I have had both of my children at this center, my oldest did summer camp, which he loved. He loved all the field trips they took and just had a good time making friends. My youngest attended this center 4 days a week and it was literally the best thing that could have ever happened for him. He was 3 and had a speech delay, not really talking much, just random words here and there. Slowly over time, he started talking so much and was using small sentences. The work that Miss Jenn and Miss Leila put in with my son, I am internally grateful for. Each week, my son would be talking more and more and it was such a crazy journey of watching how much he grew in such a small amount of time. I was honestly worried he would end up needing speech therapy, but after his time at Carelot he has had such a transformation and I can't thank them enough for everything they did for my kids. brought my 4 month old there for care and got the opposite. The floors were unclean to where my child was eating stuff from the floor. I went to management that morning about the messy floors and came back to get my child and she had bleach stains on her pants and it started turn her flesh red from exposure. my child was taking my dcf and the foster mother put her in this daycare they managed to get my daughter dragged out for months by telling dcf I harassed them for things they thanked me for aswell as getting me banned for being concerned that my daughter came to me for an hour and a half with a half body rash and double ear infection that not one person noticed after almost three hours in this facility she has finally been pulled from this horrid place but the nanny McPhee lady who I WATCHED TOSS MY CHILD UNDER HER ARMPIT AND WALK AROUND LIKE A SACK OF POTATOES WITH NEEDS TO GO also if you encourage your child coming to you with sores on there face and head because this woman has been kissing your child as she literally did it when I dropped her off one day and I absolutely complained as to I was removed from the situation because dcf is involved so it was easy for them to say I was over reactive and it's done nothing but affect my baby coming home I have asked for daily reports and have been told there isn't any aswell as calling the report line to report this daycare some how they managed to swindle past that aswell help close this facility my baby was in this facility for 9 months and we are still trying to correct the diaper rash and cream burns on my child's areas these people are only there for the paychecks and of course as to the choice of child care I wasn't included in that until after they told me oh she starts next week and didn't give me any type of inclusion in any of this process until 9 months later they finally seen how repetitive every concern has been these workers went as far as saying I attacked them verbally by voicing my daughter had a rash over half her body read more

Horrible experience! My eldest was bullied to the poi t of tears every single time she went and the counselor never stopped it and made fun of her when she would approach him with issues from the other camper. My youngest would frequently go to school clear and clear and come home with such a severe rash her bum would bleed and it would then take me roughly a week to get it under control. My youngest was often sent home with roughly half the food i send in with her. When I pulled myboldest due to bullying issues they wanted to charge me $600 for the remaining 4 weeks of the summer. Who would ever pay someone to watch their child and get verbally and physically abused by another camper which was apparently allowed because he was never kicked out of the program!? I then made a review in another source which they didnt like so the CEO TEXTED Me after 8pm at night telling me he was gking tk sue me for "slander" if my review wasnt removed. This place is highly disorganized. I honestly have no idea how they were NYAEC accredited. There are frequently more than four children under the age of two with one adult. They fill out the daily reports first thing in the morning with the food that your child ate throughout the day and then the food is still in the bag when you pick them up. I brought a new package of diapers in one morning and brought them home when I picked up my child and there were 16 diapers missing but the daily report stated he had three diaper changes all day. There is a different staff with your child every time you visit the daycare. Whenever asked a question about your child's day, the answer is always "I don't know I wasn't with him/her all day." read more

My 4 year old Child is currently attending the Carelot Brooklyn Center. It has been a great experience! He is pre-school age and they have taught him so much! How to use his Bird beak to write, shapes, numbers, and just doing simple tasks on his own. Ms. Amanda is his pre-school teacher and I can't express enough on how great she is with the kids! Highly disorganized center. This goes for all the carelot centers in this corner of Connecticut. They advertise continuously about low ratio. It's false. They max out the classrooms so it's always 10 to 1 ratio. That's state law but quality centers always have less per teacher so the education is top notch. When you drop your child off at class you might see their home room teacher at that time however when you pick your child up, your child will be bounced from one room to other so teachers can close out a room and go home. Your child's teacher will not be there when you pick up, the question how was my child today couldn't be answered. Because the staff member closing has no clue. It's complete chaos in the rooms and it not the teachers fault at all. They continuously get yelled yes Yelled at by the director. I've seen several times this woman yelling at employees in front of parents and children. The children's bathrooms are wide open. Anyone walking down the hall can see that a child is peeing-the stalls are wide open as well so each child can see each other using the bathroom. I can't begin to tell you the amount of times walking down the hall and seeing a child pants down trying to wipe themselves or a teacher trying to wipe them, I've heard a teacher tell a four year old student they had to use those stalls not the one older kid closed stall in the corner. She didn't want to be seen and was forced to use those toilets. The older children's behavior is awful!!! The teachers sit there and write incident report after incident report and the director does nothing to help these teachers. I've seen these poor teachers look so overwhelmed with 20 older students not listening and throwing items around the room and swearing at teachers. Carelot has such a awful turn out rate. They are always hiring because no one can't stand there for long. During the time i witnessed two teachers quit and another three in Brooklyn and two in Woodstock/Thompson centers. They were taking employees who are teachers and forcing them to fill in for other towns. I wish parents would really look into centers before sending your children. This is NOT a quality center. This is the Walmart of day cares and they care more about the money than your child. There are so many options in this state please do your research. Plenty take care for kids for payment. The owner of this business should be ashamed. She really needs to do a clean up of these centers. Brooklyn and Thompson doesn't even have full time educated teachers in home rooms for preschool. They have subs and floaters covering getting paid min. Wage doing a teachers job. Because no one wants the job. It's against NAEYC rules to not have a consistent educated teacher in that room. read more
