I hate to do this because I have been to this location before and had an OK experience. The good: I do like the web check in and the Doctors and front desk were good. Only reason for the extra star. The bad: The male nurse had zero bedside manner. Very rough and "lets get this done' attitude. When he checked by oxygen, he snapped that finger thing on, grabbed my arm and stuck it in his armpit so he could get my blood pressure. Good thing he wasnt sweating. Another tech or nurse saw me to draw blood. She literally took 10 minutes trying to find a vein. I have blood taken on occasion and never have I had a tech take more than one minute finding something. When she did find it, however, I fellt zero pain.... a big plus. After the doctor saw me, she said someone would be in with prescriptions. 25 minutes later....no one. Nothing worse than having to wait to pay. I stepped out to the nurses station where that same nurse told me to hang tight, he faxed everything and hes getting to me. Ugh. The prescription was faxed to a place nowhere near my house. So, I'll have to go through that hassle of changing it on my own as well. read more

The doctors at this place were very nice. The front desk people are absolutely lost. I visited this place in August 2016. Filled out all paper work including insurance information and I had a copay of $20.00. April 2017 I receive a call from a collection agency saying I owe $157.00 I never received one piece of mail or a phone call requesting a payment because there was an issue with my insurance. I was placed for collections without a phone call and now I my credit score has been effected. The person at the front desk inputted my address wrong into the system which I confirmed on a phone call, so I never received any mail. Either way, the front office of this place has caused me a major headache and effected my credit score which is something I value. Oh, and don't DARE call up to the office because you will get so much attitude that its a joke. No idea what she is talking about. read more

I recently visited this location of Care Now for the first time. Clara Sisk was my PA. Even though I had to wait 3 hours to get a call to come in (perfectly understandable considering the flu epidemic), everyone there was very professional and helpful. Once there, I had barely finished my paperwork when they called me in. I appreciated the time that the PA spent with me - asking questions, examining me. I never felt like she was trying to rush through to get to the next patient. She anticipated what I might experience within the next week and gave me everything I needed to handle the situation. Used the on line check in at was seen within 30 minutes of arrival. Very organized and friendly. My second trip here for different issues and I was fortunate to get the same Doctor on both visits. Her name was Ms. Trombley and she is very thorough and speaks clearly and at the patients level of understanding! This place is located practically across the street from where I live, but I am NEVER going back!! I had the usual winter crud - headache, runny nose, fever, sore throat. I checked in online, and after I got the call to come in I STILL had to wait for nearly half an hour. The exam room was really hot (even the staff mentioned it), which was brutal to someone already burning a fever and unwell. I wound up getting a strep test (negative) a steroid shot (which I was told would have me feeling better in a few hours) and a prescription for antibiotics (which I was told not to fill for a few days and then only if the shot didn't work and I still felt bad). None of this made me feel better - illness and fever lingered for another week. Six weeks later, I'm still fighting off the chest congestion. The worst part is... even though I made my copay at the time of my visit, I keep getting more bills! I've gotten a second bill from Care Now, a separate bill from a lab - all related to the one visit that didn't even make me well! When I call to dispute the bill I get finger-pointing towards my insurance company. And my insurance company finger points right back at Care Now. And I had NO idea any bills besides my copay would be forthcoming. I finally called today to ask if there were any more surprise bills to look forward to. A woman on the phone just told me the chief medical officer "would look into it." I'm just hoping no more bills show up... I don't know why they can't bother to warn you that you will be charged multiple times for one trip! AND they called my insurance company ahead of my visit to verify coverage, so I find it hard to believe that they didn't know the multi-billing was coming. They should have at least given me a heads up. I know $200 is far from the biggest medical bill ever posted, but that's what I've paid so far and it seems like a lot to pay for NOT getting well. I hope they enjoy their multiple payments... I will NEVER go back there. Instead I'll be looking for a clinic that is upfront about billing and actually makes sick people well. read more

There is still 2 hrs wait with web check in, short wait in lobby, a normal long wait after nurse releases you and seeing the doctor. Total about 4 hrs lately. Nobody ever looks forward to the doctors office. I always compare it to the dmv- long wait times, expensive, & usually rude/unhappy workers. However, care now is seriously the best health clinic I have EVER been to. The first time I went here I had thought I had a serious medical emergency & was freaking out. Fortunately, it was not a big deal & got it all figured about. But what I was most impressed by was their staff. From the front desk girls to the nurse and the doctor- everybody is so friendly/caring. They genuinely are concerned about your health & I really feel like everybody there loves what they do. I remember walking away raving to my friend (who referred them to me) about how I have never experienced such great service at a clinic before. What even makes them more superb is the second time I had to come in. It was literally the same reason as the first time & was soooo embarrassed to come back for the same problem (You would think I would have learned my lesson the first time) but not once did the doc/nurse make me feel dumb. As for the reviews who dock them for their long wait times- if you did not make an appointment prior, what did you expect?? If they are busy, they are obviously going to take the people who had already made an appointment. They can not help how busy they get & I have been a walk in both times. From what I observed, they take in everybody in a timely manner as much as possible. Both times I walked in, they called me up before the estimated wait time. Thanks again Dr. Trombley & care now staff!! I hope I don't have to see you guys again for a long long time. But if I do- I'll come to this clinic in a heartbeat. read more

This was my first time ever going to a care now. I called ahead, they explained to me how to do the online check-in. I did the online check-in. I waited for about an hour in the comfort of my home and they called me and told me to head that way. As soon as I got there they hand me paperwork, I didn't even get to finish it before I was taken to the back to actually talk to a nurse! Shortest wait time ever! I talked to the nurse right away as I was waiting for the doctor, I finished the paperwork. The doctor came in, was really efficient, asked me a bunch of questions. I ended up grabbing a few prescriptions for what we decided was strep and I handed her my paperwork that I had just finished. She had me on my way out and I paid. The whole visit took me 25 minutes and I was on my way to the pharmacy. 2 days later they called to check up to make sure everything was okay, that I had received my medication and if there was any additional medication that I felt I needed. Which I did! I was in serious pain and I asked for pain medication and magic mouthwash that I had not felt i needed originally. They were able to call that into the pharmacy without me going back in or to the pharmacy myself. I feel great now and I will definitely go back the next time I have strep throat or any other similar ailment! read more

Since it opened approx 10-15 years ago, I've used this Care Now often and have always had excellent and caring medical assistance. Last time, with Dr. Grace Cartwright, was an exceptional and outstanding experience. She's Good! I had and still have a quirky stomach and other physicians have been unable to find the cause and cure. Dr. Cartwright ran a battery of tests, all of which are pointing to the cause(s) and I'll visit again soon, for her advice on the cure(s). Again, if you need an excellent diagnostician and physician, Dr. Cartwright is your person. read more

I came in with my daughter around 1:45. Front desk took my info and told us they can call us when our room is ready . We went back home and waited for phone call from them. They called a little before 3 and we were at Care Now in about 10 mins. It's now almost 4 and we are still waiting. They came took my daughters vitals. Nurse practitioner came in shortly after and swabbed my daughters throat for strep. Needless to say my daughter is in a lot of pain and we are still waiting... If you would like to wait wait and wait some more without having any answers to your questions come to this facility. read more

My 11yo - From stitches to 3 day hospital stay within 2 days of a minor injury Thursday, 2/14/13:My 11 year old son needed stitches due to an accident at school - another child tripped and fell and his teeth went into my son's skin over his left eye. My husband and son told the front desk reception, nurse and Dr. Charles Ross what happened. I showed up from work and reiterated that I wanted to make sure the doctor understood what the cause of the injury was because of concerns about an infection. The doctor assured us that the prescription he was precscribing was strong enough. He asked my husband to come back on Tuesday to have the stitches removed. Friday, 2/15/13: My husband had to bring my son back the next morning (less than 24 hours after the injury) because our son's face had swollen up around the injury and was obviously infected (inclusive of discharge coming out of the stitches). The doctor prescribed another set of prescriptions after telling my husband that my son is allergic to the neosporin that we were asked to apply to help the wound heal. We have used Neosporin multiple times on our son throughout his life and he has never had a reaction. We immediately stopped applying the neosporin. My husband expressed his concern again about the type of injury caused by the other child's teeth and it becoming a staph infection. The doctor said that all infections were staph and the prescriptions he prescribed were strong enough to curb the infection. He told my husband to bring our son back on Saturday, 2/6/13 Saturday, 2/16/13: We went back to CareNow on Saturday. Another doctor (Dr. Brown) examined my son and expressed concern about how infected it was and if it wasn't better by Sunday, we'd need to take him to the ER. I asked if we should take him then, he said he wanted to see if the new prescriptions would take care of it. He also asked me to come back if it got worse that day. I asked him to clarify what worse meant to him since my son could barely see out of his left eye due to the swelling. He said that if there was more discharge and if the swelling got bigger come back. If it didn't, he wanted us to come back and see him on Sunday when he would be there to see my son. Saturday, 2/16/13 afternoon - Monday, 2/18/13: Our son's infection did not get better. We called the doctor (Dr. Brown) at CareNow and he said that he felt that we should go to the ER because everyone was worried about him. We immediately drove over to an ER that examined our son and advised that he needed to be admitted to a childrens hospital. They facilitated a transfer to Children's Medical Center of Dallas. On Sunday, after examination by the doctor at the hospital, a facial surgeon examined our son, cleaned out my son's wound and then restitched it to eliminate most of the potential scarring. Our son was discharged on Monday, 2/18/13. CareNow call center called on Sunday to check on our son. We told them he was in the hospital due to an infection. Dr. Ross called and asked about our son and was surprised that he was in the hospital. My husband reiterated that we had been concerned all along about an infection occurring and had discussed this with him during every visit and he advised that the prescriptions he prescribed were strong enough. My husband also told Dr. Ross that we had been asked by other doctors why our son did not get an antibiotic with penicillin due to the initial bite. Dr. Ross got off of the phone, rechecked the records, called my husband back and apologized. Follow up: We received a bill from CareNow for 3 visits and started calling the hospitals to get an idea of the out of pocket costs. 3/21-22, my husband contacted CareNow's corp office in Coppell, Texas, spoke with Cassandra and advised that our son did not receive the standard of care he should have and wanted to file an official complaint. Cassandra said she would refer the complaint to the Chief Medical Officer for CareNow, Dr. Marc Anduss. Cassandra advised my husband that we were accidentally overcharged for the 2 subsequent visits, so removed them from the bill. She said that someone would call my husband after they got the medical records from the hospital and had a chance to review the information (approx. 15-20 days). We did not receive a call. My husband called Cassandra on April 17 and left her a voicemail. He did not receive a call back. He received a letter in the mail on 4/19/13 from Dr. Marc Anduss advising that my 11 year old son had in fact received appropriate care from Dr. Ross. And if we had further concerns, we needed to put it in writing. 4/19/13, my husband posted on the CareNow corp Facebook page explaining what occurred and that this was his official request for a response in writing. CareNow responded back to the post and asked him to private message his phone number. My husband did. They deleted/hid the post. He reposted again this morning. read more

Their web check in is a joke. After I got the call an hour after I check in, I went to Carenow immediately. But an hour and an half later, I still haven't seen the doctor! Being sick, my time needs to be more respected. I won't come back ever again! read more

I was just refused service. I checked in online before closing time. Showed up and was told a decision was made that would not be seen. The doctor and nurse both recognized the large possible spider bite on my calf and still refused me service. It's good to know that your organization is not as worried about public safety as much as the company name suggests. Emphasis on the COMPANY, because it is clear you're in Business not to help, but to make a profit. Care Now should read "Care before we close, but then we need to go count money". Not such a convenient title, but neither are your service policies. "Family Doctors, Convenient care", that's a joke! The only thing I noticed that was convenient was the policies generated on the spot to accommodate the staff. I was told at first that I needed to check in on premise before 5pm and web check-in before 4pm...so why was I able to check in? This is quite a technical embarrassment on your part. read more

I visited the North Dallas Preston and Royal location this morning and received 2 prescriptions. I made a huge point that I am extremely allergic to penicillin and sulfa drugs. After waiting for over an hour at the pharmacy, I learn that the antibiotic prescribed contained PENICILLIN! The pharmacist warned me about taking it since she actually can read a chart - an ability that the Care Now doctor seems to be lacking. She made numerous phone calls, left messages; my husband made multiple phone calls and Care Now finally calls me back - not on the number that I gave as my contact number. I was told that what was prescribed by the lady do your was not penicillin. Since the doctor that saw me was a man and since the doctor never bothered to call and speak with the pharmacist, I had very little faith in this young boy nurse who they told to call me. Realize that I was seen in the morning and it is now after 4 pm. The kid insisted that the medicine prescribed was not penicillin and I said that unless the doctor explained that to the pharmacist, I would not be comfortable taking the medicine. I have severe reactions to penicillin. He said that the doctor was just too busy and would not be taking the time to call any pharmacist. I had been dealing with this problem since 12:30 p.m. and it was now after 4 p.m. The pharmacist - who was also very busy - had been making numerous phone calls to Care Now. At least pharmacists care about people. Care Now doctors obviously DO NOT "Care Now" or ever - they are just "too busy." I am very thankful to the pharmacists who literally saved my life by telling me that the antibiotic contains penicillin. This doctor should not be practicing medicine! Sent from my iPad read more

This is the best urgent care facility I have ever been to! I will definitely recommend this Care Now to friends and family. I used the web check in feature and it was awesome. Once you submit your check in, you will get a follow up call as confirmation and then the nurse will call you when they are ready for you to show up. I was able to get in and out in about an hour. Everyone was so nice! I was able to see Dr.Arias and she was very nice and took a lot of time while evaluating me. This did not have that rushed "minute clinic" feel to it. The nurse staff was prompt, knowledgable and kind. Dr. McCoy on the other hand could use an intense bedside manners course. The last thing you want to do when sick is deal with a condensing individual. Clearly she isn't a people person, not sure why she went into a field where she has to deal with the public daily. If you have to go to this location I would definetly request a different doctor. I haven't been treated by them but I am positive they can't be as ill-mannered as Dr. McCoy. I hate to give only one star because the nurse staff was great but at the end of the day no need to deal with a curt individual. I will take my sick insured behind elsewhere. read more

Several members of my family have been treated at this facility and have had nothing but positive experiences. I don't understand the reviewers who are angry at having to wait an hour (in a private room) for a Dr. at an EMERGENCY clinic. I came in last week (with an actual emergency, as a hemophiliac with deep open wounds) and the people with coughs seemed angry that I was rushed back right away. We have also had to wait long hours with sick children, which is frustrating , but we appreciate the fact that there is a walk-in facility available to accommodate our late work hours and understand that we may be pushed back in the event of a more threatening medical condition.. IF you can actually grasp the scope of what goes on in this clinic, you will realize that the staff at this facility are amazing. read more

Unhappy with Dr. Carenow was not able to fix my problem, so gave me some temporary meds and put me into Carenow referral system, which I used. Two weeks later, referral system has not found me a doctor and original Carenow will not refill meds (referred me to ER??!!). Its like a corporation with no accountability to the patient. It's also very nice to schedule the appointment and have them call you to tell you when to come to the clinic, so you are not having to wait for a long period of time in the clinic. I went to Care Never last Saturday because I hurt my back and was in extream pain They said it would be an hour wait so I thought it would be better to wait than to try to get back in the car to go home and wait After 2 hours and several pleas for help they finally put me in a room where I waited another 15 minutes I begged them to let me see a doctor as my pain was getting worse by the second They said I would have to wait at least 20 more minutes. I couldnt take it anymore so we left and went to the emergency room at Medical City. Within a few minutes they examined me and gave me a pain shot. I do not ever plan to visit Care Never again. read more

I went to in yesterday for symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. I was prescribed an antibiotic and cough syrup. I had no problems during my visit and have previously been to this Carenow facility and not had any major problems. However, after taking the cough syrup overnight I began having some side effects. I called the facility at 11 in the morning requesting a different cough syrup. By 515 in the evening, I had still not heard back, so I called again..I was told the doctor had approved a new cough syrup to be called in by a nurse to my pharmacy number I provided and that someone would call me to update me. At 830 pm, I became impatient once again due to persistent coughing and lack of communication. I called again only to be put on hold for several minutes, told all the nurses were busy, but that they would address my needs with a nurse when one exited a room. It is now 1050 pm, they closed at 10 so I am no longer able to contact them. I am facing another night of coughing and no sleep. I understand being busy with patients throughout the day..but the nurses need to make time call back. Especially when the doctor has approved a medication for the patient hours earlier. read more

Going to carenow was the worst experience of my life. I went to the care now off of main and 423 in frisco tx for a case of bronchitis. I have cough variant asthma, which I stated to this so called doctor, so I get it a lot. I couldn't see my g.p., who is great, so I went to carenow which I've been to about three times before. I told them what I've been diagnosed with and that I thought it was probably just bronchitis. I asked the doctor if she'd mind if I told her my usual script cause that is what my g.p. Told me to do. He and I have been working with my lungs for a long time. I use an inhaler which usually keeps this under control. I told her when I get bronchitis, it's ten times worse than normal people. My dr prescribes me z pack and tussionex to help me sleep in a low quantity. Have received that combination three times prior over the course of three years. She refused the request. I told her I was just being honest, and she leaned back, flipped through some papers and told me I was a drug addict. I went cold and into shock. I didn't have words. I'm not an addict and I rarely have a glass of wine. I'm very type a. She ordered me the z pack and left the room. In tears, I raced out of the office. I called them bawling and told them I'd pay my bill via phone but that they were mistaken. I demanded a copy of said letter from insurance and a phone number for medco. I called my insurance who told me there was no such letter. I called my g.p. Who told me he had received nothing and that they probably had the wrong person. I called back to care now to explain this, and I was told I'm an addict trying to get my fix. It wasn't even my file, and they would not apologize.it put me through emotional hell as I'm a teacher and could lose my career over something like this. NEVER go there. They are not highly trained doctors who care. They are low life dr wanna bes and could do the same to u. Please use my misfortune of. Having my chart switched to deter you from going there. Furthermore, boycott altogether. To people that are really in pain, I couldn't imagine how that might feel. I am lucky that I'm not in pain. Please don't subject yourself or your children to this facility. read more

The only good thing about this clinic is that you can sign in on line and they will call you, so you don't spend hours waiting in the clinic. However,once there, I found that the care provided was below standard ( I have previously worked in hospitals so I know what to expect). I went in for a lacerated finger, and now, 3 monhs later, I'm still having problems with my finger. The PA's don't seem to be top of their class. On ny second visit, the PA didn't even know how to properly apply a steri strip, which caused me issues later on, preventing my finger from healing properly. The other issue I had was with their billing department. When I had my fist visit, they told me that my insurance company would not pay for my visit, because I had not met my deductible. They then told me what the visit would cost, which I accepted. This happened for the two visits that I had. They told me what it would cost, and I paid on the spot. Then, a month later they came back with an additional bill, saying that my insurance had disallowed payment for supplies, and that I needed to pay for that. Of course, this was in the "fine print" on the document I signed, even though they told me onsite that was all that I would need to pay. Bottom line is, don't trust anything they tell you, and be mindful of the care received. Your best bet is to go to your Primary Care physician, even if you have to wait for an appointment. read more

When I arrived at CareNow Urgent Care, I was not only sick, but my thinking was muddled and I felt distraught and confused. I had new medical insurance, and could not remember all the details about it to report upon check in. I recently moved to the area and did not have a regular primary care physician. I was nervous and felt completely alone. Everyone from the women at the reception desk, the nurse who triaged me and the doctor who ultimately saw me treated me with the utmost respect, really listened to what I had to say, were very comforting and concerned about my predicament and showed extreme kindness to me while they helped to calm me and effectively addressed my insurance situation and medical conditions. They did everything in their power to provide what treatment they could within the urgent care setting, gave me a prescription and diagnosis and a referral to a new primary physician near my workplace. They made sure that I was calm and safe to drive myself before I left, and followed up with me right away to ensure that I was all right and took charge of scheduling my first appointment with the new primary care doctor. Since I was feeling particularly overwhelmed, I cannot convey how much their caring and proactive approach helped me finally get the full treatment I needed to recover. Everyone at CareNow truly went above and beyond the call of duty. They have definitely earned my loyalty and gratitude, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of medical attention. read more
