"Which room for this TV?" Antonio, one of the movers asked me, midway through the move out of SF. "Guest room", I said. "OK!" He writes "Guess Room" on the shrink wrap. Ciaran, the team lead starts cracking up, and the rest of the guys were teasing him both days of the move. Great team, great camaraderie. They all worked their asses off. No complaining about the hill up to the new place, or when we asked them to move a few [large] things after they were inside. I worked with Jonathan over the phone and we did a video walkthrough. He was quick to notice a branch at base of the driveway that would have made things very difficult for the movers. We got that trimmed and it was smooth sailing. I'll be honest, the quote came in a bit higher than another mover, but the other mover also did a sight unseen quote and I believe that they might not have fully delivered on their promise. It's also my hope that some of that extra margin goes to the movers. They seemed happy. As happy as one can be while moving someone else's gigantic sectional couch up a hill. A+. Thanks again to Jonathan, Ciaran and the crew. PS. They came in about 25% under their original quote. Combo of them underpromising / overdelivering + me doing really good prep and removal of junk after our video walkthrough. PPS. I *think* the going rate for tipping is $10 / hr / mover. What can I say about this company that hasn't been said in the reviews? They are an absolutely awesome crew of people to work with. We moved from San Francisco to Sacramento but our move out day and move in day were separated by two weeks. Aggie (the owner) was kind enough to store all of our stuff in the moving truck for two weeks so I didn't have to pay extra for unloading and reloading the moving truck. They had a team of 5 people come and load up there truck and they were polite, courteous, and very careful with all of our stuff. When it was time to finally drive the truck up to Sacramento, we had 3 man crew of Omar, Beto, and Leo. This was a slightly different crew than the the first team that came but they were equally professional and polite. I can't recommend this company enough. Having dealt with two of their teams and having a consistent experience really made me believe that this company is top notch across the board. Moving is a big thing in your life and something that you only do a handful of times. To have people care about your stuff the same way you would care for your own belongings is something you can't really pay for. David, Ciaran, and their crew were amazing to work with! From my initial inquiry to the final items being placed in my new home, they were super communicative and on top of everything. Their prices are more than fair for the incredible service they provide. Each member of the crew took great care in wrapping every piece of furniture and loaded the truck in no time. At my new home, they made sure all the furniture and rugs were perfectly aligned in each room without me having to ask or direct. Dealing with a pandemic is hard enough, but having to move during a pandemic is a whole new level. Thankfully, David and the rest of his team were very friendly and accommodating throughout the process. They were willing to be a bit flexible with the arrival time to take into account the loading zone times in front of my building, and were very patient with the many phone calls I placed to ask questions that came to mind as someone who is hiring movers for the first time in his life. And when the day finally arrived (today!), Aris, Paddy, and Rodger pulled up in front of my apartment building right on time and got to work right away, carefully wrapping my furniture with plastic wrap and pads to protect it. They went quickly, considering how much stuff I had to move! (Pro-tip: they offer free use of wardrobe boxes to transport your clothes on hangers. They mention this, but what I *didn't* know beforehand is that those wardrobe boxes can also be used for clothes/bedding/pillows/other light things that *aren't* on hangers! The only caveat is you need to quickly unpack those boxes as soon as they bring them into your new place, so they can take them back (and since the boxes are reused, some of them are dusty). I spent so much time finding boxes and packing most of my clothes at the last minute! I could've saved so much time and headache!) Once we arrived at my place, they made efficient use of time and space to keep a steady stream of boxes flowing into my apartment despite having to put everything into an elevator. Aside from a minor incident involving a couple bottles of chicken broth exploding, and a incident where I (with 4 hours of sleep) thought a box with all my plates/bowls went messing and we spent 15 minutes looking for it), everything seems to have gone off without a hitch! Edit: deducting a star because I've started to notice a lot of scratches in the hardwood floor that weren't here when I did the check-in inspection with my landlord a couple days ago; I just checked against the photos/videos we took during our initial check-in. The scratch in the attached photo was the most egregious because it's obviously leading to the desk (which has plastic feet under the metal base, so they may have tilted the desk while moving/unloading it off a cart and caused the metal base to scrape the floor). If my landlord charges me for hardwood repair costs because of these new scratches, the cost of this move could be double! read more

Prior to booking, David answered all my questions over the phone easily and when my wife had additional questions, he responded quickly by email. Once we decided to use their service, all our insurance coverage options were organized nicely in a pdf that was sent over for our review. They worked with us on a day-by-day basis when our underwriters decided to delay the closing process on our home. Very professional and accommodating. The move went quickly and even our MDF furniture survived (It doesn't many times with moves from what we've heard). I packed more of my tools than I intended to, and the moving crew had everything I needed to both disassemble and then reassemble once we arrived to our new home. Our recent move with Caremore was the BEST moving experience I've ever had (and I've moved 6 times!). We hired Caremore to do both packing and moving, and both experiences were great and efficient! The entire crew was extremely professional, kind, charismatic and willing to go the extra mile to make our move go as smoothly as possible. We'll definitely be using them again and recommending them to friends (especially ones with arcade machines)! Some things that stood out from our move with Caremore: Before the move, David, the owner, personally came to our house to do an onsite evaluation. Caremore was the only company to do this, and this made us ultimately go with them. It also helped Caremore give us an estimate that was very accurate! We had two arcade machines that needed to be moved, and we were very nervous about this. Both on the phone and in person, David assured us that the crew had moved things like this before and talked through a plan to move the machines that put us at ease. The day of the move, David ensured a very handy crew member named Paddy was there to help us with any handiwork we needed, including getting out a pesky stripped screw that had been plaguing us for months! David also rented an additional truck with a tail lift to load and unload the machines--at no extra cost to us! Talk about going the extra mile! Overall, the crew's friendly and positive demeanor just put us at ease. Trevor, our crew's leader, is extremely jovial and shared fun stories with us as he packed and loaded multiple boxes on his back. Freddy, Ciaran and Paddy echoed this vibe, and together they made two days of what should have been hell a really enjoyable and CALM experience. When we finally got to our new place, the crew unloaded everything super efficiently. This left ample time to do a "walk though" of each room and tweak any furniture configurations. My upstairs neighbor was getting rid of her piano and we decided to take it. However, it was extremely heavy and we didn't have an easy way to go down a very long flight of stairs with it. I have moved several times in my lifetime and have used both the big moving companies and local ones. My recent move with CAREMORE Movers was the best! I only had a small move this time, but both of my movers were extremely polite and respectful of my time. They even called my from the road letting me know the exact time they would arrive at my home. When they arrived, the movers were extremely careful with my furniture and took great care not to bump into my walls. They had no problem in taking a large cabinet down two flights of stairs. Very, very disappointed. I question the integirty of some people who moved my stuff. Now I possibly have to buy a new bed. I used their service to move and store everything first, and a few months later again to move it from their storage to my new apartment. Right after the move to the new place, I was very happy about how quick their service was, how reasonable the price was, and how friendly the guys were, so I tipped them big. However, weeks later, my bed started squeaking and getting wobbly, so I lifted my mattress -- to find that many slats not screwed in, and one of the three legs that support those slats in the middle missing. Because a leg was missing, one of the other two legs broke due to the unequally distributed weight -- hence the squeaking and wobbling. My bed was sturdy and perfectly fine for 5+ years before the move (no squeaking or wobbling, with great support), but now I have to buy a new one or spend $$ to buy parts and get it fixed. I'm saddened by this experience -- and the way the movers behaved. After the move, the bed was fine at first, as it was able to support my weight for a while, but eventually, with the lack of support from slats and all the legs to support the slats, it was destined to fall apart. They must have known -- there are a whole bunch of holes open where screws are supposed to be. But they just covered everything with the mattress and left. Perhaps they knew that I wouldn't notice at least for a while. I feel stupid for thanking them so profusely and tipping each of them big. A few things to clarify. (1) My bed had all the parts and functioned perfectly for years, so if parts were lost, it's their fault, as the company did both moving it from my previous pad to their storage, and then to my new pad. (2) If anything, the movers could have warned me about missing parts, so I could have prevented it from breaking the way it did. But they just covered it with the mattress. Perhaps they knew they lost the parts. Either way, I question their integrity. (3) I understand that it's too late to make them accountable. I noticed all this weeks after the move, as the bed was fine until then. I'm writing this so others don't have to experience this bummer of an experience, let alone wasted furniture. Check to make sure everything is assembled correctly after the move! When my bed started falling apart, I was about to write a rave review for them, and it was such a disappointment to find out about the consequences of questionable acts by some members of the company. read more

What pros! Got a recommendation from my friend to go with CAREMORE and happy I did! I've already referred my friend to use them. Aris and Slava know how to make basically anything happen. 3rd floor staircase with 180 degree turn in it and a queen sized bed frame didn't scare these guys. They loaded up everything safely, made me feel heard in my requests, and they were cheerful and treated my stuff with care (although i didn't have anything super fragile that i was on high alert for). Honest company very easy to get a quote (my total came to slightly more for the extra time needed), made sure i understood the charges before and after. We were so impressed with the fine young men from Caremore Moving & Storage!! After researching and discussing our project with 5 other companies, I was so happy to receive a call from Johnathan. Unlike the others, he asked me to send pictures so he could get a better idea of what we needed and he accommodated us the very next day! He showed up himself with Ciaran, Trevor and Rodger. Even after a long day on another job, they came in with friendliness, enthusiasm and a good Irish sense of humor! They worked beautifully as a team to figure out the best way to accomplish the monumental task of getting a 400 lb. statue back up on a 3 ft. high pedestal, after it had been knocked off by huge falling branches during our recent storms. It was no easy feat but they were determined to get the statue up and did it with great care to make sure that it was not damaged in the process. We just stood back in awe!! We highly recommend them for any job--because any job would be easier than this one! Their company is very well named as they definitely care more!!
