial consultation with Meredy, she encouraged me to double check with my OBGYN that it was okay to proceed with pelvic floor PT (my OBGYN said yes). Because Meredy was completely booked for over a month due to her high demand, I started PT work with Natalia, following a started a schedule of seeing either Natalia or Meredy up to near my due date. I really appreciated how excellent, respectful, and compassionate both therapists were. Natalia and Meredy kept their each other updated about my progress and there were no discrepancies in their care. I learned so much about how to relax the pelvic area to prepare for pushing a baby out, breathing techniques for relaxing for any cervical checks the doctors would do while I was in labor. When it came time for the real deal childbirth with a last minute unexpected labor induction, I was able to handle the internal exams and water breaking and delay pain medication (which was my desire) for most of the labor time. Postpartum PT: Meredy and Natalia were proactive in getting me scheduled as soon as possible for PT postpartum. Due to many non-physical factors I canceled some of the appointments and chose to not get examined until 3 months postpartum. In the interim, both therapists checked in with me to let me know that I could be added to the waitlist for openings if there were any appointment cancellations or to offer telehealth in case I was available or up for it. The postpartum therapy has been going great, with tips and exercises I can do at home to promote getting my pelvic floor, abdomen, and other out-of-whack parts of me restored post birth. Billing practices: I saw a negative Yelp review about billing practices and I wanted to share that I haven't had any issues at all. I receive emails with the totals to be charged, I have time to ask questions about the bills, and I consented to have convenient autopay when I was onboarded as a patient. The practice has worked seamlessly with my insurance to make sure there's no issues. Thanks to Meredy and Natalia... How could this practice have no reviews??!! These ladies are the absolute best. This is a female owned and run pt office that is very woman centered, or at least it feels that way to me. I love the genuine vibe of goodness and health here. I leave here feeling good in and out and that's why I return-- or will as soon as my children are in school in the fall. Children are welcome but I would do best with a break from my olders -- having it be just about me for an hour. I go to Alisha and have brushed shoulders with many other therapists here who are probably equally terrific. I do love Alisha, though-- she is professional and competent as well as interesting and has helped with my post children pelvic floor goals tremendously. This pt office is a big secret, apparently. Chicago Physical Therapists has been great, Dr. Lewan specifically. As someone with EDS & POTS, my issues are often dismissed or poorly understood. She has been incredibly validating, helpful, and has been so patient with my complex needs. Meredy Parker is a godsend! I had a severe birth injury with my first child, and had worked with another PT for six months with limited results. I found Meredy and everything changed. She understands both the physical and emotional body, and has been such a source of expertise and optimism through my entire healing process. She coordinated with the PPOD clinic at Northwestern as well as my psychotherapist to provide a holistic approach to my care, and I couldn't be more grateful for the way she's helped my body heal. I initially started seeing Meredy for pelvic floor therapy, which had been dismissed by other doctors for years. I've had a lot of success with treating myself thanks to the many tools provided to me at this PT practice. Fast forward FIVE years and Meredy has seen me through various ups and downs (including a breast cancer diagnosis and radical treatment). One thing remains, I can always count on Meredy to come up with a plan and to learn new techniques to accommodate me and other patients. I'm always provided with a detailed invoice that goes back the entirety of my history with the practice. And above all I know that Meredy and her entire team care deeply about their patients and their success much more than anything else. read more

I see Catherine Lewan and have learned so much in just 2 sessions. She really listens and knows her stuff. She taught me a maneuver to help with abdominal issues and it works! I want to add to the positive reviews for this place. My gynecologist referred me to them because of mild incontinence and dyspareunia. I was told that at least 12 week of treatment would be needed for me to see results. 3 weeks into the program I was not having incontinence episodes. 6 weeks into the program dyspareunia was an issue getting under control. I highly recommend Amanda my therapist, who was amazing. I went once a week for 7 weeks and now I keep following the program Amanda gave me at home. I am so improved that I could not recognize myself. If you have pelvic floor issues do yourself a big favor and visit them. read more

I was referred to Meredy by my occupational therapist. We needed to figure out why I was having the adductor problems. It seemed they were coming from my pelvic area. I have been seeing Amy at CPT for approximately a year and a half. I followed her when CPT was at their Ravenswood location. I was originally seeing another PT at a local hospital and was not seeing results. My sports medicine doctor referred me to CPT to specifically see Amy, and boy let me tell you Amy has been such a blessing. I originally went for treatment for my back, later on I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and recently hip osteoarthritis. I like to call Amy my voodoo magician because I'm usually dealing with a flare up and she's able to pin point the source of my flare up and makes me feel like new. I also enjoy the App that keeps track of my home exercises. I would highly recommend CPT if you want to see results and feel like new again! read more

EVERYONE MUST READ THIS!!!!! I have never written a review in my life but Meredy Parker at Chicago Physical Therapist has changed my life. I have stage 4 Endometriosis and have suffered from chronic pelvic pain and hypertonic pelvic floor muscles. Prior to seeing Meredy, it was a bunch of doctors brushing me off, pushing intense medications and no one giving me any knowledge about what was going on in my body. Doctors are so quick to look at you as just another "patient". I was devastated and found myself crying, assuming this would be my life forever. But THEN....I met Meredy! Meredy walked into my life and for the first time...someone gave me HOPE. Hope that I was going to get past this. She is so kind, so empathetic and so compassionate. She will be the mother, the sister, the friend, the professional you need. She doesn't rush your appointments. She will sit and talk to you like a person and will take the time to learn about your life and what makes you YOU. "Physical" Therapy is not the only component when it comes to healing. It's also earning about your diagnosis and emotionally healing. Meredy helped with it all! Meredy not only taught me breathing techniques, stretches and poses to help release my pelvic floor muscles, but she also taught me about Pain. The more I learned and understood pain, the better I could manage it...and not fear it. The more I learned about my body, the better I could be in tune with what was hurting. She gave me flash cards to study, introduced me to a very helpful book on pain, sent me new studies and podcasts on endometriosis & used a live model of the pelvic area to teach me about the specific muscles, nerves and organs. She broke up so much scar tissue in my abdomen that once felt like tight rubber bands which prohibited me from being able to lean backwards. She healed my sensitive bladder and she helped release my tight pelvic floor muscles. Many times we dread going to doctor appointments or PT..knowing it's just going to leave us with a pit in our stomach, but I loved seeing Meredy. I always left her clinic feeling encouraged and empowered! She is extraordinary at what she does. She is very knowledgeable and very innovative. Chicago Physical Therapists helped me with each of my four pregnancies to stay healthy and feeling well. I had back trouble during my pregnancies and they helped with pain relief and even helped me to sleep better during my pregnancies. I also went after each pregnancy to help heal. With the help of their therapists I was able to reach my goal in getting back to running after each of my four pregnancies. I can't recommend this practice enough! read more

TLDR: unscrupulous billing practices, cannot be reached by phone or email I started seeing Meredy Parker on February 22, 2022 and had about 3 PT sessions. On March 31, I was charged $341 without an invoice or ever being notified that I had a balance. The charge came at 7pm on a Friday so no one was in the office to speak to. I immediately called and the voicemail system for the billing department said that patients receive 2 invoices in a month and if CPT does not receive payment, then they would charge the card on file. I never received an invoice for $341. I checked my inbox and junk dating back to my first appointment. I received other emails from them, like appointment confirmations. I even received the receipt after they took out the $341 (which did not explain what I was being billed for, only that $341 was charged), but NEVER an invoice explaining the charge. I had visited their office at least 3 times and was never informed by any employee (front desk, billing, or otherwise) that I had a balance due. On March 31, I emailed and called the billing department asking about the invoice and their normal procedures, per their voicemail. Zena, the billing associate, emailed me the next day and said they normally send invoices and that Meredy would get back to me. I did not hear anything back from anyone (after 2 follow emails and several calls/voicemails) for almost 2 weeks. It wasn't until I said that I was disputing the charge with my financial institution that Meredy miraculously got back to me (while also reminding me several times that she was on vacation while doing so). Meredy then proceeds to explain the $341 charge in the email, but still had never sent an official invoice. I tell her again that I never received an invoice nor any notification I had a balance and that I was never given the opportunity to know I had a balance or get on a payment plan. On 4/18/22, I told them that because we seemed to be going in circles they could keep the money and not to send me a refund, that I was not going to enter a payment plan, and that I cancelled all my future appointments. I did not hear anything back from anyone (email or telephonically) until 4/29/22 when Meredy emailed and said they sent me a refund, that she would "resend" the invoice, and that she believes we spoke about charging $200 per month until the balance was at zero and that they will charge my card that amount. ONCE AGAIN, I NEVER received an invoice from February 22, 2022 onward and I emailed 9 days before 4/29 that I no longer wanted a refund and I am not entering into a payment plan. I told them they no longer have authorization to charge my card. I do believe that this is being done intentionally, as I saw another reviewer had a similar experience. I will be reporting this to the BBB and filing a complaint with the IL Attorney General Consumer Fraud Bureau. read more

Laura has great bedside manner and really takes time to understand the needs of her clients and works in a strengths based approach which keeps you feeling encouraged even when improvement takes time. Meredy Parker is hands down one of the best PTs out there. I am so lucky I found her while I was pregnant with my first and had her by my side during my postpartum recovery. She is SO knowledgeable about the entire body, kind, and respectful. She is invested in her patients and goes above and beyond to make sure I'm progressing in my recovery. I highly recommend starting to see her in your second or third trimester and throughout your postpartum recovery. Because of her, I felt more confident in my labor and delivery and I am so impressed by how my body has healed and started to get strong again. I also can't believe how she helped me navigate those early postpartum emotions and health issues my daughter was experiencing. She and her team also got my husband on their schedules last minute when his back went out a few weeks before I was due and helped him walk again.
